I signed up for the puppy start up training back in March of 2025, The lady who signed me up was very nice and I appreciate her help and answered all of my questions but then the day of meeting the training came, her name was Alex, and all I gotta say is, she's a terrible trainer and very bad at communicating and assisting with anything related to my dog. Once the 4 weeks were done, I had a very difficult time to reach her and ask about helping me control my dog during the walks I would give him, the issue continued and stop never gave a real solution and she began to ignore my calls or texts. I have tried to reach out to someone about getting a new trainer but now my phone calls are being ignored, so after spending almost $4,000 dollars, I would highly advise to get a better company if you need assistance in training your dog or puppy or better yet, watching Youtube videos for free instead wasting my money on a company like this. What a terrible experience. -Awful customer service -Terrible people pretending to be trainers, -Ignoring the customers once they get the money. read more

My husband and I have had 2 of our dogs trained by OLK9. The first was our Dalmatian mix, Kai, in 2017 trained by Tom. The second was our 5 month old Siberian Husky mix puppy, Mochi, in July 2023 trained by Alex. Kai was about 2.5 years old when he did his 2-week board and train session. Kai is a sweetheart of a dog but has a high prey instinct which meant absolutely no recall whatsoever if he caught a scent or saw motion. This meant no off leash anything which was a huge bummer for us and him. No dog beach, no off-leash hikes, nothing! I will admit that when we decided to put Kai in the 2-week board and train I was nervous about the e-collar use. I was concerned that this type of training would change personalities and potentially induce fear. However, nothing like that at all happened. The e-collar is a training tool just like any other training tool. If you abuse any tool and use it as punishments all tools have the same potential negative effect. Neither Tom nor Alex used the e-collar tool as a punishment or in any scolding type of way. Kai came back with great recall regardless of his surroundings. This gave him a much better quality of life. He can go anywhere off leash now and enjoy being a dog. Mochi was 5 months when she did her 2-week board and train session. She has major puppy energy and is a total diva! She is also extremely stubborn. Her issues are mainly puppy issues, but she was wild on a leash and constantly was ambushing our other dog, Kai, and would not listen when we wanted her to stop. We enrolled Mochi as soon as she was old enough based on our OLK9 experience with Kai. Mochi was wild on a leash and hard to take in public because of how wild she was. She now is much better off leash and holds commands much better and longer. She still has crazy puppy energy and is a diva, but she doesn't ambush her brother so much now and she will listen when we tell her it's enough. Alex was amazing with her patients with Mochi. Mochi's age was a big factor since puppy are still learning about everything and testing every boundary possible. Both dogs know their collars mean they get to go do something fun so there is no negative association with the collars to them at all. This training gave both of our dogs much more freedom and opportunity to have new experiences (off leash hikes, beach, restaurants, etc). We are so happy we used OLK9 for Kai and Mochi. Both trainers were amazing, and we will definitely continue using OLK9 for any future dogs we end up with in the future. read more

As one trainer gives instructions on lessons and expectations , moving forward , the other trainer is already beginning to access and correct problem behavior. We are definitely comfortable forward moving forward with these trainers knowledge and expertise. BTW Trainers are available in different areas. Such as San Bernardino. We signed our two dogs up for the two week Board and Train program. The transformation has truly been astounding! I was initially reluctant to sending our boys (a 2.5 yo Shepherd mix and almost 7 yo Retriever mix) because of the cost and their use of the e-collar. Let me tell you, my only regret was putting it off for so long! Our boys barked excessively at home at anyone or anything walking by, and their recall was almost non-existent. Although they love off-leash, fenced-in dog parks, and always play well with other dogs in that setting, they had terrible leash/barrier reactivity. It got to the point that we couldn't even walk them in public because they became uncontrollable by barking and lunging. They'v been home for over a month now and they are happy and well behaved. Their quality of life has greatly improved, and so has ours. The boys even get excited when they see the e-collar because they know we're about to go out and have fun. It doesn't bother them a bit. Finally, I'm sure Off Leash K9 has lots of wonderful trainers, but our trainer Manny did an incredible job!! Our family appreciates everything he's done for our beloved dogs and family. read more

My wife and I bought the basic training package and were extremely pleased with the initial lesson, the e-collar equipment, as well as the length to which our trainer Eric worked with us in not only understanding how the equipment worked but also some amazing insights into our Shepherd's behavior. Sadly during some training at home our dog tore his ACL days after his first lesson. Not only were Eric and the team completely understanding of our situation but they never once mentioned simply postponing the lessons. Immediately they discussed our options for a refund so that the money could be put towards our vet bills for our pup. As an owner suddenly looking at extensive vet bills, I can't truly put into words the stress this removed from both my wife and I. I have been working with Ashley for the past five months with my five-year-old pitbull Kingston. She has been super great at helping us with the heal command-he's now walking right at my side and his reactivity issues specifically with motorcycles. We did the 2-week board and train for our Vizsla back in October using David H. out of Temecula. He did amazing work. We were impressed by how well she listened and was able to control her energy. The Vizsla breed is VERY energetic and some of our main issues were our pups' energy, jumping, and leash reactivity (if she saw a bird or another dog, she would be doing somersaults). We had already trialed other types of dog training ( group sessions, 1:1 positive reinforcement) and she was so stubborn/excited that we could never get her to hold her commands. Now, she listens and doesn't break commands until we ask. It has been a night and day difference for our family's sanity and pups' happiness. Our only bummers were during training, we didn't get very many pictures/updates. As well, now if the e-collar is not on our pup, she realizes it and tries to get away with some naughty behaviors but having the e-collar on, she knows it is time to behave. I can now take her on a walk off-leash with my two little ones and feel completely in control and free of anxiety. We have continued to keep up with the training from home and it is so nice to know if we need additional help, we can always contact Off-leash for future needs. ***Just completed the Advanced Training Course 8 lessons with my 7 month old Female Doberman.*** Before I start blabbing away at how great this is, I want to stress the point of owner participation. Off Leash K9 trainers do amazing work, but you will be a much happier owner and get amazing results if you COMMIT the time and ATTENTION needed to translate what the trainer teaches you to your pup/dog. Great bonding opportunity as well =D With that being said..... Prior to finding OLK9, I had my baby "Joey" in puppy kindergarten, and various "reward based" training. This type of training did not work so well. She would only listen if she wanted to, or only for treats. I had to look for another solution. Especially with her breed and intelligence, I wanted to make sure my girlfriend and I enjoy our puppies company, not dread it. Come OLK9 and their youtube videos and testimonials and reviews. I was very VERY impressed by their before and after videos. BUT!!!! Like a lot of other people, I was skeptical about the "E-Collar AKA SHOCK Collar". Until I watched this youtu.be/kO0ZJGZm4eA ... After just one class, I already saw a huge improvement. She was more attentive to me and actually LISTENED to my commands. I liked the weekly classes because you are taught a set of commands... Then you have that whole week to work with you puppy on what you just learned. After the 4th session, I was blown away by how smart my daughter was. I'm writing this review after leaving our final training lesson today. I can honestly say I have a totally transformed pup... Night and Day... I can't thank everyone at OLK9 enough "Specially Chiara".. I signed up my one year old Australian shepherd Reef for the two week board and train program. I signed Reef up because he would pull me everywhere on the leash. He would listen when he preferred to listen or after giving him the command 5x. He would easily get distracted and loose focus. Jacob Perez was Reef's trainer, and he worked miracles with Reef. Not only did he do an absolutely amazing job with Reef, but he also kept me updated and sent me pictures and videos of Reef's progress through out the two weeks! Reef is so much better well behaved now. I can walk with him off leash. He holds commands until being released. He has great door manners now. He listens to distance commands. He is same happy dog that loves life, but he is also a completely different dog in the sense that he is so well behaved now and will actually listen to me. I took him to Petco this morning (because it's his 1st birthday) and I got so many compliments about how well behaved Reef is. Thank you Jacob for doing such a great job with Reef and for also doing such a great job patiently explaining everything to me and sam and giving us the instruction we need to be able to keep reinforcing Reef's training. 10/10 would recommend Jacob and the Offleash 2 week board and train program. Gary came to Off Leash 2 weeks ago, he was a baby wanting to be carried like a baby around water or trying to get him into the car was a workout all by it self. Worth it! 2-week Board and Training Program. It was the best decision we ever had for our 2 year old GSD. Lucy was very reactive and we were getting worried that she would just get worse. We were fortunate to have had Jacob (Jake) as the trainer for Lucy. He was very caring and genuinely concerned about Lucy's welfare through behavior improvement. It took me a couple of weeks to decide to write this review. I was very excited about sending my puppy to the 14 day board and train he is a very smart pup loving and cuddly but has issues with jumping barking and pulling. He left for the training a beautiful healthy happy pup came back very thin dirty full of pee which only tells me he was left in crate for long periods of time and not fed correctly. He was groomed right before he left so his hair was very short he is crate trained and during the day is in his playpen or lose and not once has he EVER been so full of pee all on his bottom coat :( He was different starving you couldn't even stand near him while being fed or he'd growl and attack you which he never did before either. I've slowly been working with him and is not as protective of his food. Also since he knows he will be fed he is understanding he does not need to protect his food anymore. This is only a couple of issues I'm listing I did send a text to "trainer" and a short video of issues I was having that he supposedly worked with. By that time I was so upset seeing my beautiful happy puppy turn into cujo I did not respond after he suggested I travel 30 min away to get more help. I don't doubt the time he had him he did the tricks with him only because he was horrified of him and the collar but as soon as he came home it all was gone. I also reached out to person I spoke to when I was interested in program only to be insulted accusing me of not knowing what I was doing and I should set up another training session with same person. First off I do have experience with the ecollar I trained my lab in 4 sessions with the help and assistance of a great trainer (retired or I would have hired) so to make that comment was a bit disrespectful. I am sure many trainers on here are great maybe my pup and trainer did not connect idk and honestly I was just asking for what I paid for which is almost 3k after I'm done paying it off. I'm so happy and grateful of the training my dog BlueBell (11month old German Shorthaired pointer) and I have learned with Ashley. Ashley is amazing! She gave us the time and complete focus I don't think I would get from any other dog training service. I've had dogs before as kid but never did I think I would be able to get such a high energy dog like BlueBell to focus how she does now. It's all thanks to Ashley. Definitely impressed with their work. I had Jacob Perez as my dog's trainer and he was incredibly helpful and accommodating. I enrolled my husky/shepherd mix for the 2week board and train and the results were awesome. He is 5 months old and is smart yet very stubborn but Jacob got through to him! Jacob was knowledgeable, patient, and made sure I was in the loop with Arnie's training. My dog is quite verbal and will talk back when he's not getting his way (also VERY dramatic). I wasn't worried about the e-collar because Jacob made sure to explain it to me, and also made sure to practice using the remote with me so I don't over correct. It does take a while getting used to, but it's effective with Arnie and super easy to use. read more

I have to say, I am extremely impressed & happy we brought our dog here! This company is AMAZING! We brought our 11month German shepherd mix to K9 Off Leash for many reasons. Mainly because she lacked basic obiedence that my husband and I didn't have time to teach her, but she was also lacking manners with new people, manners on the leash and had totally mastered breaking out of her kennel. When I had reached out to the company, via email, I was emailing back and forth with Tom. He listened to our needs and gave me exactly what I was looking for-the next and first available training date for the board & kennel program. He booked the program with Ashley Brooks, who is just fabulous. She and I emailed back and forth quite a bit too before the 2 weeks and I told her every little detail about our dog and how we wanted her to be, or at least what we were hoping for. She listened and reassured me that she was going to do everything she can to help our girl become a better dog! When I dropped our dog Marshy off at Ashley's House, I felt comfortable leaving her there right off the bat. That afternoon and every day in those 2 weeks, Ashley and I would talk back in forth via text about Marshy's progress. She'd send me videos & pictures and tell me what they did that day for training. I was impressed by the progress she made over the course of 2 weeks but when I picked her up I was shocked by the progress!! She's learned so much and listens really well now. When I picked Marshy up, I met Ashley at a park and we trained for a good hour, hour and half. She made sure she had answered all my questions and that I was comfortable doing all the commands with Marshy. When I brought Marshy home and started working with her one on one I was seriously blown away. Marshy listens to every command now, pays attention to my husband and I even more than she did before. She listens even when she's distracted at the dog park! We take her out and get so many compliments about how well behaved she is. I just can't give this company & Ashley enough praise!
