My sister-in-law wanted to take us here because she knows the owner. It's a hole-in-the-wall place where you just order. Since we were visiting, they put a couple tables together, so that we could dine there. I ordered a mango lassi and we all shared some naan, rice, tikki masala, and butter chicken. We had a few more dishes, but I don't remember what that name was. Hubby also ordered some kind of kabob, but it wasn't like the photo. Overall, the food was tasty and delicious. Prices were very reasonable as well.

Gulab Jamun underwhelmed me. Texture was off, cardamom wasn't suttle it was nonexistent. I fed it to the birds outside. Mango lassi was a miss. The place smells amazing. If I'm back in D.C. will try more savory dishes, but as it stands this wasn't worth the price at all. I've had better from a grocery stor

This is my go to Indian takeout spot! The food is very reasonably priced especially considering the huge portions they give. When in doubt, get the chicken biryani. Love love love the biryani! If I'm feeling extra hungry, I also get chicken vindaloo or chicken tikka masala with naan. The spice level of the vindaloo is perfect. The staff are really nice too and sometimes give me free naan. The place is pretty small but there are tables if you want to eat in the store.

This is one of my go-to takeout spots. Each time, I get the biryani (chicken or lamb). I believe it's one of the best values in the area. There's heaping amounts in the box and it's consistently flavorful. It's usually enough for two or almost three meals for me! I have yet to try much of the rest of the menu. I got a curry dish once, but I always prefer the biryani over anything else. I call ahead of time to pick up my order and they always have it ready in about 15 minutes. +1 for fast pickup! FYI very little seating inside.

I like Sacrificial Lamb! It's super convenient for me to grab takeout, doesn't break the bank, and the food is good! I call 15 minutes before I want my order and it's ready when I get there. I also like that they have late hours-- great for night owls like me. My go-to dishes are the Lamb Biryani and the Chicken Korma Kashmiri. The Lamb Biryani is a big portion for the price and has a lot of flavor.

I had the tandoori chicken and naan to go and was somewhat satisfied with the meal. There were 4 pieces of chicken in total; I would've been satisfied with a couple more. The chicken itself wasn't too dry but it wasn't particularly moist either. The highlights from the meal were the naan, which was decent, and the channa/chickpeas, which were really well spiced. I would come back here in a pinch but feel like there should be more chicken in a serving. Also keep in mind that the restaurant only takes cash, so make sure to have that if you visit.

Thought this would be a quick in and out order, and we ordered 20 minutes ahead of time, and when I got there to pick it up, they hadn't even started the order even though I arrived at the specified pickup time. That being said we ordered 2 kabobs, the chicken/lamb and the fish kabob. The fish kabob was a grilled salmon, which was pretty good taste wise, but it was pretty dry. The chicken and lamb were also pretty dry, but drenched in sauce it was pretty good. The naan bread was soggy. I was hoping for more crunch especially since they advertise as the best naan in the DMV. The chick pea soup was delicious though!! Good for something quick in the area, but I'd avoid the kabobs, I would try the currys next time.

We got delivery from Sacrificial Lamb and were both happy with our food. I really like that they offer a vegetarian platter where you can choose two different dishes to try. I also appreciated the small amount of Chana masala that came with the samosas. My novratan korma was tasty, as was the palak paneer. The peshwari naan was enjoyable, and the garlic naan stood out to us as being pretty dang good. My fiancé enjoyed his butter chicken too. We'd order from here again, for sure.

Lamb Rogan Josh, Mango Lassi. Rice about to be dumped all over. Plate weird but fine.

The food is excellent. There is not much space to eat inside and it was too cold to eat outside, but the food was fast and really good. I got the paneer makhani (aka butter paneer) off of the vegetarian menu and my husband got the lamb rogan josh. We split some garlic naan and had mango lassis. I absolutely demolished my curry. The plate was a little weird (pic) and the space a little cramped, but the food was so gooooood. I'd recommend ordering to go. At least one food app person came when we were there. There's a cute outside area but too cold for now.

Outside of container. What a mess!

First things first the food was delicious. Out of everything I ordered my samosas were my least favorite item. The chicken tikka was soft and flavorful and cooked well. Basmati rice - tender. The naan was fresh and warm. The packaging is where things fall apart. Sauce everywhere and soaking through everything. Stained towels now fill my hamper. Maybe a more secure system should be implemented?

The broccoli was crispy, the beef was moist. No thickening flavor like flour or corn starch was evident in its tasty sauce. It wasn't even too salty. Go figure! Was warmly greeted, seated, and given an overview of the menu and brunch package options; decided to opt-out of the bottomless drinks, which had an alcoholic (mimosas and Bloody Marys) and NA (juices, sodas, drip coffee and black tea), as I wanted to try their more speciality coffee and tea. The drinks I ordered were the Turkish coffee, Levantine-style tea and digestive tea. All were quite solid. The Turkish coffee was as robust as espresso, yet not overwhelmingly bitter and slightly sweetened. The Levantine tea was a smooth black tea with natural sweetness and layered with a mint steep and floral notes of hibiscus, and rose petal. The digestive was more herbaceous with fennel and pomegranate zest, in addition to a steep of spearmint. The food was more hit-or-miss. On one hand, the meat and seafood was all very delicious and well-made. The braised lamb shank is their speciality, and well-deserved, as it's moist, savory and tender. The short rib similarly so, and the chicken casserole, lamb biajeen, Adana kebab and steamed lavraki (sea bass) were all similarly flavorful. On the other hand, the sides and mezze options were more mixed; the dolmas and fresh bites cheese with za'atar/nuts were delightful, however, the borek, cheeses, and some of the dips tasted reheated and/or not super fresh, the Brussels sprouts were quite scorched, and the savory salmon waffles were bone dry and flavorless. The French onion soup had the right flavor profile, but not the intensity; it tasted watered-down and even looked it, due to the noticeable oil blebs on the surface. Dessert was similar; the melon and fruits were fresh enough, the yogurt bar was quality, the kadayif nutty with the sweetness balanced, and the layali lubnan was intoxicatingly tasty, but many of the baked goods looked rather packaged and the fondue station was mediocre. The staff, however, were extremely friendly (my special regards to Mia, she's a great conversationalist and a sweetheart!). They answered all my questions, and one of the bartenders even gave me half a lemon to zuzh up my tea with. As I said at the start, more 3.5 stars than 3 stars. The core of their offerings are all quality, so I can't quite dock them a full two stars for the food quality because they had buffets aren't usually renown for said quality. You really can't expect perfection from AYCE, even though I naturally encourage the management to avoid sourcing pre-made items from Sysco if possible. The friendly staff and eloquent Eastern Mediterranean ambiance allows me to still say I enjoyed this experience, and may be back for dinner in the future.

I do think this review could be beneficial for others with a number of severe food allergies, but I want to be clear about how the restaurant tried to rectify the situation because my bad experience wouldn't necessarily reflect the experience of others. The reservation site requires you to input any allergies ahead of time so that they can accommodate you. I've used this many times before at other restaurants and never had an issue. In my experience, restaurants will be prepared with the allergy ticket at arrival. I have also eaten at numerous Indian restaurants before without issue, and I had a friend with me who had suggested this place because Indian restaurants are usually accommodating, in their experience. When I sat down at our table and mentioned my allergies, the waiter immediately said that I chose the wrong restaurant. This struck me as quite rude, and I was shocked because I have eaten at so many restaurants in my life and have never been told that. It left a bad taste in my mouth, but we continued to try to work something out. They were unaware of my allergens, so they went to print the allergen ticket and discuss with the chef. When they returned, they pointed to 2 items on the menu. Both of those had my worst allergens in them. At this point I was starting to get concerned for my safety if I were to eat what they prepared. After identifying those allergens on the pre-written reservation ticket, they spoke with the chef again and said they could make a dish from scratch. To be fair, they were doing their due diligence to rectify the issue, however, at this point I was concerned about the attitude toward my allergies and their mistake in suggesting what would be safe to eat. We decided to leave and went to Chef Geoff's down the street. I recommend you compare my experiences at these two restaurants if you have food allergies. Overall I was honestly shocked and mortified because I have never had an issue like this at any restaurant in my entire allergy-ridden life.
