In truth, Ohana is a Hawaiian term meaning "family" (in an extended sense of the term, including blood-related, adoptive or intentional). My family & I highly recommend their services for your needs. I want to thank the owner, Ryan, & his staff Jerome & Jose who went out of their way to service a move on short notice. They approached my needs with patience, kindness, humor & wit. Non-arrogant confidence & industry knowledge made it seem effortless. This move was scheduled outside of their typical locations serviced, same day (technically same afternoon), and 100% hands-free on our part due to limitations on our part. Ryan understood our needs, gave upfront pricing & infinite patience waiting on the exchanging of info throughout the day for info necessary to complete his paperwork. No anger or negativity at some of the delays we experienced. That's grace & mercy exhibited on his part, for which I am truly grateful. Ryan's staff came from the Longwood, FL area to Ocala, FL area, at the end of their day to assist us. Likely tired and sore, but it never showed on their faces or body language. These 2 men loading up our belongings were handpicked to assist us. This is why... INTENTIONAL OHANA. I watched from afar the respect for my belongings exhibited by these 2 men. Family members who've passed away or moved far away, some in service to our country, their things were moved efficiently but with care. OHANA. Jose at one point set something down that belonged to my mother (who we lost to cancer), started to walk away from it, stopped to adjust its placement to stabilize & ensure it was safely placed in our storage unit. OHANA. Boxes with 3-4 generations of mom's family photo albums and irreplaceable memories carried within its housing were not just tossed into a stack or manhandled. OHANA. An ancient sewing machine. OHANA. Gifts are given to my mother from dearly departed friends who became family. OHANA. My now-adult children's belongings: multiple types of crafts and artwork, created in school, family book collections, even a large collection of stuffed animals, special occasion clothing from proms, 4 graduations, and things from a life pre-covid-19. 24 yrs of things that made me a mother and parent, a time in my life that can't be replaced, were carried and placed with the Ohana standard of care. My concerns when my estimation might have been falling short of space when looking at all of the items in their 26' truck, was it really possible to have it all fit into an 8'x12.5" storage unit were acknowledged and approached as an opportunity & challenge to solve my puzzle, not a complication or hassle. Experience + industry know-how from Jerome and conveying that expertise with Jose on things as they worked together, we were locked up and finished on schedule. A complete success which they celebrated with us momentarily before we went our separate ways for the night. They were a blessing to have been sent to our aid. I contacted Ohana's owner again as we were leaving the storage facility to thank him again as well as tell him personally that their company was outstanding and despite this being a special circumstance, I would love the opportunity to call upon them again for our future needs, if at all possible. Ryan was very gracious, despite the time of the evening, and we had a great conversation about how the father/son business began, the loving memories of both of our respective family members recently lost came up and the meaning of family is a core belief that is being upheld in all manner of this company and its employees and customers. The move started off with working with Ryan to get the details of the move in place. It was a quick and easy process to get things scheduled. He also quickly informed us of an unexpected delay due to a family emergency with one of his employees that the move would be a bit later in the day than expected, which was perfectly fine with us. Ryan also called the day before the move to confirm the details. When Matt and the two other gentlemen arrived they quickly began their work. In total it took about 4 hours for them to move our 2 bedroom apartment with garage (from the third floor with only stairs!). All three of the men were professional, courteous, friendly, and best of all, nothing was damaged. The cost of the service was reasonable as well. When I first spoke to Ryan, the Owner I knew right away this was the company I was going to use for my move. Ryan was so honest and upfront with me and warned me of hidden fees and other things to watch out for when getting quotes from other companies. The movers were professional, worked very hard to ensure my furniture was moved without a scratch, and guided me in how best to pack certain items so that wouldn't break.
