Greeted and seated very quickly. Served my coffee very quickly. (Coffee was terrible, tasted very chemically) I got a Western omelet with cheddar cheese. The cheese was on the outside of the omelet (not my preferred style), the ham was diced in tiny pieces, the onions were bigger (not my preferred style) I got hash browns (McDonald's are better) The toast was buttered but they use really gross butter. I like it when I discover a good, new, local business. I liked this place. The food was great. The food service was very fast, and the atmosphere was friendly. It feels like this business has been here a long time. The customer seems to know the staff well. It is a nice friendly feeling when you have that connection. I was here for breakfast. I had the Sunshine Stacker it was good and a good size. That hashbrown was good. They made it crispy and good. It was a good dish. I was happy. The restaurant has a nice pet friendly outdoor sitting area. The inside is a good size. It is full of holiday cheers. They have really decorated the place out and it looks great. I have been here before but I won't be back. My husband and I arrive to a small wait, 15 min. I had a guy in front of me and he was seated. A group of 4 people walked up and I heard the gentle man say the hostess knows me I come here all the time. The next available table was given to them and the hostess wouldn't even make eye contact with me and my husband. They don't take reservations this is first come first serve. We finally tried this small local diner for breakfast after talking about it for months and were pleasantly surprised. Weekends we pass by and usually see a line waiting outside but we hit it right and got a table immediately. Our server was prompt and friendly. We ordered a sesame bagel sandwich with smoked salmon, tomato and cream cheese along with eggs Benedict and hard to find delicious grits which were another good surprise. There is some seating out front where you can bring your pup, and indoors has a huge mural / photo of the Lighthouse Point lighthouse and surrounding area. Wow! I did not know they served lunch because I did not see the lunch menu on-line. We ordered a patty melt and turkey club. Coffee was excellent and so was counter-made cola. Large portions and 4 waitpersons 3 cooks and an excellent on-floor expeditor jack of all trades. They are a well-oiled machine and do a full house. It appears they do reserve tables and counter seats...not sure if you have to be a regular or they let anyone do it. By the way prices are very reasonable. read more

Clean and updated, this local joint is full of local, friendly faces and mom & pop friendly service. The food is fresh, homemade and delicious! On our last visit I had scrambled egg whites with feta, mushrooms & chicken sausage with a side of the juiciest tomatoes and saved the rest for breakfast the next day (the portions are very generous!). I met a buddy from high school here this morning and we started with the fresh fruit plate which had cantaloupe, grapes, bananas and fresh blood orange sections! I ordered the avo toast (minus the 2 eggs it came with). It was packed with fresh avocado, fresh spinach, tomato cubes and a balsamic drizzle atop a slice of whole wheat toast! Delicious!!! My friend Robert had the omlette with salmon, onions and fresh spinach. It looked delicious. He also had the hash brown patties (it came with two) that were cooked golden brown! The spot was packed and we sat at the bar. We both had iced teas to drink and the service was impeccable. We had a waitress that loved music as much as we do and we had a great conversation with her as we feasted. IF you are in the Light House Point area and are hungry for a delicious breakfast or even a lunch spot THIS is where you need to go. Clean and nicely lit with tables and booths as well as counter seating you cant go wrong here! I will definitely return! I probably will sit at the counter again I liked the waitress that much! I stumbled across this little gem called the Red Fox Diner when I was in Lighthouse Point. They're open everyday from 6a until 2pm for breakfast and lunch. On Sundays they only serve breakfast. This diner is small, and they have some outdoor seating. This place is dog friendly. You can bring your dog if their well behaved, and sit outside on their covered patio. They will even give your dog some water. They've been in business for over 50 years, and I can see why. You can definitely see and feel how friendly the staff is when they're interacting with their customers. Many customers are local and on a first name basis with the staff. My waitress HEATHER was a delight. She immediately took my drink order and brought me a cup of hot coffee and water. The coffee was very good and served in a cute mug. The menu is simple, but everything is cooked to order and executed perfectly. For breakfast I ordered a Ham & Cheese Omelette with Hash brown Patties. (You get a choice of home fried potatoes, hash brown patties, grits, oatmeal, or sliced tomatoes. You also get a choice of toast. A bagel, raisin bread, or croissant is an extra charge.) My omelette was cooked perfectly, and it was stuffed with ham and cheese from one end to the other. My hash browns were crispy. My bf chose Two eggs with meat- 2 eggs plus bacon, ham or sausage, with 1 side dish & toast. He chose ham, and grits. He throughly enjoyed his breakfast. HEATHER kept coming over and checking on us to make sure we had everything we needed. My coffee was continuously refilled. I got to checkout some of their other dishes customers ordered. 2/13/2020- Went for lunch. Busy place. There's a counter with about 6 to 8 stools. Outside seating as well. I ordered the chicken and artichoke with cheese spinach wrap came with one side . I had the vegetables which had a white carrot which was interesting string beans and broccoli My companion had turkey club with only two pieces of bread and they cut that into four squares for look nice with french fries all good service was excellent . Had a great breakfast Egg and White American Cheese ( no we're has white American mmmm so much creamier) Canadian bacon which was an up charge which was fine on a English muffin so good . A friend recommended this place and we went on a Friday morning. We were a party of 5 (including a toddler). We walked in and there was one large table to accommodate us and it was open and we were sat right away. The hostess at the door was so pleasant. My granddaughter was playing with the large menu and she noticed and went and grabbed a kids menu with some crayons for her to play with. There are so many great things in the menu, I wasn't sure what to order. Ordered coffee right away to give me some time to peruse the menu. I decided on two items as I still couldn't pick just one. Went with the coconut French toast and biscuits and gravy. BEST gravy I have ever had. Went to three other breakfast restaurant over the course of the weekend and I ordered biscuits and gravy and no other compared to here. Next time I'm in Florida, I will return here for this biscuits and gravy!!! Also took home a souvenir. The coffee mugs were so cute that I had to buy one. Stopped here for lunch with a girlfriend as it was convenient for our shopping route. It's on the north side of sample road just east of US 1 in a strip center. A number of the other storefronts were empty so finding a parking space out front a couple doors down just before noon wasn't a problem. The inside was clean and spacious. Bigger inside than I thought it would be. It was a seat yourself anywhere you wished kind of place. The server was very friendly. We ordered off the menu but they had a few specials posted on the door and on the wall plus on a tabletop print out. My girlfriend chose a small Greek salad with added scoop of tuna. It was a salad of mixed greens. It was a bit smaller than she'd expected but it was very inexpensive as well. I ordered their soup and half sandwich special. I was disappointed in their small cup of Italian wedding soup. Instead of mini meatballs, they had strips of sausage, I think - wasn't sure what the meat was and instead of the usual small round pasta, they have the tiniest little star shaped pasta bits. It tasted okay, but just... The tuna salad sandwich however, served on rye was wonderful. Very good tuna salad but again a very tiny half sandwich. With two iced teas, the total cost was only about $20 which was quite cheap. I'd probably try this place again, but take a look at what others were eating to get a better idea. Good Sunday Morning scouting for a new place to try. Drove all the way to Delray just to turn around and end up in Lighthouse Point. Found this place off of US1 and Sample. Nothing fancy, just a friendly old school diner with your typical breakfast diner menu. They were sort of implementing the new normal of dining out. Face masks, sanitizing of all tables and chairs and an added touch hand sanitizer on the usable tables. The ONE THING that I did notice is that the servers were NOT wearing the masks correctly (not covering their noses) and one who had just gone on a trip was not wearing her mask going back and forth. Cooks were all covered and gloved (good job kitchen staff). I ordered the Bisquits and sausage gravy that came with 2 eggs. It was a healthy portion for sure and seasoned to perfection. My partner in dining ordered the coconut French toast and said it was delicious! Lots of locals here and seem to know one another so it's got to be good and consistent with the food and service! The restaurant is clean, the service was prompt, pricing fair, portions healthy so I would definitely return. I give them a solid FOUR STAR rating. I've stopped by Red Fox Diner a number of times. Though it is a diner, they really have a fabulous kitchen staff. The food you get has a quality about it more like a restaurant staffed with chefs rather than a diner with a staff of short order cooks. They have a super large menu for a diner though most of the foods are breakfast and luncheon foods which would coincide with their abbreviated hours of operations, being from 6:00AM until 2:00PM. On my first occasion I had their Turkey Rubin ($9.75) which, for that price, came with a more than generous amount of sliced turkey along with kraut and Swiss cheese served on a grilled rye along with a side of 1,000 Island dressing. On my most recent visit, which was on a Saturday morning for breakfast, the place was packed. I managed to get the last seat available which was located outside along the strip mall sidewalk. After I was seated, a long line formed of people waiting to get in, which is a testament to how popular Red Fox is not only on season but off season as well. For my meal I order their Alaskan Benedict which was comprised of two soft boiled poached eggs smothering over with Hollandaise sauce atop two English muffins, a good quality smoked salmon, tomato and spinach. It really proved delicious and goes down in my book as being one of the best Benedict dishes in the area. I finally walked down the block to try this diner out because i live rt down the block. I always see it busy with guests eating outside ala fresco and it just seems like a good place for a nice breakfast. I'm glad I tried it out because I'll definitely be returning :) I tried the corn beef hash with eggs over medium and that cane over a hash brown and choice of toast. The restaurant itself has ample parking, outside seating if weather permits, very clean and comfortable on the inside with welcoming decor. I had Country Fried Steak based on the strong recommendations by the gentlemen sitting on either side of us...it truly was delicious. And it wasn't too heavy, as many are.
