So we skipped that ordered the half chicken pretty good i think it was baked but good burnt end sandwich just perfect good job on that pulled pork sandwich very good quantity was generous bbq beans were awesome dear owners please dont put pickles loose so the juices flow into EVERYTHING it was gross most all will wrap in plastic wrap to prevent that. pickle juice in EVERYTHING sort ruins the bbq you almost got 1 star for that. just stop doing it. we would love to try the ribs but you gotta come down from that silver spoon and join reality. good job with everything else though! read more

This place is fantastic! We were passing thru on a trip to Iowa and it was well worth the stop. The beef ribs are so tender, the cream corn is really different and good. The brownie for dessert was warm and sweet. If you need lunch or dinner I highly recommend this new, clean and friendly place for barbecue and steaks. read more

Took a 70 mile motorcycle ride to go here on a nice Saturday. Place was busy enough at 4 pm, usually a good sign. Wanted to try a lot of different things. Brisket sandwich was good, not as smoky as I like but adding some sauce made it very good. Pulled pork was excellent. Ribs were meaty, a little dry at first but the meat fell off the bone and was nice and smoky. The fries were freshly made and excellent. The beans had great flavor but were really thick. A good way to round out the meal were the onion straws... fantastic. Not greasy, right out of the fryer hot. Lots of fried chicken-like breading with lots of tasty little crunchies at the bottom of the basket. A very filling meal and took some home. The price was reasonable and the service was friendly and fairly fast considering how busy it was. We'd go back for certain. read more

We got there by causality... The best causality!!! We ended up having an amazing time. That was the best burger I've ever tried. Fresh and delicious. That Cow Pie and Ice cream I live far from there but I don't mind the driving. I would drive many times just to eat there over and over again. We need more places like this! P.S. I am from Lexington and drove across the river today to this place, proportions are very big and well worth the money not overpriced, people are friendly there. Their food is much better then the spotted pig in Lexington with bigger portions for about the same or a little less. read more

I think the number of stars might depend on what you ordered. I ordered the Cajun Special which was essentially red beans with sausage and a side of rice and toast. However, I saw barbecue ribs and onion rings at several other tables which looked wonderful. Also, the either say your order number or call what your order is. I ordered the Cajun Special and had number 57 they came out and yelled red beans and rice so I didn't know it was mine - all the previous were called as a number. read more

My sister and I happened to visit Richmond and we stopped by here for dinner. The owner immediately knew that we were from out of town and was very hospitable to us. The food was amazing, great quality and fresh! The service was amazing too! My sister ordered brisket and I had the tenderloink (yup! I spelled it correctly) we also ordered the delicious portobello mushrooms that was cut into thick pieces and fried, as well as the onion straws that were amazing! Visiting with my aunt & she's been wanting to try this place... & wow! So many things to choose from both on the regular menu & the specials board. She ordered the bacon quiche from the specials & I ordered the bacon brisket burger....oh my lordy the portions were soo big we could've easily shared! I live in Calif so won't be able to return in any time soon but my aunt will def be back. Staff is friendly & patient, & the restaurant was clean. They have a drive thru too. A new barbeque place in Richmond that is quite good. I had the beef brisket sandwich and it was well above average, in fact I would rank it above that served at Jack Stack in Kansas City. I opted for the double as opposed to the regular and it was quite large! Onion straws for a side are fine but be prepared for them to be greasy, it is just the BBQ way! French fries were pretty solid as well. There are some burger options that I did not get to try but would be more than willing to do so in the future if back in Richmond. They serve Coke products, a negative for me but if you are a fan go for it! Hours are a bit odd, Thursdays - Saturdays, 11am to 7pm. More than worth it to stop by though! read more

The surprise fries are the absolute best, homemade fries with pulled pork and cole slaw. That is something you just have to experience to understand. My description does not do it justice. My husband has had the sandwiches and ribs there also. Great flavors!!! The owner is people friendly and even does some of the kitchen duties. The service is wonderful! read more

My family and I live in Lexington had been wanting to venture across the river and try this establishment for some time. We finally did and we were very impressed. We all ordered sandwiches and a large order of fries w/baked beans. The portions are huge, the food was made to order, and the establishment was clean and friendly. Price wise they are on par with some of the other BBQ joints in Kansas City such as LC's, BB's Lawnside, and A Little BBQ Joint, my family of 4 ate for 40$ and we were stuffed, we could've easily cut a couple sandwiches in 1/2 and gotten plenty to eat for 1/2 the price. I ordered the Pork & Pickle it was delicious, my husband had a combo sandwich with sausage and burnt ends, my daughter had a plain turkey sandwich, all were moist, well cooked, and wonderful. My only con their fries are shoestring fries cooked well done. I'm not a shoestring fry fan but that's just personal opinion. My kids loved the fries and scarfed them up. The buns were amazing, husband kept raving about the texture and flavor. We will definitely go back again and try more items. My family gives it 2 thumbs up. read more

Not friendly. No greeting from anyone just a girl standing there looking at me. Out of pulled pork sandwich? Got the large turkey sandwich and large fries to go for $14! I was handed 2 bags with a comment of "here you go," ... whatever happened to "thank you?" Barely enough for a meal. Turkey looked and tasted like it had been under a heat lamp wasting away all day. Oink & Moo BBQ is a good choice for lunch if you're in Richmond. My wife and I recently stopped there and had to wait maybe 10 minutes for a table because it was pretty crowded. The restaurant is small, has no booths, and the decor is pretty sparse. We ordered two large sandwiches, 2 large fries and one drink. The food was great and everyone was so friendly, which is what you expect in a small town. Just a couple of drawbacks: because this is a small town place and food is prepared from scratch, don't get in a hurry. It took a while for our order to arrive but it was worth the wait. Second, lunch for two was over $33, which means we can't afford to eat there every day, just on selected occasions. The food, service, and people were just wonderful, so give Oink & Moo a try. read more

Disappointed in the ribs. They are not spareribs, but St Louis baby back ribs. Very few BBQ restaurants in this part of the state sell them as they don't have the flavor or juiciness of spareribs. They were overcooked and dry. I may be overly critical, but this place would never make it in Kansas City. read more

I have traveled all over the US tasting BBQ to find the best and this place is #2, next to Memphis. I have eaten at Kansas City Joe's, Bryant's, Jack Stack, Zarda's and Wabash to name a few, and none of these compare to Oink & Moo. The meat is smoked to perfection, even the meatloaf, then it's sliced and grilled before being served. Delicious! I have eaten everything on the menu and special board and found nothing I didn't like! My friends from St. Louis, Buckner, Independence and Nevada MO travel here often because the food and service is sooooooo good. Everything is homemade, with love. The staff cares about 2 things...the quality of their food and each customers experience. You'll even find the owners in the kitchen cooking, serving food, greeting customers as they come in the door and walking customers to their car after they've dined. They are only open 3 days a week, and you can see me there at least 2 of those days! Arrive hungry because their portions are so generous or share with your guest. Found Oink & Moo by happenstance and what good fortune it was. Told them it was my first visit and they were very friendly and informative about the menu while emphasizing that everything was made from scratch. Enjoyed a brisket-pork combo with outstanding fresh cut fries and slaw that was some of the best I've had. Also sampled the onion strings which were by far the best I've ever had anywhere. Their barbecue rivals anything found in Kansas City or other so-called bbq capitals. Will gladly detour to savor their fine food anytime I am nearby, just wish they were closer to where I live and open at least 5 days a week. read more
