Today, I went for a quick lunch alone. First time doing sushi a lone. I felt very brave and adventurous. They greeted and seated me immediately. I always feel so awkward when I say Just One to the Hostess, but I'm trying to overcome that. The waiter immediately took my drink order of unsweetened tea with lemon and he brought to the table some complimentary miso soup (absolutely love) I chose the 2 roll special for only $9.50 The Baja California Roll and the Boston Roll They were both very good. Normally, I allow Noel to order for me and try not to get too crazy but I'm starting to venture out some

I would call this a rice and cucumber roll with a hint of tuna.

I am new to the area and decided to try this sushi place. I ordered several rolls for pick up. I would say it leaves much to be desired. I am just commenting on the food as this was a pick up order. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The ambiance seemed cozy.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I got my to go order right away. The fish was fine. I wouldn't say the freshest but certainly not the worst. This amount of rice in each roll should be illegal. The rice was also very hard and bottom fell away from the rest of the roll on almost every piece. Texture of the rice reminded me of refrigerated sushi from a grocery store. The Kani salad looks sad. In my previous experiences, kani salas came with sliced cucumbers, tempura flakes. This wasn't it. Every place has their own take on kani salad, I guess. I won't be partaking again but If you are a fan of rice, this place will fill you up!

Reading the most recent reviews on here, I have say, there was no issue with the rice with my meal! I ordered the Vegetarian box. Rice was formed nicely in a small ball, not stiff at all. Great service and [[HIGHLIGHT]]a very nice atmosphere!![[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]

Ogawa is good, but not great! I'm surprised it's listed in the top ten restaurants on Culture list for Morgantown. We came here on a Sunday afternoon and were promptly attended to. We ordered the spider roll and the salmon roll along with shrimp and vegetables bento box. I really liked the veggie tempura and the rolls were okay. To finish up, we got the matcha ice cream. I felt the consistency is somewhat different and I couldn't relish the flavor. Overall, a forgettable experience.

Very nice Japanese restaurant and sushi bar to have lunch or dinner. Having been here for both I'll start with lunch. The outside is unassuming but the interior has a cool Asian vibe with its furnishings and decor. As such, the wooden chairs are smaller but comfortable. Usually have a bowl of ramen or a lunch box. A bowl of miso soup is served before your meal arrives. Servings are generous and food is flavorful. The ramen sure hits the spot on those cold periods. The lunch boxes offer food options and include a meat, small salad, sushi, and sides. From chicken katsu to teriyaki, the food tastes great and is filing. We've had large sushi platters for dinner and the options really depend on how hungry you are. All platters are tasty and pleasing to the eye. Fountain drinks, beers, wines, and liquors are available to quench your thirst or accompany the sushi. The staff is friendly and helpful. I have eaten here a few times and would recommend it for those wanting to try sushi for the first time or enjoy some very good Japanese food.

Honestly wasn't expecting much from this place (I mean come on - sushi in Morgantown, WV?) but I was pleasantly surprised. We enjoyed the unlimited free miso soup, and also ordered a few rolls and some ramen, all of which were tasty. Certainly not the best I've ever had, but it was solid, all things considering. Service was great as well.

I ordered Ramen and it was too salty. The noodles were over cooked. I also ordered vegetable dish and it was way too sweet.

Definitely the best sushi place in town. It's a hidden gem, one of my first choices for lunch.

There's a paid parking lot across the street as well as metered parking on High Street. Their awning has seen better days but after walking up a small flight of stairs, you enter a cozy restaurant and greeted by its staff. There's about 8 tables for seating and the walls are neatly decorated with Japanese art. The front wall displays photos of their food offerings and made ordering easy. The friendly cashier answered some questions and we placed our order of shoyu ramen, curry rice with chicken katsu, shumai, gyoza, and takoyaki as well as soft drinks. There were several other customers having their meals and more gradually filled the tables as others left. The food was served soon after and looked delicious. They formed a kitty cat with the rice, complete with nori for cat eyes on the curry katsu plate. Nice touch. The curry was very flavorful and just the right consistency and a little spicy which went great with the katsu. Only wish there was more katsu. My buddy's ramen looked fantastic and was told the noodles were delicious in the broth. Found out the noodles aren't made in house but bought from a vendor. The gyoza and shumai were very tasty alone and with its sauce. The takoyaki took some time to cook but was nicely sauced and served. There were sizable chunks of tako inside and was very tasty. The prices are reasonable for a specialty restaurant and the service was great. There's another Japanese restaurant in Morgantown which was very good but Yama's was a little better and I'd return if ever I'm in Morgantown.

When I asked the front desk staff what might be a good place for dinner, she recommended not this spot but the popular restaurant bar next door. Iconoclast that I am, I decided to venture into the cold pitch black and walked about ten minutes. A polite South Asian man greeted me. Seated in the adjacent dining room, I was the only diner until a couple showed up about a half hour later. The menu was robust, and I was hungry after a long drive from Downtown Pittsburgh. First I ordered the $6.50 Agedashi Tofu, which was not the traditional appetizer. It consisted of large wedges of deep-fried tofu covered with bonito shavings and accompanied by tempura sauce (Photo 9). It was pretty good with an emphasis on quantity. Portion was to be a recurring theme as my entree was the abundant $26.95 Sashimi Deluxe consisting of a dozen pieces of fish plus a tuna roll cut into six pieces (Photo 10). It was a decent variety of mostly thick slices of maguro, hamachi, and ebi. No salmon though and there were imitation crab sticks. The tuna roll was rather generic. Again I was impressed more by the quantity than the quality. Certainly plenty of wasabi and ginger. I didn't leave room for the complimentary miso soup (Photo 8) much less any notion of dessert. Their menu expands to poke bowls, yakisoba, and four different ramen bowls. They even offer General Tso's chicken and shrimp. That level of versatility is impressive, but it's been my experience that not everything can be well executed consistently. Regardless, if I was a local resident of Connellsville, I'm sure I'd be here a lot.
