I only come here for printing and I've never had a problem regarding my prints on time. I would drop off my files in person and they would call me when it's ready for pick up. Since I'm a graphic designer, I get my art prints from here at an economical price and I'm never disappointed with the quality. They have nice things and is organized but is too overpriced and the staff is very slow. The woman who prints are papers is very very slow. She was gossiping with the lady in front of me and I waited for a good half an hour just for her to tell me she can't help me. So when I first wrote my review, I had experienced a small inconvenience. But since then I've been back like every week and I haven't had any problems. My printer is still no bueno and don't see a brand new spanking printer in my near future. So as a tutor, I need to print tons of documents, worksheets and other handy dandy papers that help me with my students. The purpose for majority of my visits is for the print station- which can get a little busy sometimes (I've waited like 10 minutes before). But the employees are super friendly and don't take their sweet time getting your files handed to you. They also don't rush you out for the next customer- like they do at nail salons. They're efficient. Also, earlier this week I emailed them some papers pretty early on Monday morning (before they even opened) for printing but couldn't make it that day. I went back the next day on Tuesday to pick up some other papers I emailed them. The following day on Wednesday I was going crazy looking for those papers I emailed them on Monday. I could have sworn that I picked those up on Tuesday too. Apparently, I didn't. On Christmas Eve I picked up a booklet I made for a friend of mine as a Christmas gift and the worker at the print station recognized my name and said she still had my papers! Oh my goodness this seriously lifted so much stress off my chest! I love the fact that I can email them my files and not have to worry about my flash drive being lost or damaged on the way to the store (because you just never know what can happen- I have that kind of luck). Anyway, I've shopped here once for supplies and found what I needed! I was so relieved considering that I couldn't find it at CVS or Target. Also, as a crafter I have tons of projects that I plan to get done in 2012. I'll definitely be coming here for their help, maybe I'll give them 5 stars in the near future. :) read more

I walked in the door (3 /18/2019 8pm) and asked an employee where the ring video doorbells were located. She didn't know what that was, so she got on her radio and talked to a store manager. What made this hilarious was that the store manager was probably about less than 10 feet away. From where I was standing near the woman employee, I could clearly see AND HEAR both the woman employee and the male store manager talking into their radios to each other instead of one of them just walking 10 feet towards the other. It was hilarious!! Then the store manager told her to tell me (remember they are both so close to me that I can clearly hear them both talking without having to listen through their radios) that the store doesn't carry the ring video doorbell or any smart home security products. So I said OK thank you, AND then walked about 10 feet forward in the store where I encountered this big obvious endcap display (see my photos below) featuring the Ring video doorbell as well as several other ring smart home security products, behind which was an aisle featuring a giant glass case featuring an even larger variety of Ring and other brands smart home security products. Lame. Doing a memory board for someone in the hospital, needed same-day photo service for a lot of photos. Their window is 3-5 hours for same-day service. It was almost 5 hours, I'd heard nothing so I called to get status. The person on the phone said "we weren't able to print them, can you email them". !!! I mentioned I'd requested a rush on this order and that I'd submitted it 5 hours ago and that someone should have called me. I hung up and called back and requested the manager. Turns out the photo printer wasn't even working that day. So not only did they ignore my order for 5 hours, they then lied to me. Never again. read more

Helpful employees in the printing department but location could use a serious clean up. I understand you can't pick your neighbors (vagrants, day laborers, etc...) but maybe you can try and clean up after them? Entrance is filthy and plenty of trash on the perimeters to choose from. The overflowing trash bins coupled with the used chewing gum collection in the parking lot are bonuses. read more

Just left this store unable to buy what I wanted. They do not price match with amazon which is dumb. And when I showed them the price of Walmart they try to make a dumb reason to not price match them also. Basically the manager here sucks. I will never come here anymore. I rather spend my money elsewhere than here. Don't waste your time and money here. Product I wanted was $32 here and amazon had it for $21 and Walmart had it for $19.50. Seriously, they threw me for a loop today. First time at this location, I walked in to have some things printed and laminated, and found a long line. First thought is Oh Great This Is Gonna Take A While... all of a sudden an employee comes up, asks each of us what we need to do, and distributes us around to get things done. I emailed them my documents, ran around buying ink and some office supplies, went back to pick up my printed/laminated items, and was out the door. My only regret is I didn't get the 2 employees names (the man on the floor in the black shirt and the friendly woman at the print counter.) Like many other individuals suffering from OCD I require order, organization...and meds. When I realized that I was collecting code books, supplemental reading material, and building plans quicker than a fat kid eats cake....I knew that it was time to visit my nearest office depot. I came across (what I thought to be) a great sale...a fucking huge glass and iron desk for $179, and get a free dope-ass matching bookcase....well, it wasn't really advertised like that...but you get the picture. So I head on over to the Office Depot in Sylmar...conveniently close by....in & out in less than 1/2 hour...and all will be good....OR SO I THOUGHT! What I thought would be a quick and rather painless exchange turned into an unnecessarily dramatic event that took me across the valley! After showing the "qualified" customer service rep exactly what I needed, he disappeared and wasn't heard from again until I went to the manager at the nearest register to let her know that homie wasn't coming back soon & after waiting for 45 minutes, my patience was wearing thin. She continued to apologize for his incompetence and told me that she would send someone else to look for said item...(*flash forward another 1/2 hour*)...the manager then proceeds to let me know that although they currently have the bookcase...they don't have any desks. The exchange went something like this: Me: so you have the bookcase...but no desk. Over-qualified manager: that's correct. Me: but you're selling it as a set. O.Q.M: I know...we don't have the desk. Now, by this time I could've easily just walked away & found a way cheaper desk at Big Lots somewhere....OH HELL NO! now I was on a mission. I made the manager call every single office depot in the valley and make damn sure that a desk was available. After another hour on the clock was wasted...she FINALLY found one out in the west valley (that's "West -Siyeed" to my ghetto folk)...needless to say, but I'll say it anyway...I got my fucking huge glass and iron desk and free dope-ass matching bookcase....and will not be going back to Office Depot for jack-shit!....word to my moms.... read more

Unbelievable. I'm seriously in disbelief. Went in this evening to do some basic print services and was practically turned away. The person at the desk approached us very timidly and was looking around in desperation and asked us what we needed - almost as if she was utterly confused as to what printing 3 flyers on photo paper meant?!! She said Office Depot no longer offers individual printing? I'm assuming only large jobs? So strange as I JUST had a few holiday flyers printed a week ago at their location??? It's really the only office place in Sylmar. It's clean, the staff is helpful & they always are well stocked in what you might need.

If i could I would've given one stars. The copy and print department is so rude there. There's a new young girl and she is literally so useless and not helpful, she advised a man who obviously had no technology experience to use the self serve kiosk. Which is not an easy kiosk. This is by far, the ghettoest Office Depot I have ever been to. Employees are everywhere in the vicinity and yet no one is available or better yet no one is knowledgeable about what they sell in their own store. But what did you expect? I mean as soon as you walk into the store you see employees that are on break smoking a cigarette right next to the entrance.. I asked for a Manager, but the Manager is just as clueless as the staff. I came here to look at some projectors and maybe somehow get some clearance on which one I should buy. Just had a great experience at this Office Depot. I don't frequent these places and let's face it office supplies are boring! So i was surprised to walk in and hear good music playing loud enough to enjoy but not so loud you hear nothing else. I head to a section that seems like had some of the stuff I need. I go to small bussiness owners for anything... try to avoid to the avoid the big chain stores due to the overpricing and poor customer service. I am amazed how super nice and helpful every employee is. Super Helpful, Genuinely and nice.... Francis help me greatly, I never felt like I was bothering her in any way time after a time I was seeking her assistance. I briefly explained to her my idea on a project and how It must be inespensive. She was so helpful and I am extremelly grateful. As I am dropping of some items to get laminated and books spiral bound Alvaro and Mayra were over the top Awesome. I went looking at my worst (never did I felt like I was being looked down on in any way... I was being serviced and talked to like a human being.... it's not like that anywhere nowadays, ..... medical student, not much sleep taking Microbiology in a 5 week course... I want things to get done and please don't make me repeat myself .... lol Heheheeee.., Alvaro/printing services manager and Mayra C/print services supplied my demands in a caring, understanding matter. There was no feeling of rush or negative vibes in any way. Do not bring your cracked IPhone screen to be fixed here. Paid $108.00 to have my phone screen fixed and it lifted the very next day. They offer "NO" warranty on the work. I took the phone to Apple only to find out that the phone could not be fixed due to the damage from it being dropped. Office Depot should have told me the same thing and not charge me for a service that did not last a day! I ended up having to buy a new phone. I tried to go the cheap route only to have wasted $108.00. Don't be cheap it will cost you more in the long run pay the people who are experts on the phone read more

I finished getting ready and headed over. 45 minutes later I arrive and the lady said that they were not ready and I should have waited for for a confirmation saying they were ready. she said they were very busy and she said I'll print them this time but next time wait for a comfirmation email. it's not my fault the lines were long and there were only 2 people in that area. jeez. read more

I've been coming here since I first started college. I've probably printed 90% of my projects and resumes here. First off, they're sooo friendly most of the time. Except I did have one bad recent experience. On Mother's Day I went in to print a 10 page paper and the girl helping me was in the WORST mood! I understand she's pissed because she's working on such an important day however she's not only getting paid, it's not the customers fault this is her job and her schedule. Other than that they're awesome. They let you email them your work. And also let you print multiple copies and will reprint til it's perfect! They also would usually let me log in to my own personal email at times or school portal to access what I need to print during emergencies. However, recently this has changed. They now charge you $1 a minute to use the Internet, which is absurd! I understand that's company policy though. Every time I go with high hopes I'd get a price match with a smile, It happens.. They even go the extra length and check the price match on their computers.. The time and gas I save allows me to be able to get what I need as a plus.. Recently they have new employees and they are right there asking if I need any help.. I came to return something and there was no signs saying returns. So I got in line at the service desk. I got to the front of the line and they tell me that no returns or at the regular registers. That's bad enough. When I told the assistant manager I think they should have a return sign, he argued with me. I told him to go check every other retail chain store. Went into this location today to look for some folders. Everything was organized and the employees were always around to help BUT these guys have some bad manners. I was there with my girlfriend and I kept seeing these guys trying to check her out and as soon as I look at them they look away or down. I am not a rocket scientist but then again don't they go over stuff like that during orientation?? Of course these guys are working so I am not gonna make it a big deal to them since I would be wasting my time. Also one of the guys approached us and asked if we needed help in which I replied in a nice way that we did not and it seemed like he got mad and walked away. Also I approached one of the other guys and his walkie talkie seemed like they were laughing it up. I have worked retail and our walkie talkies were just used for work related communication, not for talking about our weekend. The only good thing I liked about the place was the girls at the checkout desks. They were really nice and courteous to every single guest and it seemed like they really enjoyed their job. If you are gonna visit this place and it bothers you that people stare then either don't take your gf or if you are a girl try not to wear tight clothing lol read more

Out of all the office supply stores in the valley, of which I shop at six others, this is the worst in terms of employees. They are unprofessional. You walk in and hear them discussing their personal lives and dates and loves and lovemaking styles as if they were in the living room of their own homes. Sometimes, I've had the need to ask for help, but hearing the way they speak and the way they act, I usually just say, forget it and I head over to the Staples on Balboa and Chatsworth.The giantic step ladders are usully tying up one or two aisles. It's a shame because this store is a couple of blocks from my work and hom, but the Staples mentioned is a very pleasant, very professional, courteous and clean place to shop at. Avoid this store at all costs. Customers are not important to them. If you don't want to have a bad experience, go somewhere else. read more
