Stopped here on the way to a hike. Ordered a cappuccino. It was more of a latte. Not horrible flavor, but not what i ordered. Barista was friendly.

    loved the lavender latte!

I got lost driving down the highway looking for the Sequim Lavender festival (July 2015). I desperately wanted to make a U-turn but there was no way for me to turn around without ending up at Ohana Coffee (a small little shack), which was fine with me as the girl inside was very friendly and the Lavender Latte was the first treat I had in Washington made with Sequim's renowned lavender flower. I would have thought it would taste funny but it was absolutely fabulous. I asked the girl about the origin of Ohana, which means "family" in Hawaiian; come to find out the owner is a big fan of Hawaii, so I couldn't have felt more at home, even if I was totally lost! I eventually found the Lavender festival thanks to the girl behind the counter; sometimes the side trips are the best ones!

I saw a few different ones but what really drew me in was the Nettle Leaf and Seed candy bar. This one was very good and as tge description indicates very unique. The chocolate flavor was definitely present but it also had herbal and organic flavor characteristics at work as well which definitely made this sweet experience unique and fun!

The owner is the founder of the Goodness Tea brand and sells all the amazing loose-leaf tea and wonderful treats (e.g., granola and muffins) that my wife and I have been buying at the Farmer's Market and local shops for months. She greets everyone with bounding warmth and insights into each product, which are made with an impressive commitment to the healthiest ingredients, locally-sourced products, and socially responsible packaging. An excellent pit stop when we're running an errand in Sequim or heading out for a weekend getaway. Vegans should feel right at home, while the rest of us realize what we've been missing. =)

Perhaps more importantly, the pies. OMG the pies. Home made, perfect balance between fruit and sugar, and on the Marion berry pie, a perfect crumble crust. I come for the chili and pie. Both are delicious. I add on sour cream and cheese with Fritos to my chili and get a bowl. It's enough to fill me up for two meals. But for most a bowl is nice and hearty to fill you up. A cup will want you craving for more. The Marion berry pie is absolutely delicious. A bit on the pricy side but that's just the economy inflating everything. I would say it's worth it. The Berrys are nice and tart and the crust and crumb are buttery goodness. I always eat this pie while I'm driving and regret not getting two slices. I got the Bedford ginger beer and it was pretty tasty. Overall, if I'm ever in the area and even if I'm 1.5 hours away I come here. Get yourself some pie and chili.

When i asked the poor young barista to state which health code (state law) it violates, their response pivots to its against company policy. When i mention i have made this purchase many times before the response is those employees didn't know company policy. Now, i cant attest to the factuality of that statement, but considering i travel a fair bit, and have not ever experienced a surprise like this before in 20+ states and literally 100's of starbucks i have visited, i'm left to feel sorry for all those uninformed Barista's OR maybe .... this is a new company policy or simply this stores policy. i'll have to run a double blind experiment to find out.
