I recently had my car towed by this company while visiting my daughter at her apartment complex from out of town. Although I understand that I was not parked in a designated guest spot because none were available. I called the company simply to confirm the towing details and cost. During the call, I tried to express my frustration about the apartment complex's lack of adequate guest parking--not toward the towing company itself because I understood they were just doing their job--but the person I spoke with, who said he was the owner, was very rude and hung up on me. When I called back to ask if the hang-up was intentional, I was told yes, because he said he didn't have to listen to me express myself. I was expressing myself about a 4 story apartment complex with only having 12 guest parking spots and no other designated areas for guest parkin. I was not being disrespectful towards him, I was only trying to explain my situation. I found his response very unprofessional and disappointing. Regardless of the reason for the tow, customers deserve basic courtesy and professionalism when communicating with a business. Needless to say I had to pay $155 for my car that same night and if I would have picked it up the next day the fee would have been an extra $30 which amounts to $185 that's ludicrous. And if that was the ownet of the company that hung up on me SHAME on you for having POOR customer service and zero respect. But what comes around goes around. When something goes wrong in your life just think back at what you did to cause it. Cause and Effect you can't have one without the other. My cause was parking in the wrong space and the effect was my car getting towed that I paid for. Called this company for a truck to tow my car from one shop to another. Got a call from their driver, David, a while later who asked for the info on the tow. I explained where it was going, but when I told him the make and model of my car, he said, "Oh, that's a piece of junk." I said "excuse me?" He repeated himself, "Those are pieces of junk." I seem to recall calling a towing company, not an automotive insult service. He doesn't know me, or my situation, why I have the car I have. Running a service I need and am paying for doesn't entitle you to be rude to me. Skip these unprofessional people. read more

I'm a medical professional first time on Retrat View to see a sick patient, I was trying to find out the house, so left the car for just 10 minutes to go on foot find the number and when I came back to park, the car was gone and I had waist 2 hours to get it back from a junk place in Sanford. Checking my car I found out they had caused some damage to the from pumper and the paint. read more

I called these guys because I really needed help moving my Toyota Sienna from one end of the driveway to the next. It was only about 30 feet and normally I would've just pushed it but being a heavy mini van and the fact that I hurt my back at work didn't help. Not to mention i was home alone with no one to help. I told them my situation and They gave me a really good deal and sent a truck right away. Alex came out with a quickness and did a great job and was done in less then 15 min. Operating a fleet of vehicles, we often get stuck and use many different local companies and with our frequency, various towing companies are fair and reasonable usually in the $125-$150 range. This company was $350 and would not waiver for a simple winch out. I WOULD RECOMMEND NOBODY EVER CALL THEM AS THAT CLEARLY IS WHAT THEY WANT WITH THE RIDICULOUS RATES THEY ARE CHARGING! Be for real, this was a 5 minute job plus a little travel, you should be doing open heart surgery for $350 hour, not driving a tow truck read more

Actually the worst experience ever. My friend's car got towed so I called asking how much it is to pick it up that night considering we knew it was cash only. He tells me how much it is and I say okay and he gives no further instructions on what to do from there so my friend and I assume you go to the lot to pick it up and give the money to someone at the window like we've experienced in the past. Once we get to the address there's a pitch black yard with towed cars and no one there other than someone driving one of their company trucks. We waved him down, and yelled for him and he could visibly see us, but left the lot and started driving on the main road. We called the number for the company and a guy told us someone can be out there in 30 minutes even though someone was right there in front of us and it was 1 am. He got very rude and said "did you tell me you were going there? No. You said never mind". We didn't tell him never mind. He kept saying he never told us to go there and so we hung up and left. THEN I'm driving all the way from deep Sanford to my friend's house to drop her off when the same truck that was at the lot (who I'm pretty sure was the guy we were arguing with on the phone) honks at me at a red light from behind then proceeds to speed past my car going at least 70 mph in a 45 in between lights. I tried pulling up next to him at a red light but he wouldn't let me and kept driving like a maniac. He followed us all the way from the lot to her house which is a solid 20 min drive. ZERO STARS...Chris at Off The Chain (OTC) Towing is running a scam in Sanford. He randomly tows cars from parking spots and charges $155 to get your car back. Only takes cash and does not give change if you don't have the exact amount. Has you wait outside the gate for 30 minutes before showing up and is very rude and threatening. I was one of six other cars towed from the same parking lot. Spoke to Sanford police and they confirmed that this business is known for pulling this scam. Stay away from this business at all costs. read more
