I came here because I was craving noodles, which is a comfort food to me. Normally, out of ease, convenience & cost I'd go to Panda, but didn't. My dad was admitted the day before to the hospital, so this location was convenient to me, but what a TOTAL disappointment. When paying for my food, $12+ for Yaki Soba, I told the lady I would normally get noodles from Panda, but thought this would be better. I ordered the veggie Yaki Soba, as I do not eat meat. I wanted to get veggie tempura, but it was $6.99 & thought that was a little too much. If I added a dollar more I could have had a whole bento box, so I left to get a side of veggies from panda $4, came back and picked up my noodles. I saw a styrofoam container on the table near the cashier & thought, "I hope that's not mine, it's far too small for the $12 I paid" and sure enough it was. Also, almost all the Asian restaurants I've been going to used these cool plastic black with clear tops containers for their take out to guarantee no spillage of food & sauce. I had to drive back to the hospital, carry my stuff in & by the time I sat to eat my food, all the sauce spilled into the bag! YUCK! And on top of it, very little flavor in the noodles & hardly any veggies, which was the point of ordering VEGGIE YAKI SOBA. What a disappointment!!! That dish I do definitely recommend. The worst dish was the beef teriyaki. The beef is somewhat tender but the flavor of the meat is not that great. Not to mention the texture of the meat is also a big almost like stringy. One positive thing is the beef portion is really big. Big enough for 2, maybe 3 people. The inside decor is nice but nothing authentic. The staff was friendly somewhat. Service wise it was ok but not fantastic. I actually like getting a bite to eat here with friends and family, whether it's sit down or for pick up. Don't go in expecting your high end Japanese restaurant and food if that is what you're used to, but It's a pretty popular place and during the weekends it's packed. The environment is clean every time I go here, so that is a big plus. The prices are reasonably affordable and there is a variety of options to choose from. I waited an extra 30 minutes on top of the 15 minutes even though my order was ready and it was not busy at all. I have been coming to Oh Sushi since 2014. Every time I come home to visit Oxnard nothing has changed!! Still amazing sushi that hits the spot every time!! Still the same fast & friendly service. The restaurant is very organized and clean. I tried the volcano roll for the first time and it was delicious! I also had my go to which is the Eel roll, and still one of my favorite rolls at Oh Sushi. I also tried the cold sake and Sapporo beer. It was pretty strong and gave my sister and I a good buzz. The sake is also fairly cheap!! My sister had the spicy chicken Ramen noodles. They were tasty, However the presentation could've been better. Usually their ramen presentation is on point. This time around it looked like they kind of just threw it together and mixed it up. They also didn't give my sister the spoon that is used to drink the broth with. Slow service, the lady at the register didn't acknowledge me for about a solid minute and when she did she just stood there and stared at me. I had no idea what to say so I asked for 2 people and she said "okay" and just kept staring at me. Once I was seated outside my server brought me my sauces which had a nice long hair in it. Picture included. I'm posting this before I even get my food because the service is so horrible. UPDATE: 55 minutes later ( not over exaggerating ) waiting for 3 California rolls and we just left. Do not fall for their 50% off marketing. Been here once and we were moving and just needed a quick bite for a well deserved break. Ordered a few rolls from their "50% off" menu and went on our way. The sushi was sub par, rice was falling apart as we picked it up which is a sign of bad technique by whomever made it. The taste was decent but we were pretty close to starving as it was our first meal in the last 8 hrs after a whole day of moving so that could have been a factor on the taste. Overall it did its job of filling us up. My main issue with this restaurant other than the subpar technique used to make our rolls is their marketing. They pull the ole bait and switch where they raise their price of their food then discount it to the normal price. Even their math is wrong, like the CA roll is $7.95 and 50% off should be $3.95 but they'll charge you $4.50 for the roll, I guess their math expert was away the day they made their menu. Most of these "discounted" prices would be normal prices at other much better sushi joints like I Love Sushi which is in every way superior to this place. They may cost an extra dollar or two for their food, but I'll be glad to pay it for their much better quality and they don't even resort to sleazy marketing like Oh Sushi. read more

Ive ordered the bento box for lunch and it was good. I decided to order dinner for the family and sorry to say, it was disappointing. The tempura in my box was only potato and one shrimp. My daughter ordered the tempura appetizer and same plus one zucchini. The shrimp was breaded and hard. And tempura should be light and crispy. My husband's orange chicken was nothing but fried dough. I tried asking if they could put chicken and I would pay extra but the weird waitress did not let me finish talking and then told me no. I feel maybe she could have gone out of her way to possibly ask instead of just making it her decision. When we got our bill, I was shocked to see they added a tip to our total as this was the first time, I have ever seen this. I disagree with this completely as no restaurant should have to force any customer to pay any amount of tip. The place is a small restaurant, but there are several tables. Take your pick for indoor or outdoor seating or at the sushi bar. Menus have nice pics of food. Rolls are good size & amount. Its like a quick sushi stop. My son is a very picky eater, but he loves the rolls here. Some of the faves are Spicy Tuna Roll, Golden Tiger Roll & Dragon Roll. Must try any & all of the Tempura Rolls. Our seaweed salad was a great size, accompanied w/ cucumber slices. Only thing, was that I had to pick out some of the lettuce that looked bad. I didn't make any fuss about it, just ate around it. The servers are nice, but didn't really tend to us. We came here around 1:30pm on Easter Sunday. It wasn't too busy. We left, with our bellies happy. We will definitely return & have more Sushi :) read more

I'm not a sushi snob! I do differentiate between good and bad sushi. My mom took me here for lunch. We both ordered the Chef's Special (5 pieces of sushi and your choice of special roll). I ordered the baked dynamite roll and my mom had the caterpillar roll. Both were about average. Decent, but not very good. It's Oxnard, I don't expect much outside of good Mexican food. The sushi, was average to a slightly below average. I don't like how sushi places that try to hide wasabi between the fish and rice to mask the freshness of the fish. The fish was okay, not too fresh or of good quality. They served miso soup, very piping hot, and dark in flavor. I like that! The service was good. Very nice waitresses. Considering this place is called "Oh!" Sushi. "Oh" as in Sandra, Dave, Janice, etc. You know it's owned by Koreans! *They give you a toothpick in a matchbook thing, and also oil absorbent pads in a matchbook thing. Pretty cool! read more

The waitress said the kitchen said it was beef and that I'm wrong and the only way to fix it is to go back and show them that it's wrong. Then she hung up on me.
