I've been to Volcano years ago when I was a student and I remember it being a fun place for group dinners. It still is and the service and staff are wonderful. This time though I wasn't completely satisfied with the meal. I usually get sushi, but this time I tried the steak teriyaki. The steak was cooked perfectly, however the sauce was not good to me. It was so thick and sweet that I felt like I was eating barbecue sauce. My sister's chicken katsu looked great, but she also commented that the sauce didn't seem to go with it. She used mine instead lol. The side salad was so wet and the dressing tasted off. The miso soup was hot how I like it and the gyoza were delicious. read more

We had such high hopes coming back here. We have always had great experiences here. It's been years since we last ate here and there are more seats inside. We were seated right away which was fantastic. Our server brought us water but didn't take our order for 15 minutes. We ordered the Special Roll combo which comes with two rolls, soup, and salad. We had the spicy beach, rainbow, and sunset rolls. Honestly, the rolls are fantastic. The problem is the wait to get the food. We waited an hour and fifteen minutes to get our sushi. We considered leaving a few times but each table around us was being served so we thought we'll be next. It appears they are serving to go and online ordered as well and they definitely were served before us. It wasn't just us. All the tables waited a long time to be served sushi. The hibachi was pretty quickly. I would say if you're going to come, don't come during dinner or order it to go because it's really not worth the long wait. read more

I ordered shumai and Udon with Tempura Shrimp, my husband ordered a salad and a Peace Roll. His salad and my shumai came out first - very good- succulent. Then my huge bowl of Udon came out with a side of 2 huge tempura shrimp. The shrimp were awesome, the udon not so much. The chicken pieces in it seemed a bit old and tough. The udon noodles were okay but the broth had a weird off-taste. And no salt at all, kinda bland, so I added some soy sauce. That helped with the seasoning, but that weird taste was still there. I've had udon at other places and never encountered that before. Meanwhile, my husband's sushi had not come out yet. A couple sat down next to us, ordered, and in a few minutes they got their sushi! Still none at our table. So my husband told someone. Come to find out, they never took down his order. I was right there and heard his order. He told me that after the waitress took our order she said to him "Is that all? ". And he said she had a strange look on her face. So he figured she must have never heard him ordering the sushi. He plainly said Peace Roll. At the time I was curious what the heck would be in a Peace Roll. So, finally his sushi came out and he said it was good. I don't know if I'd go back, because that's kind of embarrassing when you have to ask for your meal while showing them that the table next to you that just sat down had gotten their food already. I'd definitely never get the udon, but everything else was good. Just a bad experience. read more

While the servers were very cordial and nice, and the atmosphere is pleasant, the food was just not good. Their yellowtail jalapeno appetizer is deep fried with cream cheese... And no, it doesn't mention that on the menu. If you are a fan of this appetizer, then you know typically it's fresh (raw) yellowtail slices, in a ponzu or similar sauce, with slices of jalapeno on top. It's fresh, light, and a good way to judge the upcoming dishes. I wish I had ordered that without ordering anything else, as I would never have expected it to be deep fried with cream cheese! Their crab is fake crab, which is typical, but to have it *in* and *on* a roll is the epitome of mediocrity. The escolar was stringy and chewy, which is just downright strange. Can't recommend. Positives: The eel was decent, the house wine was cheap, and as I said, the waitresses were nice. read more

Located In a strip mall that doesn't scream quality food. I'm not a huge fan of dark restaurants in Shady strip malls as it feels less then "clean". That's just an observation and shouldn't really make u decide to visit..just explaining the environment. On to the important part, my son got the spice CA rolls. He said they were ok, not sure how good they can really be. Kinda boring choice. I got the Salman lovers and sunset roll. Sunset roll was very generous and very good. During COVID it's carry out only. The young lady brought out our food quickly. It took exactly the 25 minutes they estimated. We got all but one roll cooked because my sister is 8.5 months pregnant, but it was delicious. We had the California roll, the Shrimp Tempura Roll, the Crazy Volcano Roll, the Crazy Stone Roll, and the Beautiful Roll. We got the lunch special for $8.55 each that came with 2 rolls, miso soup, salad, 2 dumplings, and a side of steamed rice. The Beautiful Roll was extra and reasonably priced at only $5.95. With tax and tip, we paid $27.13. It was a lot of food and we didn't finish everything in one setting. It was well worth the stop! We plan to return again once my sister has her baby so we can try other sushi rolls as well sashimi. I'll get pictures next time, we were hungry! read more

Love this place, especially their lunch deals. The pickled cucumber you get when you eat in is a favorite of mine. I get the lunch bento box usually with a salmon roll and veggie or shrimp tempura. It is always really good. You can also get the lunch to go, which is a lot of food and nice option when you are in a hurry. I always order the cucumbers to go even though you have to pay a little as a take out customer (less than a buck). I have never had bad service but I also usually always get it to go. read more

Finally found a good sushi place in Morgantown! My girlfriend and I arrived in town late on a Friday night and this was one of very few decent-looking places open past 10:00. We ordered a Spicy Salmon Roll, Spicy White Tuna Roll, Spicy Scallop Roll, and a Ninja Roll Appetizer. The salmon roll was about average, but the white tuna and scallop rolls were amazing. The Ninja roll appetizer was cool in that it had no rice (which we didn't miss at all), and the 6 pieces was a pleasant surprise for the low price. UPDATE: Tried the Beautiful Roll Appetizer and the Ichiban Roll Appetizer. I wanted the Beautiful roll because of the seaweed salad but it really just gave the roll a really undesirable chewy texture. On the other hand, the Ichiban roll was terrific. It was loaded with fish for a very reasonable price. read more
