I was trying to get an item printed up for my small business (which is part of why I never leave bad reviews, because I understand what it's like trying to run a business). I called my order in because it was technically a reorder of a print I just got done the previous day but needed more of. The person over the phone told me that they should have it done that day. I went in that day to check on it and they told me, oh there's no way we'll have it done because our printer is down. I understood and left. I checked the following day just to be told that they don't take orders over the phone and no one would have put my order in. I explained it would have been nice to know that when I came in to check on my order the previous day, as I am relying on this order for my business. My response was basically oh well, no one put your order in and we don't have it. I was in shock to be treated in such a flippant, disregarded way. I would be absolutely embarrassed for a customer to come into my shop and get treated in that manner. I then tried calling corporate to report the matter but could not get a representative to answer the phone! I was trying to call just to report the situation in a private way, but since there was no way for me to privately settle the matter, I felt compelled to leave a review.

I called Staples searching for a 22" computer monitor and the employee told me that they had one in…read morestock. So I drove there and asked for the monitor. The employee and I walked to the shelf, but what she thought was a monitor, wasn't. So she called her manager to ask if they had the monitor in stock and the manager climbed a ladder to the top shelf across the store and found the monitor. I was happy that they had one in stock. I was the only customer in the store. I don't know how these stores are keeping their doors open. Anyway, they were fast and friendly and they had what I needed. Recommend!

This Office Max is a great place to have included in this row of big box retailers. It's no…read morecomparison with Kohl's, but there is definitely a thing or two you could price shop against Target. They have a huge wall of pens, though literally only one fountain pen - a calligraphy set. They seem to have also reduced their notebook selection. In general, you can find your home office basics here and I think that's how they've weathered this storm. Probably the biggest money makers for them are printing and shipping. There's a decent selection of office furniture and desk organization stuff. Plenty of computer accessories: mice, keyboards, thumb drives, etc. Even printers and tons of paper options so you can do all of it at home on your own if you like. Prices can be high for some items and lower on others. As with most retailers lately, it seems the brick and mortar prices don't always match to the ones online. So price shop, whether to compare to Target next door or even to Office Max itself online.

Walked into the Office Max in Akron ( Montrose ) to have a bunch of items printed for my wedding. A…read moregirl behind the printing desk area was cleaning and looked at me and said "be with you in just a second ". I waited for over 5 minutes while she continued to clean in front of me !! I got so frustrated I left. Since when does cleaning take priority over a paying customer??! That is horrible service - I ended up a staples where they gave me excellent service and got everything I needed. Staples will get my business going forward.

I stopped by the UPS store today and received great service that was quick and very pleasantly…read moreprovided with reasonable prices. I needed to send a couple of things that I didn't want to fly home with because I didn't want to pack them underneath the plane or carry them on board. They provided custom box sizes that were made to order that fit what I needed like a glove and also provided excellent packing materials for a safe journey. They provided a great value in shipment insurance free of charge for the amount that I needed.
