The indoor/ outdoor space blends together in the warmer months with cool hangout spaces and game areas. This place is truly a work of art. Drink lists abound, but because it was lunchtime we stuck to food. We were not disappointed. Everything was well conceived and delicious. I can't wait to come back and try the bone bread next time, stew and scrumptious sounding salads. Today we had the kids smash burger, Brussels burger with frites and fried haddock and frites with a delicious coleslaw. The best part? Different sauces to choose to dip the fries in. The curry ketchup was the best (special shout out for *actually* cooking the curry into the ketchup) as it did not taste of raw curry. They definitely don't cut corners here. We noticed, and we appreciated it. We will be back.

Yes, they have a small parking lot, and don't fret if you have the park on the street like we did, as we were seating promptly and it didn't feel too crowded. Since we were seated at high tops near the bar, the bar tender was our waitress, and she is literally the nicest, good energy, engaging human ever! She also whips up the custom, creative mimosa recipes, kudos to her for her awesomeness! I ordered the Shakshuka, flavorful, delicious, would order again. Even as a non-vegan, it was satisfying and would recommend to everyone. Husband had the 1964 Worlds Fair Waffle, and it was tiny. Not what you envision when you think of Belgian waffles. He also ordered the Belgian Forest Bacon, again VERY small portion, so much so that at the end of the meal, he had to order a side of the Smashed Maple Sausage. Both our drinks (I had the mimosa) were fantastic and worth ordering, loved the glassware! Aside from the small portions of waffle, bacon, and sausage, the cheerful vibes here are contagious, and I'd dine here again in a heartbeat!

I did find my Apple old fashioned a little sweet, and would have preferred a duck fat wash rather than an apple butter wash. I also found some un-dissolved sugar at the bottom. But that is my bad on the ordering. Would still come back just for the cocktails! Appetizer: We got the Brussels sprouts, and would recommend it. They offered a generous helping, they were very crispy and the blue cheese and honey was very complimentary. Entree: We got the ribeye to split. It was cooked very well, seasoned well, and came with really beautiful vegetables and mashed potatoes. The kitchen was very nice to split the 2 dishes as I shared it with my husband. We got complimentary bread service and a cucumber palette cleanser. The olive oil and garlic for the bread was delicious! We came on a Monday, but I saw that they offered live music on Fridays!

Only downside: the restaurant is connected to a bar and with live music at the bar it made it a little difficult to talk and felt distracting at times. I would recommend an earlier dinner reservation if you want to avoid the noise! Drink: -Autumn 1873- refreshing and balanced! Food: -Brussel sprouts- crunchy and sweet with a pop of flavor from the blue cheese! -Scallops. Perfectlyyyy cook and paired great with the risotto!

Service was slow out of the gate -- despite our waiter hanging out with a table he clearly knew. Food didn't fare much better. We ordered the smash burger, which by definition should come with cheese and smash sauce -- that's the whole point of a smash burger, not an add-on. Ours came with neither, and even though it had two patties, we had to pay extra just to add a single slice of cheese. It was incredibly dry, even after adding that cheese and trying table condiments to compensate. The chicken tenders looked appetizing but the chicken itself was stringy and overcooked. Dessert was the low point. We ordered the Oreo cheesecake bites and waited over 20 minutes, only to be served what was essentially liquid pudding in a shooter glass with whipped cream on top. Our server admitted, "I didn't know I was supposed to make it" -- it seems the dessert needed time to set in the fridge and was served before it was ready. While we were waiting we heard another table complaining. The server responded "chill. It's all good". The table responded "actually it's not all good!" Three strikes and we're out. We won't be back.

They had a lot of options but we went with the Trendsetter. The honey was way kore sweet than hot, but they were still really good. The herb ranch was tasty too. I'm not mad about this! Currently, there are seven savory pinwheels to choose from plus one sweet pinwheels. I am pleased to report that of them are vegetarian. (Yay!) Also available are three salads, three kinds of snacks, and three desserts. I ordered the cheesy garlic pinwheels with mozzarella, provolone, roasted garlic, parmesan garlic butter, and parmesan seasoning for $16. Each pinwheels order comes with a dipping sauce, and my spouse reaaallllllly wanted hot honey. I did see that there was an option for a flight of dipping sauces for $4, but I didn't want to shell out the extra dough this time around. Once our pinwheels were ready, I was texted immediately. They came out piping hot. After letting them cool down, I was eager to sink my teeth in. They were good and cheesy, and the hot honey wasn't enough sauce-wise. I wished I had paid for the flight of sauces so that I could have combined the hot honey with marinara and pesto. I'm pleased with this addition to downtown Grand Haven, and I would 100% return knowing it's worth paying extra for a flight of sauces. Right now the kitchen is only open Fridays-Sundays, and I hope that will change in time.
