We had our 4 month old Golden Retriever attend the 3 week puppy board and train and I can't speak highly enough about the process from start to finish. The trainer we were set up with was amazing with our puppy Belle. I really like that the trainers only take on one puppy at a time and may have some dogs boarding in the home with your pup which is also great for socialization and distractions when going through the training. McKenna was Belles trainer and I felt very comfortable leaving my puppy with her as sad as it was to leave her. I knew she would take good care of her and that she truly loves animals. I love that I would get daily updates called "pupdates" from McKenna every morning and looked forward to checking these daily. They included pictures, videos, verbiage on the specific training that was worked on and what Belle ate everyday. McKenna was very responsive when I sent emails and spent a great deal of time with me going over everything at the pick up day when Belle was turned back over to me. I was absolutely amazed at what McKenna was able to teach Belle in the 3 weeks she had her. I highly recommend Offleash SoCal and even better if you get McKenna as your training/handler. read more

My wife and I were looking to have our 22 month old Bernese Mt Dog trained. We wanted to find a trainer that would professionally and caringly train CJ to behave when greeting people and other dogs, stop jumping on people, dash out the door and to consistently obey the basics commands (sit,down,come, stay, heel and off) - all of the time and under any condition with distractions. Well guess what, after an extensive search we found Off Leash K9 Training SoCal and trainer Jessie that took CJ from being a rambunctious uncontrollable dog into a well mannered and happy dog that we can take anywhere - Lowe's, the park, Out door dining restaurants, the beach, mountains or simply around the block. We signed up for the two-week training program and could not be happier. CJ came home healthy, happy and well trained. Our trainer did an outstanding job with CJ, sent us daily "pupdates" that included videos, photos and answers to our emails during this 2-week period. And as expected and needed Jessie also took the necessary time and effort to "train" both my wife and me how to work with and enjoy CJ. Sheena took my 6 Mo old lab and helped me to teach her how to heel, sit, stay, and ignore other ppl /animals. All the things you'd want in a good dog to do! I no longer have to worry about her running off or ignoring a command. The techniques used in off leash training are very effective and humane, don't let the training collar deter you. I was apprehensive at first but the dog isn't harmed at all and the collar works as a signalling device for teaching commands and establishing a solid foundation for you and you pet. My 2 year-old Belgian Malinois just completed the 2-week off-leash boarding program with Chris. When I found out I had to move to Downtown Los Angeles I knew that I had to put my dog into some sort of program that will help him adjust to living in such a different place than he was used to. Smokey has always been a great dog with other people but always had aggression issues with other dogs because we had an encounter with a loose pitbull while jogging and a couple other ones with my dad's German Shepherd when he was a puppy. After those few encounters he never trusted another dog, big or small. Coming into this training my biggest concern was his aggression and fear. Chris was very helpful in explaining what Smokey was going to go through in those two weeks and I felt very comfortable leaving Smokey with him. There were updates every day on the stuff that they worked on and I loved the fact that he introduced Smokey to his own dog to socialize him a little more. Smokey's aggression towards other dogs is definitely manageable now. Introducing the e-collar has been a game-changer. We can now walk pass any dog and I feel very comfortable controlling the situation. Chris was very excited to train Smokey and I really loved his energy and confidence. His explanations were clear and he really spent time with me during pick up to explain everything Smokey learned. The commands Smokey learned are awesome and totally worth every single penny. The most important command for me was heel. NO MORE LEASH PULLING! Anyways, this program was amazing and a life saver. We did two separate board and train programs, one for each of our dogs, with Oliver. Oliver took our out-of-control teenage pup and taught him commands and how to be behaved on leash. When we picked him up, it was amazing to see his progress in just two weeks! We've been continuing to train him since we got home and he's such a pleasure to be around, and go out with, now! Oliver also took our anxious 4.5 year old pup and built up her confidence to be able to respond to commands even when she's starting to get anxious. It was amazing to see Oliver's ability to work with two very different dogs and get good results with each of them. My 9 mo. Old terrier mix (Elise) would not listen, would bark at every person within 20 feet of my home, and was just her own boss. I just got my 7 mo. old golden doodle Sadie back from the Off-Leash SoCal 2-week board and train with Wyatt Harris. Wyatt was so enthusiastic and pleasant to deal with and Sadie loved him! Before training with Wyatt, Sadie was a very smart but stubborn, typical golden doodle puppy monster who had selective hearing, was becoming a bully -- barking and grabbing my hands whenever I wasn't paying attention to her, chewing and destroying everything, digging holes in my yard, and our daily walks had become a nightmare with her constant pulling and jumping on anyone and anything that she saw which was exhausting and as she got bigger was becoming harder to deal with. My partner and I were hesitant to send our Pup Toast ( 3 year old Pembroke Welsh Corgi) to the 1 week board and train program. He is a sweet dog but had a tendency to launch and bark at passerby's. No ankle was safe from him. We had the same questions most people had. Will this work? Will he become a better mannered pup? Or will it be a huge waste of time and resources? No dog is the same and training is not a quick and easy fix. I am delighted to say that the 1 week board and train program was PERFECT for our dog. Our trainer was Tanner, he was very sweet and had a very calm and relaxing demeanor. He was able to get Toast's behavior on track and our pup is doing so much better. We even joked that Tanner went out to the store and brought back a similar looking dog that is much more well mannered haha. Toast is a stubborn pup but the training Tanner did with with him has been a huge improvement. Tanner went above and beyond for us. We even had one of Toasts meds delivered to us late and Tanner went out of his way to meet with me to pick it up so he could give it to Toast for us. At the end of the training Tanner met up with us at a local park and walked us through all the commands Toast was taught. He was very thorough and made sure my partner and I were both confident with Toasts new skills and continuing his training back at home. While Toast was away Tanner also created a blog for him so we could see how Toasts training was going. The updates were great and it really put our minds at ease because it is stressful having someone else handle your furry family member. Tanner thank you so much for taking such good care of Toast. He has been very well mannered at home and is much calmer when strangers are nearby. The price for board and train may seem daunting but I think it was absolutely worth it. First time dog owners with a shelter dog that had some behavior problems (leash pulling, reactivity towards other dogs). Purchased the four lesson basic obedience package. Our trainer Wyatt was excellent. He walked us through the basic commands (sit, place, heel, down) and how to use the e-collar effectively. We noticed a marked improvement in our dog's behavior with each lesson. Especially after learning heel, walking with him is now a joy rather than a chore. Wyatt was flexible with scheduling lesson times with us and went above and beyond by answering questions by email. He skillfully tailored each lesson to our dog's needs (e.g. more time practicing heel, less time practicing down). Definitely worth the investment. read more

After reading all the positive reviews, I decided to send my dog for a 2 week training course. Biggest mistake I ever made. She was sent home after 5 days because she was eating 1/3 less than usual. She was sent home with an e-collar and a recommendation to send her to someone else for a 2 week stay. Don't understand why as they couldn't keep her for 5 days. I asked Michael if I could work with the trainer at my home and he refused to give me permission. When she came home, she was inundated with foxtails which has since cost me hundreds of dollars and trauma for my dog. When I tried to contact Michael, he didn't even respond to my emails. Extremely disappointed with this whole experience. Please do not send your dog here; they honestly don't care after they have your money. read more

Sofi, my 13 month old white shepherd/ lab mix was trained by Chris Louie a few weeks back in the 2-week board and train. I am very pleased with her training and the tools that I have been given to provide structure and focus to Sofi's life. She is about 70 lbs. and overall a sweet pup but was not a listener. Every time we would walk by other dogs I would have to restrain her and hold her back (which was tiring because she's so big). Now, after training Sofi is able to pass by dogs and I am able to stay calm. We are still working with the e-collar but overall I am so pleased with how effective it is. Chris was great with her. From the moment I dropped Sofi off, I trusted him and knew she was in good hands. He loves dogs and that is very clear. Sofi was treated like one of his own dogs while she was with him. She gets a little anxious and was not eating her kibble during the training so Chris went above and beyond and fed her chicken and rice to make sure she was getting nourished after long hours of training. I've heard horror stories of dogs going to bootcamp and not coming back with the same personality. This was very much not the case with OffLeash. Sofi came back with the same sweet and spunky personality just way more focussed. If/when I get another dog I will definitely be sending them to OffLeash Socal and would recommend that anyone inquiring do the same. So grateful for this program! read more

We did the two week board and train with Chris and have been so thrilled with the results. Chris took great care of our boy Levi and worked with him to help make him the best dog he can be. I just got my 10-month-old puppy back from Offleash SoCal and the whole experience was GREAT! I got my dog in COVID so the separation anxiety was real (on my end) when I dropped her off. I was so sad giving her to Trainer Joey because I've never done something like this before. Joey provided awesome daily updates, cute videos and was emailing updates the whole time. It really helped me feel included and comfortable even thought I wasn't there. When I picked Luna up, she was a completely different dog... In the best way possible. She wasn't distracted by other people/dogs/animals when Joey and I were talking at the park and most importantly, her leash manners and walking were AMAZING. She's 70lbs and my issue was always that I could get seriously injured if she didn't learn how to walk properly on the leash. I feel confident that I have nothing to fear after spending a week with Joey. I think the best part about the whole experience was seeing how much Joey loved Luna when I went to pick her up. Luna loved and respected her and vice versa. It made feel so much better to see that and know that she was in great, loving hands. Joey made the handover so comfortale and informative and we just went on our first mile-long walk this morning and Luna is an angel. My 13 month doodle just completed the 7-day board and training with Alyssa. Oliver is extremely energetic and NEVER runs out of energy, even after running for multiple hours a day. He used to be a nightmare to walk because he would pull everywhere, stop all the time to sniff, eat stuff off the ground, etc. He is so social that he wants to say hi to all humans and dogs and I have struggled being able to walk him, especially if there are any kind of distractions around. In addition to poor walking and poor manners (jumping on people), it has been extremely stressful working from home because he barks at any little noise outside of the window (apartment living), and he wouldn't settle for more than an hour before he's up and being destructive. I had so many questions for the trainer regarding specific instances, and what I have learned is that with a few simple commands (heel, off, sit, lay) I can correct any behavior! "Off" is my new favorite word in the world! It's stopping him from chasing my cat, jumping on people, being distracted by dogs, noises, stop his barking, eating things, etc. It's a blanket word that fixes almost everything! I honestly had anxiety all week that he wouldn't be able to master his new training, and wishing I would have paid for the 2-week training instead of 1, but he has returned with amazing skills and impulse control. Now it's up to me to keep it up! I wish I would have spent the money and sent him for training a long, long time ago. We placed our 7 month-old Staffordshire Terrier in the 2 week board and train program with Oliver Dunn. We are extremely happy with the results we have seen. She is excellent at heeling and will stop and sit when we stop and lay down on command. She reacts better to commands even when distracted and will go to 'place' when told. Oliver gave us daily pupdates and would communicate with us whenever we had questions. Oliver also explained everything thoroughly when we picked her up and took the time to have us practice some of the commands before we brought her home.
