Dropped in here for breakfast while visiting the area on a recommendation. The place was fairly empty on a Friday morning, with a few folks popping in for coffee. The staff was very friendly and welcoming. The environment is fun, and there are plenty of clever artifacts and photos to engage the eye. On to the food... we ordered the Southwest bowl and the lox bagel. As you can see from the pictures, the portions are sizable and the value for this area was decent. I think the total bill was around $30 for two entrées, a tea, and tip. The bowl has beans, tomatoes, avocado, potatoes, eggs, and cheese. It comes with a Mexican sauce and sour cream. We used a little of the sauce, as we found the dish a bit bland. Both eggs and black beans needed a little salt to enhance their flavors. While it was good, it was very soupy. The beans were not drained well, which I'm guessing--combined with the tomatoes--caused it. The lox bagel was beautiful but very hard to eat. The owners might want to consider dicing the tomatoes, onions, and cucumbers, as there's no way to eat this without deconstructing it. The salmon was good quality. Next time, I'd get a seasoned bagel instead of plain--it would probably be epic on an everything bagel. There are many other options for breakfast or lunch, and we would probably come back to try something different. read more

We love Offerdahls and have visited for years. We typically come here for breakfast, as they have great eggs, and breakfast bowls, but I have enjoyed many a salad from here as well. The iced coffee is especially good, and on a nice day, I t's great to sit outside and take advantage of the free refills. The restaurant is counter service, and I've only ever encountered friendly people at the register. There's plenty of parking either on the side street or within the shopping plaza at Beacon Light. They have dinner specials. We recently had the pasta with shrimp and it was a great deal for the price. My husband also enjoyed the steak meal another evening. It was just fine. I thought the cold brew coffee was only ok. I wasn't a huge fan of the chai latte but I am very particular about those. I saw two other patrons who had Wawa and Dunkin coffee so I guess I'm not the only one who wasn't impressed by it. The bagel was very good and the service was very fast. First off the food is excellent and the service is fast and friendly. my problem is when its 98 degrees outside and I walk into a restaurant I want to feel refreshed/cool. Not here. I can order my food and sit down and by the time I'm done I am sweating. It shouldn't be like that. Today I said something. I asked the women at the front weather she could make it cooler in the restauran. She said no it was because the door was opening and closing all the time. i asked her to ask the manager, and she said ok. I sat in the back and noticed the thermostat said 77degrees. when she delivered my food I showed her the "77 degrees " and she said she would say something to the manage. either the manager didn't want to help or didn't care but nothing was done. I'm sure that lowering it to 74 or 75 would make people come back more often. I finished my meal sweating and left. not sure I'll be back. Sorry Mark p.s. I had the absolute pleasure of stopping by the Lighthouse Point location this morning...and was dazzled by the spectacular service from the lovely Cashier Alicia. Cheap, cheap, cheap...... they have come to cutting corners and insulting old time customers. Offerdahl's has gone out of the serving customers to penny pinching its customers. Longtime customer.... Now giving up on Offerdahl's..... went to ask for additional small hummus and they wanted to charge extra.... Something that costs less than 10 cents but were too cheap to accommodate. There are plenty of customers friendly places/restaurants around Lighthouse Point, next time give one of them a change instead of the penny pinching Offerdahl's location. read more

I have been going to Offerdahls in Lighthouse Point for years. It used to be very good both food and service. Yesterday's experience was lacking in both. The scrambled eggs were bland and tasteless. The cheese potatoes were the same. The only good things were the bagels and coffee I have met John Offerdahl many times and know he would want to know this. read more

A co-worker was ordering and Uber Eats had a buy one get one free on the salmon sandwich. The biggest disappointment was how little you get for how much they charge. It's was $16 before the Uber Eats fees and all you got was a tiny salmon sandwich and a small bag of chips. I would have been okay with the sandwich size if it came with fries and a drink. This was definitely not worth the cost. The sandwich wasn't necessarily bad but after eating it and the chips, I was still hungry. The portion is just too small in my opinion. First time visit. Terrible foods and highly processed For example, their "cheesy potatoes" kind of tasted like potatoes BUT how do they call it cheese? Before ordering, I asked what kind of cheese? I asked, Swiss , cheddar? The girl said I don't know, it is "yellow". It is DEFINITELY NOT cheese. It is some sort of yellow sauce they call cheese and it was served barely warm. Yuck! This place could be better, but it could definitely be worse. It has some redeeming qualities. Andrew at the register greets you the second you walk in. He is very friendly, energetic and enthusiastic; and a very hard worker, he never stops moving. But when tasked with too many things at once he can get flustered and overwhelmed. It took four attempts to get my latte, and I'm pretty certain it still wasn't correct, but I didn't want to complicate things further. Now I say this only in the hope other people will have compassion, I do believe he may be on the spectrum or have a processing disorder. I'm happy to see this establishment continues to work with and value Andrew even though he openly states his limitations. He's definitely a good addition to the team. The lovely man with dreads at the prep line saved the day continuing to follow up on my coffee drink and offered me additional food to make up for the snafu/long wait. I'd say the manager could be a little more congenial, but he's efficient and involved, so there's that. My biggest disappointment was the scallion cream cheese, there were almost no scallions/chives in it. Pretty much just plain cream cheese, with the rare green fleck. The bagel was adequate, I wasn't expecting it too be too authentic anyhow. It definitely had a generous portion of shmear and was properly toasted. So this can definitely fill a hole in the area when you don't want a national chain for coffee/breakfast. Just have patience and understanding. read more

Ok love love love this place! If you are looking for a cute cafe in pompano/lighthouse point this place is a must. I had a sweet honey ham and cheese sandwich on a French baguette and let me tell you... DELICIOUS! But you know what was the best part.. the service was so amazing. The woman who served us was so friendly and accommodating. Letting us know recommendations and giving a us all the help. It really made my day. For the corner that it occupies, you'd think it would be larger inside than it is. And it was full house at lunch time when I stopped by recently. I was heading to a movie and was looking to grab a quick lunch near Copans Rd and Federal Highway in Pompano. When I saw Nancy M's review on my Yelp app, I knew this would be my stop. In fact, it sounded so good in her review, that I wound up ordering exactly what she'd gotten -- the Nova Nosh. I'm familiar vaguely with this chain, but had never eaten here, nor at any of his other restaurants. Usually a sports person's namesake restaurant makes it solely because of curiosity of their former fans. He started off with a small bagel shop in Weston in 1990 while still playing football. It grew to 10 stores. He started this concept in 2000 and now has 6 stores (one coming soon to the FLL airport according to the menu). So you could say, he's found another winning franchise. I had originally planned to dine in, but road construction and traffic had me running a little late, so I got my food to go. You order and pay at the register. Ordering is fast and easy. You pick up there as well. The nova nosh was served open faced, and came exactly as ordered -- no onions. I got to choose my bagel from a rack of selections. I chose a multigrain one. Each bagel half was piled high with cream cheese, capers, a big red tomato slice, salmon, and topped with thinly sliced cucumbers. Just what I was craving. Cold and refreshing. I ate half and saved the rest for later. I'll definitely come back to try some other dishes -- but next time when I know I can sit down and enjoy. read more

I eat breakfast or lunch here at least once to twice a week in a very friendly and excellent local restaurant in Lighthouse Point. The staff is friendly and helpful and are constantly cleaning the restaurant. The manager, she is fabulous she greets me by name and they have a fantastic rewards program. Today I went for breakfast with my husband and daughter and they told me I had a seven dollar credit from their grate rewards program. It really works If you are so lucky you will see him or her offerdahl at the restaurant checking on how things are doing. They are hands on owners and it shows. Their salads with the protein added are delicious, large and filling. But with really nice healthy choices. I tend to get the poppyseed bagel, scooped, with either egg salad or tuna. Both are prepared fresh daily. My only negative, $1.59 for a lettuce leaf added to a sandwich? I know you need to charge for add-on tomato, onion and lettuce but that seemed a little steep. I stopped in this morning for a ham, egg and cheese croissant. Over $10!! are you serious. Over $10 for 1 breakfast sandwich. I think this guy got hit in the head too much playing football. I don't know who's hurting this country more, Joe Biden or John Offerdahl! At $4.00 per dozen, that's $.33 cents per egg, $.50 cents for a slice of cheese and a processed ham slice and maybe $.75 cents to make a croissant. These are retail estimates, not wholesale restaurant supplier prices. (CBI, or Sysco) So charge your customers $10 for a sandwich that doesn't cost you near $1.75 to make. Yeah, blame it on inflation. We are not stupid. You are price gouging and taking advantage of the system .... ANYWAY you want to look at it. read more
