Turns out it was the DC input from the charger to the motherboard; although I can see why he would recommend a motherboard swap but I already spent $200 to replace the screen... it still didn't work so I couldn't use it anywhere except my dock at home :( I only put on an extra star because I might not know exactly what I'm talking about but my laptops been working fine since I replaced this part alone, saving money VS coming to this repair shop. Would not recommend coming here unless you can dedicate a full 24 hours away from a screaming, nagging wife to fix things with your own two hands. I basically paid a professional to help me repair my own laptop so unless you're coming here for a desktop or tower PC, Stay far away from this repair.

When I brought it in the computer still worked and I could still use the touch screen, all it had was a crack in the screen and that was it! Steve said it would be $150 to fix. Six weeks later I called and they said that they took the protective glass off and glued it to a new screen and that all they had left was to remove the bubbles under protective glass. I thought "no big deal" all I asked was that they please be quick I'm losing money every day I don't have this computer. Two weeks go by and no call what so ever. I call and they tell me that the computer needs a whole new top and it would be $280. So I drove up there to get my computer to take to someone else because obviously they don't know what they are doing. When they brought me my computer it was totally disassembled and the screen was further damaged and the whole computer had dirt and a sticky residue all over it. I was quite upset! Steve (the owner) refused to put it back together and give me the work order on it. So I took what was once a computer over to quick fix and they told me that "who ever took this apart still has the protective glass, screws and part of the screen and all this will have to be replaced." Also they said the top plug in for the computer screen had been damaged when it was disassembled. After learning parts are still missing I called Steve to say that I'm coming to get the parts. Steve cocked and attitude and said " I can mail them to you but you better not come back to my store". So I called the cops and they had to come out while i went to ask Steve for my parts back. Steve acted dumb and said I don't have them. Sooooooooooooooooo now I have to replace the whole top because Steve at Computer Masters has no idea what he is doing. After MTS failed to contact me within 24 hours as required, I called and spoke to the office and finally got someone on the phone. We scheduled an appointment for Saturday at 5:30pm, which I confirmed with the office personnel several times while on the phone. Saturday comes and after no one arrives 15 minutes past the appointment, I called both their office and phone numbers and left messages. I also sent a text to the mobile number. I was called an hour and 15 minutes later and told that the tech was coming from Stillwater and would be another 20 minutes away. I scheduled my day according to the agreed upon appointment time. When I asked him why no one called or replied back sooner, he refused to answer and told me the work order is being canceled. DO NOT waste your valuable time and money on this company that refuses to show up on time and cancels a work order when a customer asks a question they don't want to answer. This is the most unprofessional repair company I have ever worked with and they do not deserve your business.

I asked how he knew that based on simply feeling his way around the unit. He explained that they have one in the shop with the same symptoms. "How do you know it isn't a power supply or a fuse? " "No, it is the video board. Let's set it on the floor and I'll open up the back and I'll check some capacitors." "No, I don't think so. We are done here.
