Came across this place randomly while looking for a spot to eat dinner. The parking situation is a bit odd since there are a couple lots split between Old King's Highway and Tupper Road, but once you're in the area, you can figure it out. The atmosphere is as relaxed as your own backyard, since that's almost exactly what it feels like, except there's likely to be some live music while everyone is scattered among picnic tables on the grass or chilling out with a beer by the gas fire pit. There are two food options for delivery to your table - Off the Grid for BBQ and burgers and the Edge for pizza. I've only had a burger and pulled pork, but both were fantastic. My kids (5 & 3) devoured a cheeseburger, chicken nuggets, and truffle Mac and cheese. The set up out of a old eclectic school bus only adds to the atmosphere. My hometown is famous for barbecue and I almost never order it in other states because nothing compares. After driving by Off The Grid a million times over the last few years, I finally gave it a try. I ordered the Pig Lebowski and let me tell you that I was not disappointed. I was given a humongous sandwich I could only eat half of, and every single bite was delicious! The menu was a bit overpriced and neither me nor my kids were crazy about the mac and cheese, but the chicken fingers looked and tasted great and my kids gobbled them up! The laid back, outdoor seating area is perfect for families with young kids, so we will definitely be back! read more

What a lovely time! Beautiful evening, lots of happy people and live music too! Very eclectic. We ordered from the back end of a converted school bus. I got the fishzizzle which was blackened fresh cod on a brioche bun. My husband opted for the brisket. Both came with delicious fries in brown paper bags. Messy and wonderful. Missed the turn twice but totally worth doubling back. The sandwiches were out of this world. We had the brisket and the Pig Lebowski. Not normally the type to stan fan names but it works here. Update: They are back open for the 2019 season. Cape Cod Doughnuts will now be serving up freshly baked doughnuts every morning. One disappointing fact worth mentioning is that prices have gone up. The larger order of chicken wings with two sides was $12 last year. This year the same order has increased by a whopping $5, so it now costs $17 (over $18 with taxes). Talk about sticking it to the customers that helped get your business off to a solid start. I had to remove a star from my original review for that large price increase. Edit: As you can see, Chelsea from Off The Grid replied back about my criticism of the large price increase and they have rolled back the increase to something that is more reasonable, in my opinion. That is a sign of a business that values their loyal customers and one that I will continue to support. I'm certain that the total sales volume of delicious food will provide a well-deserved positive cash flow to the business. Don't pass this place by, folks. It's great. read more

Okay maybe 5 stars is too much after only one visit but let me tell you this place is going to be mobbed once word gets out. We got the recommended Pig Lebowski and it was amazing. The sides of fries and mac and cheese were solid. The vibe is super fun in the food came out fast. Staff was extremely friendly. This is a must stop if you're in Sandwich. If you'd like a sandwich that makes Guy Fieri blush, this is your stop. I think I've had everything on the menu to this point and you can't go wrong. For what it is---it's great! Best food truck service anywhere near here. HUGE portions for a decent price, great seating area and service with the ice cream place in the same parking lot is ingenious! Only complaint was that the soda's weren't cold and if you're serving bottled soda (the best way to go) it's important they be icy cold! We had just had baby back ribs for a couple of days over the 4th so didn't try the pulled pork or ribs but other's who did raved about them. We had the burgers, one with the portabella and they were scrumptious! They do need to offer onion as a garnish though for the burgers and hot dogs but other than that---really great fun and unusual experience! read more

OMG This place is amazing! I went for a walk last week with my daughter and stumbled upon this place. I ended up getting the Pig Lebowski and I literally already went back again yesterday to get another one. It's my new favorite. Also pretty cool that there's a little lawn area for my daughter to hang out on while i chow down. Plus the ice cream shop is in the same parking lot too. This is the coolest "food truck" I've EVER seen. It's not a food truck, but actually an old converted school bus that's got all these funky Rasta colors and Caribbean decor. I was a little worried at first because the place had only 9 reviews but decided to try it anyways. Place was delicious. We had the pig lebowski and the Mac Daddy burger and both were phenomenal! The pulled pork wasn't too smoky like true bbq the way I like it but other than than everything else was perfect. Great BBQ food truck / school bus located right off of 6A on a beautiful setting. We went for lunch and shared the wings and Sloppy Choppy sandwich. Wings were phenomenal even with out BBQ sauce. It's a very interesting concept - a colorful food truck that serves a variety of burgers and barbeque food, all to go and for eating outside on their beautifully landscaped grounds. They have entertainment on some evenings during the summer, and they also have an outdoor bar where you can buy alcohol. A great addition to Sandwich and fun experience. Lives up to Yelp description of a "5" -woohoo, as good as it gets. Had a fabulous smoked brisket sandwich today for $10~ and couldn't finish it but you can bet I took it home! Can't even imagine how big the "double brisket" is for just a few dollars more. Exactly what you want a smoke shack to be (ok huge green trailer). Just good food, assortments of soda pop, outside picnic tables with umbrellas in the shade with nice music playing. The menu is exactly what you want at a smoke shack - few good smoked meats and the sides you crave. (Hate when a place gives you a million choices - just do what you do and do it well and that's exactly what they do.) If early season is any indication of how busy they'll get in the high summer season then the only thing I can say is "your gonna need a bigger boat." :-) Will absolutely be back and bringing more friends. read more

I told her about the hair and her very nonchalant response was, "Oh, that's really gross." Didn't apologize or offer any solution. I made a suggestion of them wearing hair restraints. Super disappointed. Have been waiting all week for them to open and serve breakfast and when I ordered the Special sandwich today with eggs over medium and beef brisket hash ($8!!) I received my bagged sandwich and headed home. Only to arrive and half way through the over easy eggs dripping everywhere in my car did I realize they gave me a sandwich with two eggs. What a refreshing spot in sandwich. This place first caught my eye just driving to the canal. I had to circle back and see what this brightly colored food truck was all about. As a pescatarian I was happy to see that they had a few options for me and the blackened fish ( without bacon) did not disappoint. While I was drooling wishing the Mac daddy had a veggie version I was swooning over the atmosphere and the fries . The backstory for this place is also very cool considering one of my favorite vacation spots is in the Virgin Islands. Don't pass this place up or make the drive to sandwich!
