This place is horrible in more ways than one. The only thing this place is good for is paper and general office supplies. Do not bother talking to any of their employees because they are simply inept. They could save money by hiring monkeys and have the same result. If you order anything online, their customer service is probably on par with Charter but with people in the USA that don't give a shit. Just do not go here... I am an elementary school teacher. Every year I purchase uniformed pencil boxes for my students to use for the school year. I prefer them in matching colors so I take the time to go through several boxes. Sometimes I even have to visit several stores to reach my goal. I was in the area and decided to go in and see if they had what I needed. I asked the young clerk if they had them available. She assured me that they had PLENTY. I let her know that I needed 24 blue boxes. They find the tall ladder and look into one box. They were able to find four blue pencil boxes in the first box they opened. She lets me know that there are several more boxes so we begin to look through them. Then a few minutes later she tells me that her supervisor tells her she can NOT take anyone more boxes down from their supplies because they are at "back to school season". The young girl didn't know what to say but wasn't allowed to finish helping me find what I needed. What in the world?? I was ready to purchase 24 boxes at $3 each and they were NOT willing to help?!? I don't get it! I also had a cart full of other school supplies as well. read more

What you see here is pretty much what you would expect, fairly inexpensive office supplies, pens, printer paper, etc. I find its location to be pretty convenient. Those of you looking for fountain pens and high quality inks however should look elsewhere, they have some, but they are not great nor can the staff tell you much about them. The goes for most specialty items. Butt the generic stuff that they do sell, seems to be for a different price. The good news is their customer service (particularly manager Mike) is so understanding and outstanding that they gave me a break. The store's clean and no one's mentioned it but (I guess since they're a little out of the way in La Crescenta) you almost never have to wait long, if at all, to pay since it's never crowded when I've been. read more

This place is hit or miss and usually miss. Today they overcharged me for two paper color copies that for years have only cost about 3 dollars each. Today they happened to be 12.99 each. On top of that the copies were of poor quality and washed out. Then I needed help to get an external CD/DVD drive which I specifically asked for. The worker who was barely paying attention takes me to the external back up hard drives. No I say, I need a drive that can play a CD or DVD. She then picks up a CD/DVD writer and hands it to me. I ask her if this plays DVDs and CD's. She takes a look at it. "No," she says. Well why did you hand it to me and start walking away? . "We don't carry those." No offer to special order or anything. The Sylmar store is much better and I highly recommend it. Located the CD / DVD drive on Amazon- 27.99. Imagine if I didn't really know what I was looking for and would have bought what she had handed me? If anyone above store management reads these you should know your customer service is horrible and unethical high charges are now the norm in the copy/print area. Nothing but respect for the people that work here. The place is clearly understaffed and many time when I go in there there's more than one disgruntled customer, but the employees here all handle stressful situations with a lot of grace. Today I was said disgruntled customer. Irritated about an erroneous charge, I called upset and was short with the women who helped me the previous day. However, when I went in to complete my refund she was nothing but kind and generous to me, though I had been quite rude to her over the phone. She handled my transaction swiftly and gave me a discount for my trouble. Her customer service was a true testament to putting people before the product, and not to be too sentimental, but it was kind of inspiring! read more

On Sunday morning I stopped by for a stapler, paper clips and one copy of a doc. I wandered the store looking for what I needed so headed to the copy area and solved that task. I wandered the store looking for my other items. Never saw an employee. Finally found one in a corner and he pointed me toward the area I needed. The store organization makes no sense. I got to the register where there were 3 people in front of me. I waited in line for 20 minutes. When I got to the one open register, it turns out that the stapler I had picked up that the tag said $15 was $25. We were at Office Depot today getting our papers laminated. In the department of laminating and etc. this lady named Kandis helped us. She never warned us that if the paper had beads or etc., it will get ruined. When it came out of the machine, the beading was ruined, all three beads were scattered. Also, she charged extra. She told us it is $23.00+tax. But she told us later that she meant 23 square feet. We had another incident a couple weeks ago. Don't know why I came back. :[. Every time I call or go there, the employees are all incredibly knowledgeable and eager to help. This time in the middle of this crisis I needed to affordable and inexpensive chrome books for my kids to be able to do distance learning with their school. I called and was given the information I needed and was told to were in stock. When I went down to the store they had them ready for me and answered a few questions. The cashier check me out with a big smile and the computers have been exactly what we needed for my boys to continue their schooling, remotely. Thank you very much to your entire staff. Fine - as long as you don't need help. There was a bin with a bunch of car cell phone mounts In it that was marked "USB cables $19.99". I assumed they would have the correct price at checkout. They didn't - but I wasn't complaining about it. The manager acted like that's why he was called over. It was a price check not a grape, so why was he so on the defensive? When I told him what the problem was, he said "yes people like to just throw things into bins" meaning it was the fault of their pesky customers. I said someone must have gone to a lot of trouble just to put 10 car mounts into the wrong bin marked usb chargers. He responded "these aren't USB chargers". OK, first of all, duh: listen to your customers. Second, don't blame us for obvious mistakes made by your staff. It's a minor detail I don't care, I'm not criticizing them I just need help. Geez. Two trips to this store attempting to spend $200.00. The first visit no one had the time to assist me with product identification and pricing as many items were marked one price and were actually another and signs for product not in stock and I walked out. The second time I actually got help with product identification and actual pricing but had to take a tag to the register to purchase and get my item. After waiting in line I was told by the cashier that someone would go and get my product and that they were going to ring up the next customer while they went and got my product. 8 customers later and no product. This review is for the experience at the printing department and a less than helpful employee named candance. Had previously printed an item at this store the week prior with no issue. Went to pick up another round of the same printing and this time was met with an obnoxious employee who seemed to think she had a side gig as a copyright patent lawyer. The images we were printing were Creative Commons image this means they are free to use and reproduce in various formats from digital to print. Speaking to this halfwit who barely grasped the concepts of copyright law and refusing to print even after explaining this to the employee was met with nothing but a rude obnoxious tone. Have used this store for multiple printing needs personal and business and will be taking that elsewhere to the many other printing business in the neighborhood. If Office Depot are going to act like the copyright police they better train their staff to be copyright lawyers before they go refusing customers who clearly are more clued in to free use images than the halfwits employed here. read more

They said I would have to wait until 9 am, (it was then 8:25), when some one else showed up at work. What does "open" mean? Partly open? Open only for certain items? Open for waiting? I said "Nice management" to the employees hanging around and left. I found exactly what I needed on Amazon in about 30 seconds. The only reason I gave 2 stars is because parking was so easy. This review is for Micle in the printing department! I always get my prints taken care of in a timely fashion and he ALWAYS does what I need and honors the coupons. I work for a small business and it really helps to have someone recognize and take note of when we come in and how we usually do things. Because we print ALOT. Hes super fast. Also the staff where I work has had good interactions with Christian, who also always helps us and treats us right! I'll always request these guys. read more

I came into purchase ink for my Epson printer & stamp ink. Danny greeted me and asked what it was I was looking for. I mentioned the ink pad and he walked me over to them (instead of pointing to the aisle), which I appreciate because last time I was directed to an aisle and couldn't find them. Next, I went to the register to check out & get replacement printer ink. The cashier said there was none in stock of 1 of 2 I needed. Another employee came and said they would check the back; no luck. So I went on my phone to search Amazon to see what my options were (this would determine if I was to purchase the one which was in stock or none and get everything online). Danny came up and asked what I was looking for & I informed him I was looking for the "Epson 273 Black" but that 2 employees already checked. He said he would double check. Within 10 seconds he came out of the stock room & had the ink in his hand!!! I was so happy that I asked if there was a survey I could take (There were no other customers around so he took the initiative to double check). I've worked retail management for 15 years & know that sometimes it those special employees who care about the customer which make all the difference to keep customers. Please keep employees like Danny around, it will keep customers like me coming back to the store instead of going to the online competitor. (Which I was literally doing in store thinking you were out of what I needed). read more

So and So Sorry for Office Depot department that doesn't know how unprofessional worker and manager is working in printing section in this branch on foothill I stopped there for doing label printing things and a skinny Chins boy with big glasses started helping me I gave my flash memory to him to import my file to the Office word program and i ask him to print every single name in every single label paper then he said I can't do it for you it must be done by you And i told him i have no idea how to adjust my format and details with your printer because i have no idea what kid of printings you are using then he said i can print whole in a sheet and you should cut it by your self and then I said its ok print it for me i will cut them by myself he printed whatever I want but I noticed that the font size are a little bit big and I asked him please print other one with just 2 or 3 size smaller font then he said till now whatever I've done for you was not in my duty and there is a policy that doesn't allow me to edit a file for you And i said please do a favor for me I came here from long distance and don't have any access to laptop and any other devices to make the font smaller it won't take a long time from you to just make a little bit smaller and then he said i cant you should do it and then i asked him can you let me edit the file i can edit it and you just print it for me then he started reminding me the policy not to edit any file i was rush I should have had that papers be for 3 pm otherwise I will go back and make the whole corrections and edits by myself but the boy did want to understand me I asked him to call the manager he called him and it takes 10 mint to be in front of me on the other hand, changing a font size in Office word won't take 2 sec long . I explained everything to the manger he said the same thing that his worker told me already whole the pages printing cost me $3.60 I gave them 4 dollars and o leave there un happy and unsatisfied even the manager did try to give my 40 cents back and gave me my receipt I asked them a favor but they didn't care about me and my situation again I'm so sorry for Office Depot I will buy a label print from amazon or ebay i wont back for any kind of printing services there read more

If you ever go here, ask for Julian(usually works mornings). He is excellent and gives great advice. He really knows the store and can help find anything quick. He does not mind helping with carry out and loading no matter what it is. Overall great staff. read more
