Wow! What can I say! Off the Hook is off the chain! Came here with my wife and daughter on a Sunday. The waitress that greeted us was super nice. I didn't get her name but she had brown/blonde hair. We ordered the 3 meat 2 side combo and it had bbq ribs, brisket and tri tip. The ribs were so moist and the brisket was just so juicy . The seasoning on the trị trip had a bit of lime and it was a good zest. The meal fed the both of us so just know the portions are huge. Highly recommend this place. Food was great! So tender with perfect seasoning. We each got our own meal and had so much leftovers. The only thing is they forgot to give us a toast and we didn't realize it. So please kitchen and servers, check for the toast. We will definitely be back! We loved the food so much my husband was inspired to make his own bbq at home (but decided it was not the best tasting and will just go out to eat for bbq lol) If you show up at 8pm you have to eat in the bar. The ambiance, food, and service is memorable. The items on the menu I indulge in the most are the curly fries, ribs, and the mexican street corn. I'd suggest looking into the combo platters. But everyone has their preference. It's my second time visiting the establishment and many more to come with others. The location is also convenient for me in distance. There was a hiccup on my bill being overcharged. Luckily it was resolved and they admit to their miscalculation after I left and contacted them. I appreciate the honesty. Maybe in the future, itemized receipts are implemented instead of just the price on a screen (cashless payment). Just incase one of either parties detects an error. It pains me to have to write this review. I ordered the. BLT $17.00 thinking that I can't go wrong with a BLT and fries boy was I wrong. On the menu, it says the BLT comes on Texas toast, that is not the case. It was regular white sandwich bread toasted, no mayo, dry, with two strips of extra crispy bacon. I had to toss it. However the gentleman that is working was very pleasant and has great customer service. I chose this over the barbecue because I did not want to be disappointed.... This was my first visit, but definitely won't be my last. The service here was great, and the restaurant itself was extremely clean. I was quickly greeted upon entry, and seated almost immediately. Being my first visit I decided to sample a few different things. The first thing I tried were the chicken taquitos, I can honestly say they were some of the best chicken taquitos I've ever had. The chicken was juicy and flavorful, and the outer shell was perfectly cooked. The avocado crema, green salsa, and pico de gallo complemented them perfectly, I would come back for those alone. For the main course I ordered the 3 meat combo plate with 2 sides. My choices of meat were brisket, tri tip, and the pork ribs. The brisket was good, but the tri tip was the star of the show for me. It has that perfectly seasoned smoky flavor you crave and come back for. The pork ribs were also excellent. The meat comes right off the bone as you would expect when tasting quality smoked ribs and the flavor was spot on. The chili was tasty and the potato salad was pretty good, perhaps just a tad too much pickle flavor for my tastes but generally good. The Apple pie was exquisite and really has that homemade taste. I was fortunate enough to meet the owner during my visit and he seems like a great guy. This place is family owned and everything is made from scratch, including the desserts. The whole family put their hearts and souls into this place and it shows. Go show this place some love, you won't regret it. read more

The brisket was not great, a bit dry and missing that good smoked flavor. I did not see the BBQ's outside running and I have never smelled BBQ when driving by so it makes me wonder... The Tri-Tip was FIRE! Some of the best tri-tip I have had, if it were a bit more affordable, I would go get it again. The sides tasted store bought and their portions were very small. 1 small bag of food was almost $200. I had the 2 meat combo with 2 sides. I chose ribs and Tri Tip. My sides were fries and slaw. It took about 10 minutes for my order. The slaw was sweet, peppery and maybe had some dill in there. It was wet, yet still crunchy. The fries were battered and fresh. The tri-tip, YUM!!!! A very distinct taste and cooked perfectly. The ribs tasted great. My only suggestion was that they precut them before serving! I'll be back to try more stuff!!! read more

I had 2 terrible experiences recently.. both occurring last week.. my friend and I came in for food and waited over 40 minutes for order to go. No exaggerating! I truly thoughtit was a once off situation. Unbeknownst to me I had to deal with the actual managing partner... no problem on the surface. Both of my interactions displayed as severe disdain for Customer Service and lack of appreciation. I was never offered an apology - only pushback, and a combative attitude. I had an opportunity to interface the owner and quoted "hi I really like your food yet last time it took a little bit longer than normal to get my food" instead of an apology I was met with an arrogant reply of "no it didn't happen like that" no apology no effort to retain customers. Clearly, this person is an absolute rookie to this industry and for that I will never come again. They literally have no clue on how to take care of their customers and the people that pay the actual bills around here.... MORONS!!! read more

And the reason why I say the weekends is because they have the combo meals that you could order with meat and sides that you could only get on the weekends :) the restaurant is almost like a hole in the wall because it's located at a place where you have to know it's there. So we stopped by Off the Hook last night at 815. It's right down the street from my house. We walked in, and as the sign says, "wait to be seated!" A few minutes go by and nobody comes to seat us. While we wait another group comes in behind us and we all wait another 5 minutes. As I looked around I notice people who are already seated waiting for service and they are all shaking their heads. We see some workers in the back and they finally notice us, but don't they come out to seat us, no they don't. We all just walked out eventually. Horrible way to run a restaurant. read more
