The sage egg and cheese is SO good. This place is super cute - can be a tight squeeze, but worth it. I just wish the sandwich had some sort of sauce on it because it can be dry. HOWEVER. Their avocado toast is seriously out of this world. I normally don't order avocado toast on principle because it's usually like two pieces of avocado on bread for one million dollars, but theirs is sooo worth it. Add a soft boiled egg. Coming from family raised on the Chesapeake Bay, and eating those crabs for breakfast, I'm gonna focus on their crab roll and not write about any of the other shitty seafood that they're serving here since the crab pissed me off the most. Walked in and the place has that modern New Englandy thing going on with the addition of about fifty flies circling overhead. Amongst other things, we ordered the crab roll and I asked the girl at the counter what kind of crab they use for the "jumbo lump" Crab roll. She said Lump. Lump Crab. What the fuck is a Lump Crab? I asked again just to be clear but again, Lump. I was looking for an answer like Blue Crab or Jonah or even Dungeness but no. People working at a seafood restaurant should know what they're serving and this responsibility ultimately falls on the owner/cooks. Educate your employees! When the roll came out it was clearly backfin, not Jumbo Lump or Lump. Backfin that costs them maybe 2 to 3 bucks a pound. Backfin with no flavor at all. That $15 crab roll was an absolute joke. To be honest, the state of seafood in NYC is pretty poor and this place fits right in. Shrimp roll was fucking pathetic as well. Four tiny shrimp with a ton of raw red onion covering it!? As a supposed seafood restaurant, you know not to drench seafood in raw red onions. It is way too strong of a flavor for seafood. Also, girl at the counter, lose the attitude. read more

Excitedly arrived at Littleneck Outpost expecting more or less what we love at the Gowanus location. We were disappointed to find that the only seafood options were an $18 Lobster Roll and a $14 shrimp roll...no raw bar, nothing like steamed clams, no other seafood other than those sandwiches. We ordered the Shrimp Roll, which was tasty but tiny. Unless I'm in the Gowanus or unless there are other options added to the menu...I think once was enough. read more

I've never had anything from here that was not good. My fave thing and go-to item has to be the kale salad -- I add roasted chicken and an egg. Personally I also like to swap out the anchovy dressing for olive oil. That roasted chicken is amaaaaaazing. And I love how the egg is always PERFECTLY soft-boiled. Literally no-one else does it like this and it makes me so happy. This is overall a super healthy and delicious and filling lunch. Other things I love when I'm giving in to carbs and cheese: the avocado melt SO GOOD. I also had this amazing soft scrambled eggs situation with avocado the other day. Mmmmmm. The food here is great. But I would never stay and eat it's very cramped and not well ventilated. Also some of the cashiers are a bit rude.

Ham and cheese sandwich was inedible: salty as ocean water. The ham tasted like it had been packed in salt and they didn't know you're supposed to wash the excess salt off. Then it's topped with some sort of tapenade for extra salt. It was eye-watering. read more

The Lobster Roll was excellent. This was by far the best thing on their menu. We also got the ham sandwich, which tasted good but the ham itself is very salty. It's best to get a bottle of water with this. Ham Sandwich was $12 and the Lobster Roll was $22. read more

Not sure about those negative reviews below! The sandwiches here are absolutely delicious. The mortadella with sharp provolone comes on fresh, pillowy focaccia and was probably enough food for three meals (I ate it in two, hehe). Just tried the ham, egg and cheese for breakfast today--it was also huge and so much better than any breakfast sandwich I've ever had! The bread they use is really incredible and the slightly runny fried eggs were a nice change compared to the folded-omlette style eggs I'm used to. Can't wait to try the rest of the menu! read more

Food is very small and overpriced you what you get, if the portions were a bit bigger it could be a go to lunch spot. Went back again to try the coffee, which is good. However, I asked for an extra shot in my coffee, which on the menu said it was $1.50, but when i checked the receipt, they charged me $2.75 just for a shot of espresso. The extra star is for the coffee, which is La Colombe, however, they have recently downsized the small iced coffee. At $3.50 for a tiny cup, it is a joke. This place is all about charging you the most money for very little. The sandwiches are all bread and cost a small fortune. I got the chicken confit and I think it was something like $13. It was tiny! Very plain. I'd say it's an $8 sandwich at best. I also think the tables are uncomfortable and small and wobbly. It's almost like a joke restaurant or a set for a hipster T.V. show. Been coming here twice a week since they opened. Definately the BEST lobster roll in town but my go to sandwiches are the Chickpea w/ cashew cream and their Crab roll. Man, I really think this place could be worth it, but its just seriously so overpriced. Don't get me wrong, I'm fine with paying a fair amount for a small portion at a nice restaurant, but its just crazy how small every $9-$14 dollar sandwich is at what is supposed to be a casual breakfast/lunch spot. I'm also fairly certain that they've started putting the Chickpea and the Egg sandwiches on smaller pieces of bread over the last few weeks, which is just baffling. Its not like a smaller piece of bread is any cheaper for them! Maybe I'm wrong, but I also feel like the already expensive Ham Egg and Cheese had its priced raised by a full dollar last time I was in. It was the only sandwich I felt was really worth its money before hand, but not so much anymore. Great food....but an even better sidewalk sign. Where do I start? I would be fibbing if I said when I went for a walk at noon on a Wednesday, I knew I would be eating at Littleneck. It was a lunchtime stroll down Franklin Street, like any other, only this time, something was different. Out of the corner of my eye I caught one of the most prepossessing colors I have ever laid my eyes on. It was an army green with beautiful eye piercing stencil stickers that read "LITTLENECK OUTPOST." This sign was so magnificent, it had to be store bought or made by one of the finest millworkers Brooklyn has ever seen. With 23x32 plywood on each side, outlined by stunning 1x1 pieces of pine, topped off by a nautical rope handle so fine that Herman Melville would only dream about, it had to be made by a professional. Upon inquiry to the barista, it was constructed by the owner of Littleneck Outpost. The fact that the owner of a highly successful Brooklyn eatery would go out of their way to construct such a sidewalk sign tell you everything you need to know about Littleneck. 5 stars!!!!! read more

The breakfast sandwiches are okay but really overpriced for what they are. Seating is limited and hard to get a spot to sit unless you do during off hours. Woah...just shockingly bad. I was so excited to have this place in the neighborhood, but they really need to get their act together. Where to begin...they didn't have most of the items on the menu. After ordering 2 sandwiches I then proceeded to wait 40 minutes for them to make them...15 minutes to wait for the cook to return to the kitchen, and then another 15 minutes of watching him playing around on his phone before he actually got to work. All this without a word of apology for the delay. The pastrami sandwich I threw out after 1 bite - it was more fat than meat, totally disgusting. The mortadella sandwich was at least edible, but nothing special. For $25 for 2 sandwiches, they need to do much, much better than this. read more
