Great experience including the ambiance. We were seated right away, even without a reservation. The main dining area was full so my companion and I were seated in the cozier lower level. The service was friendly, attentive, and consistent. We ordered a mango lassi, garlic naan, paneer makhani, and malai kofta. The two entrees were served in big plates with shallow centers. The heat level was just right. The mango lassi was fresh, cold, refreshing, and delicious. The naan was thin, fresh, flaky, buttery, and garlicky. All items met our price, quality, and appearance expectations. We would definitely be back and recommend to others.

Oh Naan is an Indian cusine restaurant with trendy atmosphere. You can park on the street with hourly parking and they also have few spots outdoor to sit if the weather is nice. We made a reservation for 4 via Google maps app, and they called up in few minutes after to confirm the reservation as they close the restaurant for lunch service at 2:30. We ordered appetizers and food and service was fast, food was fresh and tasted good, while I was there i even overheard few customers complimenting the preparations so overall a good experience.

After my daughter's concert nearby, our party of seven dined here for dinner on a Sunday night at 6pm. We made a reservation, but didn't need to since it was pretty empty. To eat, we really enjoyed the palak chaak, sesame naan, mango lassi, and chai. The daal and the chicken masala were average. The mango chutney made the masala stand out more. Service was excellent!

Basmati rice which came with the entrees. Solid.

I've worked in the Thomas Circle area for almost 25 years and I've seen the 14th st corridor really blossom. Just this past weekend, my wife and I took the opportunity to again stroll down 14th and we noticed so many new restaurants, with a fantastic buzz and vibe. We vowed to make sure we tried some of the new establishments in short order So, I caved in and didn't wait to sample the fare., I decided to order delivery from Oh! naan Indian kitchen from work today. And, well, it's going to be very dangerous to have such a tantalizing restaurant so easily accessible. I was having a busy day so I really didn't get to peruse the menu to my satisfaction but I grabbed two items what sounded great: Fish Tandori and Daal Fry. I do like spicy, but chose "medium spice" since this was my first time for Oh! Naan and wanted to get a baseline. The flavors were quite solid. I've had richer, more flavorful Indian dishes - but in fairness, those have all been at very high end establishments (Rasika, for example). The spice level was a bit too mild for me - the fish didn't seem to have any heat, and the daal was closer to "mild" than medium. This did NOT distract from my enjoyment of the dishes at all. I just know to order more spice next time And there will be a next time. If you're looking for a solid Indian meal while in the neighborhood, have no qualms about order form Oh! Naan.

My friends and I kept seeing this place pop up so we decided to stop in to check it out. My first comment would be to make a reservation as there didn't seem to be a ton of seating at first glance but thankfully we were able to get a table when we went. The place itself is pretty nice inside and the service was really kind! For food, my friend and I split the chicken masala which was basically a butter chicken. It was pretty decent - not our favorite because the chicken didn't have much flavor but the curry itself had great flavor! It just comes with rice and you have to order naan on the side if you'd like it and it comes with 1 piece/order so pretty small portions.

I got a chance to hang out with a group I hadn't seen in quite a while... we decided DC would be the central point, and they left me to decide where we would go after the initial plan ended up not being viable for us logistically. We knew we wanted Indian cuisine, so I happened to stumble upon this place in my search. And it so happens that they're new, even better! I called a few days ahead to make a reservation, and the staff happily made it over the phone since I couldn't do it online. Oh! Naan Indian Kitchen has joined the 14th Street corridor between R & S, joining so many other poppin' biz's. It was nice to see what has changed, since it's been a while since I last walked down 14th. Some of the others in my party were already seated, so I quickly joined them. I was attended to right after getting settled, and it didn't take me long to figure out what I wanted -- I got sesame naan and chicken chettinad, an Indian dish I haven't had yet! I liked how the spices and flavors came together in it, though it was no way as beautiful and colorful as my friend's vindaloo! When I went to the bathroom, I really got to take the whole restaurant in. There's a fully stocked bar with a few seats, and there's an upper and lower level with extra seating. The giant wine rack on the wall when heading to the lower level is a really nice piece to look at. There's lovely art along the walls, and for anyone who sits at the window right at the entrance, there's a lovely tapestry piece hanging up. So the food was delicious, the staff were all really kind to us, and the vibe there is just really nice. Parking on the side streets or on 14th shouldn't be too much of a hassle unless there is a concert or show going on nearby. They're a welcome addition to the neighborhood, so make sure you try if you're around!

Stumbled upon this restaurant after grocery shopping. Stopped in for a refreshing mango lassi. Then decided to try a few items. Dahl puri and keema lamb naan helped me soak up all the cucumber raita. Tried saffron rasmalai - which was a slightly sweet refreshing way to end the night. Service was good and while waiting for food watched some Bollywood production.

This place was wonderful! We came in and were immediately seated. It was relatively quiet inside, which was good cause I could hear my friend talk. I ordered the mango lassi, which was wonderful. My friend ordered aloo gobi and I ordered saag paneer and we both ordered roti. Everything was great, especially the saag paneer. I would definitely come back again!

We were a large group and ordered a wide variety of dishes including the lamb roll, lamb chops, palak chaat, paneer tikka, crab, shrimp curry, and the Everything Mango dessert. The food was delicious across the board, with plenty of bold flavors and beautifully prepared dishes. The downside is that it comes at a fairly high price, so I expected the overall experience to match the quality of the food. Unfortunately, the service was the biggest disappointment. We had made our reservation several days in advance for a large group, yet our server seemed to be rushing us from the moment we sat down. Even while choosing our wine, we were repeatedly pushed to make a decision rather than being given time to look through the options. It felt unnecessarily rushed and pushy, which really put a damper on what should have been a special group dinner. The atmosphere is lovely, with a sophisticated and ambient setting that works well for special occasions. Given the prices, though, I expected much more polished service. Great food, but the rushed service left a bad taste and unfortunately overshadowed an otherwise delicious meal.

The first time I visited, I was left wanting more in the flavor department. I asked for spicy, and although what I received would be considered spicy to some, it wasn't nearly as spicy as I expected for Indian cuisine. The depth of flavor can be inconsistent, although for American standards it is perfect. What I've experienced with some Indian restaurants is the flavor level depends on how close the batch is to almost empty. I've experienced some restaurants stretch their gravies by adding stock/water. Jab We Met seems to take pride in serving consistent gravy texture and consistency. The customer service is always good. February 2023: An absolutely outstanding experience from start to finish in every way. Daru is the rare restaurant to exceed the tremendous hype it has. My friend and my amazing experience started the day before, when Daru asked us if anyone in our party had any food restrictions, which my friend did. When we arrived for our weeknight reservation, we were seated immediately. What distinguishes Daru from almost anywhere I've been is that our server gave us a paper menu with the dishes my friend could eat based on the listed dietary restrictions starred-above and beyond service. The rest of our service was similarly excellent, with our server making some excellent recommendations that allowed us to try the dishes we wanted and additional dishes in the most cost-efficient way. Our dishes were delivered in a timely manner and the meal itself was extremely affordable. Daru adds an automatic 20% charge to all checks and tells you on the menu; our experience was worth all of that gratuity. The food itself was incredible-a modernist take on Indian cuisine. Everything my friend and I had was good and ranged from fine to incredible. I recommend sharing 4-5 small and large plates per two people like my friend and I did to enjoy as many dishes as possible. Black Dal Burrata-my least favorite dish of the evening, but still fine. The lentils could have had a bit more flavor and the dish needed a side of rice, but the burrata was rich and creamy. Bread basket: The za'atar naan was fine but no need to order it, as the garlic naan was outstanding. The parota was good but needed more butter or oil. Chutneys and sauces: My favorites were the sour cherry chutney, the chimichurri, and tomato-szechuan. I love spicy food but the habenero-kashimir chili overwhelmed overwhelmed any other flavors. Blue Cheese Reshmi Kebab-One of Daru's most recommended and unique dishes, it lives up to the hype. The chicken was well-cooked, the cashew provides crunch, the cheese umami, and the sour cherry sauce complemented everything perfectly. Striped Bass Paturi: Simply outstanding. Perfectly cooked fish with good spice, greens, and creaminess. Some of the best bass I've ever had. I highly recommend Daru for your next special occasion and make sure to book well in advance if you want a reservation between 6-9 PM-there are many reasons Daru is this popular! Things to note: 1. Daru is small and it can be hard to hear at times. 2. The surrounding neighborhood isn't the safest-I would recommend not coming alone at night and taking a rideshare after dark if possible (avoid public transit and parking nearby) 3. The lot next to Daru is currently a construction zone, so you may see a rat or two if you are at Daru after dark and sitting by the window. This is beyond Daru's control; something to note for the next few months if you go there.
