Today, September 17, 2025, I went to Staples, to the UPS department, to return items I had purchased from Amazon. I had carefully packed the items at home according to the Amazon return instructions. When I arrived, before even scanning my QR code, the employee at the counter spoke to me in a rude manner and told me I had to unpack my items. She handed me scissors and insisted that I open the boxes. This was very unpleasant, especially since I had put effort into packing them properly. After I unpacked everything, I showed her the QR code. Only then did she inform me that I had to go to a standalone UPS Store to complete my return. If she had scanned my QR code first, she would have seen right away whether or not my return could be processed there. Instead, I was forced to unnecessarily unpack items, and later I had to go back home, re-pack them again, and drive to another location. As a very busy person, I cannot afford to waste time like this. I respectfully ask management to review this situation and address the unprofessional behavior of this employee. read more

I went to this store on Friday January 30, 2026 at 6:40 pm to drop off my UPS package. This lady Tissy or Teccy was not helpful at all. I had UPS drop off and she wouldn't take it from me. She asked me to hold all individual packages up in the air so she could scan it. Did not want to touch anything. At the end I asked her if she could trash my bag that was sent to me with my original package, again she refused it and said there should be a trash can outside. Terrible Customer Service. The 5 ft. lady with the Ray Ban Camera Glasses was rude when I asked her to have something printed in regular card-stock. She was being condescending and offering no help. She claimed that cardstock could not be printed until the next day if the order is placed after 12 pm. BUT Harut next to her had just told another customer she could print the same day in cardstock. Minutes later she told another customer that they couldn't print if its after 5 pm. I have same day printing after 12 on cardstock in this exact location. Poor customer service. I clipped a coupon on their app that says I could get a 2 pack of gel pens free if I made a purchase, but for some reason the coupon didn't work, even though I satisfied the condition for the coupon. The 5' girl with the ray ban glasses referred to in another recent review didn't know why it wouldn't work and didn't want to spend time investigating further, so she just said "the coupon doesn't apply" and left it at that, so I cancelled my transaction and left the store. Ended up going to another Staples in Burbank where the associate there did spend time to figure out what was going on with the coupon and I got my free pens after making a purchase. Avoid the N. ATTIRE Totally casual, so I would normally be in a t-shirt, boardshorts, and flip-flops. OVERALL Staples' Glendale location served its purpose and did it well enough for my needs. If I didn't manage my own and family's businesses, respectively, I probably wouldn't have much of a need for various office supplies, but that simply wasn't the case. He put me in touch with someone from corporate who was able to corroborate what happened and issued a refund within about 30 minutes. I went or a different staples location to try to print my business card and I was told to place the order online in spite of me having my flash drive to print. So, I did place my order online to and place the order to pick up in Glendale. I called the staples in Glendale to check on my order status but there was an issue where the logo wasn't printing out properly. While I'm grateful for Staples' generosity in granting UPS shipping discounts for express items, consider this review a cautionary tale. It turns out, the convenience of inputting your own addresses comes with a catch - you might inadvertently send that $50.00 package straight to your own doorstep. It's like a UPS magic trick, only without the fun. So, while Staples has you double-checking addresses, don't be so fixated on the destination that you accidentally send a pricey package on a round-trip to your own place. Print services were terrible. This has me second-guessing going to any Staples anywhere in the world. We were the only one at the print counter, and had to wait 15 minutes for anybody to help us. We showed them the "your order is ready" but it took them 30 minutes - half an hour! - to find the order. We heard every excuse: "it's not in the system," "are you sure it's this store?" "somebody must have picked it up already!". One person who was helping us simply gave up looking and said "bye" and left the store. It took another 10 minutes to get somebody else to look. I think everybody in the store was looking for the order. Fortunately, we had the printout of the order completion confirmation and kept waving it. We were not going to give up, especially since they had waited to the last minute to print it before going over their statutory deadline. In the end, we were lucky based on the other reviews on here; apparently when they don't get around to print your order, they simply cancel it. Finally, after 10x as long as it would have taken them to reprint the order, they found it and shoved it in our face before stomping off. *One* grumpy employee I can forgive, but not a whole store. Went there 20 minutes before closing to get an office chair as a gift. I know I know, I hate it when people walk in right before closing. Anyhow, we found a perfect chair and took the box to the cashier. They were busy so the manager (I think he was the manager. Nice man by the name of Sarkis) jumped right on the register and started to help us. (That's A+ service in my book) That's not all though, my husband asks him if they can PLEASE assemble it. Keep in mind this is 15 minutes before closing at this point. Without hestitation, Sarkis said no worries and got someone to come in and start the assembly. (That's bonus point point #2) Here is bonus point #3!!!! My husband being a cheapskate he is LOL asks Sarkis that the price for this chair is cheaper online. No problemo!!! He matches the price. This is literally one of the best retail experiences I have EVER had. More retail shops should follow the example of Staples and Sarkis and awe their clients with superb service. I'm SOOOOOO happy I stopped by insread of ordering online. (And last bonus point. My husband and I were waiting outside while the assembled the chair (since the store was closed now) and it was a bit chilly. Don't waste your hard earned money with this location. The team associate and manager does not care at all about helping with online orders. I placed an online order on Monday, June 8th and the item noted "24 hour delivery" to this location. 3 days later on June 11, I called the store to ask for an update since I had not received an email indicating the item was ready for pick up. After being told the item was not available I then asked for an update on when I would get the item. I mentioned the fact it was scheduled to arrive two days before and that did not matter at all. Finally I asked for the manager and he told me there was nothing that could be done at the store level and I needed to call the online store. I understand sometime online vs brick and mortar are not connected and there may actually be nothing he can do about this item. My thought as a manager you might be a bit more empathic and offer a solution or gesture of kindness. Recap: First - No order Second - lack of empathy from employee and manager. Third - Purchase from another store and picked up the same day. Forth - Have not been issued a refund for the cancelled item and was told by the online store the item that was scheduled to arrive in 24 hours in now missing in location, so until they find it I will not get a refund... Be forewarned... if you're making copies, you use a credit/debit card to pay. AND it will hold $5.00 on your account. I went in to make a return for something I bought online because I didn't have a printer at home and couldn't' print the shipping label. So I go in... and what should have been a super simple transaction, took me almost 30 minutes. I won't get into all of that.... Just know that they made me pay to print out the label, which I was told would be about 19 cents. But the printer failed to print properly, so we had to do it again. I checked my bank account today and I have TWO $5.00 charges from Staples. I called - and was told that the way it charges, it puts a hold of $5 on your card, like a hotel might do. WHAT? So now within 24-48 hours it will adjust. And I Will Have Had To Pay For The Copy That Didn't Print Correctly!! 19 cents... it's just the principle.
