Went online to look for a printer cartridge. Staples was all out, even online. Went and found them at Office Depot. Looked and online it said La Mesa had like 12 in stock. Get there and nope! They had NONE! Ok, so I look up another store and head to National City. Get there and yep, they do have some in stock! Obviously National City has their store in order, better management. La Mesa? Nope... I guess La Mesa has no idea how to do an actual physical inventory, so avoid them unless you are into frustration caused by others. read more

Absolutely unacceptable experience with curbside pickup at OfficeMax. I placed an order online for next-day pickup and received confirmation it was ready at 8:30 AM. I arrived around 3:00 PM, followed the curbside instructions, and texted to check in. I even received a reply saying, "An associate will be with you shortly." That was a lie. I sat outside for over 20 minutes watching customers freely walk in and out of the store while no one came to assist me. Finally, I had to go inside myself--and what I saw made it even worse. The front register employee was leaning over the counter on her phone with no customers in line, while multiple employees stood behind the print counter helping just a couple of people. When I asked why I had been waiting so long, I was given a weak excuse that they "didn't get the message"--even though I clearly received a response confirming someone was coming. That's not a system failure--that's a staff failure. I spoke to a manager who offered nothing more than a basic apology and no real explanation. I also contacted customer service afterward and was told someone would follow up. No one ever did. This is exactly why retail stores are losing customers. If you offer curbside pickup, then actually follow through. Don't waste people's time with false notifications and inattentive staff. I will seriously reconsider shopping here again. read more

I asked them to turn it back and they said since it 20 minutes to heat back up they won't do it. It wasn't even close to 20 minutes until closing. Staff were very sweet! Came in to self print and printed well over $100 worth of copies. When I went to go look for a folder the gentleman on the floor restocking was very kind and let me know which aisle the folders were in and to let him know if I needed help with anything else. At the copy center, all the staff were extremely nice even though it was very busy. I asked one of the workers for a stapler and he happily helped me refill the staples once I ran out. When you're in a rush all those little details are not forgotten and very appreciated. read more

I feel like I've written a review already but maybe it was a customer review for Office Depot directly. Office depot use to have several steal deals prior to school starting... since COVID it seems those deals are few are far in between. They did offer pickup in store and eventually curbside. Items would be placed on a shelve that was not locked and you could go grab your order... it changed to being locked and associate grabs your order. Ive done all the above and maybe they had theft because I was thinking anyone could come in and grab anything and walk out with no accountability... I've mostly been here for the printing services which can be quite time consuming... but with Kinkos having closed a lot of locations and not open late (sometimes closing at 5pm) this was the next best alternative. You walk in and place your na.e on the computer system and phone number... and the staff calls out your name... and you also get a text message. Its a good system, just need more staff working in the printing services area. I know everyone is staffed but there has been times I've seen management walking around the store and no helping. I would think a managers job is also to help out when needed and you see the employees backed up... otherwise your business will fail because people will complain and stop coming. They have also been out of materials but you have to wait still to be told they can't do what you have been waiting in line for. In any event, the store is clean and and I've never encountered rude staff.. they just seem "over it" in a sense... there was one female cashier who was very upbeat when I was using a coupon and got a little aminated, wasn't expecting it because everyone is always gloom. It was a nice surprise and I wish I remembered her name! It doesn't seem like many office supply businesses left out there and Staples is still further, so I will continue supporting this business, just wish a few things would be looked at in the store and improved. read more

Everytime I come in here to get something printed they always send people on breaks when they have over 10 or more waiting to be served and they leave one person to deal with all the printing. And one employee putting go backs away. Nobody wants to help out the guy in printing. It's obvious that section of the store has no priority and priority lay elsewhere. Or maybe they just need to hired more people. The last time I was here I waited over 1 hour for my time was supposed to be 22 minute wait. This is terrible. read more

I was searching for ink for my printing and found it at Office Depot. I called in advance and the guy on the phone helping me found the ink and gave me the prices. When I arrived in the store it was pretty quiet and I didn't see anyone working there that could point me in the right direction. Finally I found the ink section and began searching for the ink myself of course I couldn't find it. I needed help; finally so one spotted me as I flagged him down he came over and found the ink cartridges. The register girl seemed annoyed and she was not very friendly. I was happy that they had the ink cartridges and with the guy on the phone but disappointed in the customer services at the store. read more

This OD pretty much seems the same as the other OD I go to in Eastlake. I came here to scan some documents on to a USB. The machine is self pay and self use. Everything is explained fairly well on the copier. For roughly 60 plus pages to be scanned I paid about $16. Pricey? Maybe. The machines worked well and I really didn't have to communicate with staff at the self use copiers. read more

0 stars if I could. Theres literally no point of curbside pick up. Even with it being an option they either take really long or just don't bring it out at all. By long I mean over 15 minutes. I literally had to get out of my car to go inside the store which defeats the purpose of using curbside pick up. Mind you when I came in it wasn't busy. The lady at the register was literally just standing there. When you print at this area it's absolutely not secure if you do pick up. It's literally hung on the wall near the entrance for anyone to literally grab. The lady at the register made me get it rather than her handing it over so just expect your paperwork visible for anybody to see so if you're printing a confidential paper just expect anyone to see it or grab it. read more

Sour experience this weekend. We were trying to purchase an office chair and the wrong price was tagged on the chair- wrong by over $200! This was realized at check out when we thought we would be paying something entirely different t We tried to talk with the manager a few times but we never got to speak with him. We would go to where he said he was only to find him somewhere else. To us customers it appeared he was avoiding us. I've always had excellent printing, laminating, copying service-- but when I moved to San Diego county, that's where I cue the biggest, saddest human sigh. The employees, in the kindest way I can describe, are distracted and don't care about their customer. Argumentative with each other, ignoring the sale, unprofessional, AirPods in their ears and they WILL ignore you regardless of how long you wait, how much you pay, or what the service is. I give 5 stars to a very helpful and sweet worker at this location that helped me out yesterday with the purchase of a file cabinet. I believe his name is David (older gentleman). First of all, I was picky about getting a box that was at the front because it looked like it was tattered. Without hesitation he helped me get the box behind it that was in good condition. He ensured it was the correct file I wanted. Upon paying, he offered to take it to my car even though I told him I had parked far! With a positive attitude he said, "It's fine, It'll serve as an opportunity to get fresh air!" I felt terrible because not only did I make him walk far but upon getting to my car I realized my trunk & rear seats had stuff due to my recent move. He helped me fit the file cabinet in the passenger's seat in a way that wouldn't obstruct my view. Anyway, I am all for service with a positive and friendly attitude especially during this COVID! This is a complaint regarding Mirna, one of the store managers at Store #963 in National City, CA. I demand that Office Depot start an investigation regarding an extremely unpleasant incident that happened exactly one month ago on June 16 between 6pm to 7pm: Long story short, I wanted to talk to a manager because one of the employees was helping everyone except me. The lady at the front said that the manager will come help me shortly. During the next 15 - 30 minutes, I had to repeatedly ask the same lady where the manager was. After getting sick and tired of waiting, I decided to walk around the store to find the manager myself. Within 15 seconds, I found Mirna slowly walking around the store in a nonchalant manner. So I politely asked her what she was doing. She said she was on the phone all this time taking an order for a customer, and that she didn't need an excuse to not help me. Flabberghasted, I barely kept my composure and said that normally I would be very angry, but that the customer service I received was ridiculous. She then all of a sudden started raising her voice saying that I had no right to talk about her employees like this and that I needed to leave. So I left and went to Staples because I needed to print out my resume for an interview next morning. But since it was within 15 minutes of closing time and the employee in charge of printing was too busy with pending jobs, she gave me close to 10 sheets of resume paper free of charge. I happily went home, printed my resume and eventually got the job. At first, I decided to forget about Office Depot and just shop at Staples. But then I started thinking, why would a manager be on the phone for such a long time placing an order for a customer in a store anyway? And if she really was, why was she slowly walking around the store afterwards instead of hurrying to the front to manage an unpleasant customer situation? And why did the lady at the front never mention to me that I had to wait because the manager was currently on the phone? I eventually realized that Mirna was actually never on the phone at all that day. Mirna is an incompetent, mendacious dummkopf and I demand that Office Depot fire her immediately. If you do not believe me, look up the phone records for Store #963 on June 16 between 6pm to 7pm and you'll realize that she was never on the phone in the first place and just hiding in the back of the store, pusillanimously waiting for me to leave. What really happened was that she got caught red-handed not doing her job, so she just wanted me to leave because she didn't know what a store manager was supposed to do. Worst service I have ever received. Went on internet to find best price for making copies, they were $.09 for simply b&w copies @ National City store. I Went there, waited 15 minutes in line and was informed that rate only applies on Internet Orders. Website says lowest price is for b&w copies, not mentioning that you have to order online. I complained and asked for $.09/copy for over 100 copies this time because I took time from work to come to their store. I was told tough luck, no specials or Senior discounts for me, go back and order online to get $.09 rate. I went home immediately and ordered 100 copies @ $.09, processed online, was informed would be there by next day. I went there 2 days later as was busy yesterday. I waited in line again for 15 minutes and was informed that they did not have an order from me at all even though I was confirmed and paid on their internet website. I was told to go home and get the order # and they would try to see what the problem was. I go home, and with all my junk mail I am unable to find order # so I am simply out the $ on this order, because I failed to write order # down somewhere and am unable to find anywhere. I went back a 3rd time to speak with Assistant Manager, and Manager, and could get nowhere, they informed me to follow their rules, no exceptions, no Sr. discount, no nothing for me; I requested they do something to balance this inconvenience to me, but was informed to do it their way, no exceptions, so I left their store never to do business with them ever again and recommend others follow suit. The absolute worst service and rip off! I emailed them to print 2 copies of one page of copy paper. They charged me $5.28 for added charges when the bill came under $2.00. I have been doing business w them for years! The clerk never told me about this extra charge and said they started charging a minimum of $5.00 regardless. Never again!
