As Mom and I walked in we were expecting a table service but immediately noticed it was a place your order and we call when it's ready establishment. OK we're game. Not disappointed. The food exceeded our expectations. We'll stop there again when in the Trussville area. The cinnamon sugar wontons are very good. Be sure to grab a bag. The chicken teriyaki and Mongolian beef rice bowls were very flavorful. I think they'd both be great with the optional noodles. The restaurant was very clean. Empty messy tables didn't remain that way for long. The solo order-taker, server, table-cleaner, jack-of-all-trades was very efficient and maintained a friendly vibe.

A favorite of ours. Service quick and playlist in background was reminiscent of 80s wave, family friendly and variety of customers. Limited seating options but still intimate and not crowded. Onion jam was exquisite on the Kobe beef! Garlic noodles flavorful and not too heated. Pork dumplings crispy on the outside and soft on the inside.

We celebrated our 3rd anniversary at Mr. West, and the wings never disappoint--especially with the Wednesday special. Service was smooth and friendly; you order at the counter and they bring it right to your table. The casual, comfortable vibe makes it perfect for a laid-back night out. We'll definitely be back!

Good food if a little overpriced. Cute location. Decent but extremely brief service. Having 1 server on a Sunday morning is tough.

The food was cold when it reached our table. Noodles and spring rolls could have used more salt. The patio seating was nice

I tried this place for lunch with a friend & we were both pleased with everything! Since it was a midday visit, it wasn't crowded or loud. The service was great and our food came out very quickly. I ordered the teriyaki chicken rice bowl and it was perfect, the pineapple kimchi was a nice addition! I've also tried them through DoorDash & everything was still just as good as it was when we dined in. I'd definitely recommend eating here.

YOU MUST TRY THIS PLACE!!!!! And you have to try the kahlua nachos. One of my all time fav meals. Everything there is good. I also love the crab rangoons, their wings, the shrimp tempura. It's nice and cozy and tucked away. But the food is a hidden gem. Oh and don't forget to try their old fashions ;)

I've been wanting to try this place, so the kids and I drove out to downtown Trussville last night. The meal was amazing! Parking is nuts. Lots of small shops and restaurants in a very small area, but after a few minutes we were inside. The menu was reasonably priced. We started with the wings. Smoked, then fried, and smothered in a milder hot sauce and yum yum sauce, the wings were incredible! Some of the best wings in Birmingham. My daughter and I got the bulgogi steak and pork belly Bao Buns. We also ordered the wonton chips for an extra $2 each. The buns were delicious. The soft, pillowy steamed buns were Heaven! So delicious. The steak sauce was a little strong for me- I preferred the pork belly. But both were delicious. We will definitely be back! One thing to note: this menu is very different from the new Mr. West Chow Hall that is in Lakeview.

Great super nice staff, found by Yelp. Got the Thai chicken steak, it was good but won't be my go to. Also got chicken Thai nachos and pan seared dumplings. Those was great. Would order either one of those again. Also they had cinnamon won tons got them has well for dessert. These will be on our list to return. It is located in the entertainment district.

Our 1st time eating @ the location in Trussville. The quality and taste of the food was very consistent with the Lakeview location. All four dishes were packed with tons of flavor. Plenty of outdoor seating. Service was great and our food came out very quickly.

We've come here several times since they've opened and gotten food to go and sat down inside. This is an offshoot of EastWest, a favorite from downtown Birmingham. We've had their bao buns - I love the pork belly, while my wife loves the soft shelled crab. The wings and nachos are both good, but out of those two, I'd definitely recommend the nachos as the must try. The burger is definitely a surprise, and a good one at that. I got it on our most recent stop here, wanting to try something new, and it was very good. I'd definitely get it again. They also have specials they advertise on their instagram, so we try to follow them on there to see what they cook up / devise next. Definitely worth following and giving them a try!

Very good food here. Loved the wings. We have frequented EastWest restaurant in downtown Birmingham and have wanted ti give this place a try for a while. Easy in with no wait to order here. Very clean environment. The young lady that took our order was very attentive to all of the tables seeing what was needed and constantly cleaning. You come straight in and see the menu on the lighted screen. Wait for the food was seriously short. I am impressed. Gotta come back. Wings are banging. Parking is rough though and finding it was a minor challenge but well worth the search.

I don't make it out to Trussville that often but will come out more after my lunch at Mr. West's Asian Kitchen. It's a quiet and comfortable lunch spot with lovely outdoor seating. The service is order at the counter, and the person assisting me was helpful and explained some of the finer points of the menu. I did not get a bao, as most people have recommended. I will definitely do that next time. This time I got the side salad, pork dumplings, and west wings. The wings are the star of the show. Smoked first then fried, they give you the smokiness of a smoked wing with the crunch of a deep fried wing. They were tender and the saucing was noticeable but not overpowering in flavor or heat. The most noticeable flavor was smoke, which was pleasant (to my tastes). The dumplings were better than standard dumplings in how they were dressed, which was a lovely ginger-based sauce, I think. The salad was totally decent with the standard ginger dressing. Overall, very impressive in terms of taste and complimentary flavors among these items, enough to make me excited about my next visit. My one caveat: this was enough food for lunch, but it required two small plates and a salad (for me). With the price point (plus tip and tax) this was close to $30. It really is good food you're paying for, but if you wanted to feed 2-3 people, this could get expensive fast. It's not a huge caveat, as I think it's worth it, but an important note for the budget-conscious restaurant-goer. Will be back. 100%.

Overall consistently have been happy with everything I have eaten, but I will say that while still pretty good the burgers are not as good as they were early on. One of the big draws for me has always been the outdoor patio area that is shared with the other businesses that are part of the Trussville Entertainment District (TED). The covering over the area keeps you out of the direct sun but still has a very open air feel. On my most recent visit I got the Feral Smash Burger with Cheddar instead of American Cheese. I ordered the tots for my side because I swore that I had gotten them many times in the past. Looking back at all my photos, clearly I was mistaken. Since I am not a big fan of sweet potato the bartender brought me fries instead to go with my side of Beer Cheese which is well worth the added cost. Depending on when you go, you may have to go inside to order at the bar for the outdoor seating (such as I did today). Other days when the TED is busier and peak times you can order at the outdoor bar. For solo lunch dining I prefer other options in the TED but Ferus is great for groups and outdoor dining. I am sure I will be back especially when my daughter comes to town since she likes to refill her growler with the seasonal sours.

My friend ordered a sandwich with fried green tomatoes. She thought that the tomatoes were delicious! The batter on the tomatoes was crispy without being soggy. They were seasoned just right, in her opinion. Overall the food was ok. The service was really good. There seems to be a need for a little more training for the wait staff, which happens at most places these days. Including a key Garden Burger for my vegetarian daughter. Once she decided on a Cheese Quesadilla as an alternative, The sidewinder fries and tots were also not available as sides. The Street Corn Dip starter was the highlight. We were all scraping the sides of the bowl to get every last morsel. My daughter's Cheese Quesadilla was larger than she expected and filled with a lot of cheese. I split The Social Burger (beef patty topped with Gouda cheese, pimento cheese, local strawberry pepper jelly, fried green tomato & onion straws) and Shoestring Fries with my wife. For lunch it was enough, especially with the appetizer. I would order again! My son-in-law enjoyed his Trussvegas Burger (beef patty topped with cream cheese, jalapeno peppers, local strawberry pepper jelly, bacon & onion straws) and Fries as well. The person taking the order over the phone was very pleasant to deal with and likely was the same energetic person that took care of my wife when she picked it up. The 2 previous times have eaten here were dine in and I don't recall any of the service issues mentioned by others and the food was great then too. I hope that they will improve the website experience to include a current menu because that is key for us as well as others with dietary restrictions in preparing for and planning meals. This wasn't our first choice but being open at lunchtime on the holiday helped make the decision for us. We might try it again but other places will likely remain our first choice.

We were seated immediately, and our hostess also served as our waitress. Despite wearing multiple hats, she did a great job making recommendations, and every suggestion she made turned out to be a winner. The atmosphere had plenty of energy thanks to a live DJ, giving brunch a fun vibe. My only complaint was the volume. The music was loud enough that it made conversation at our table difficult. To drink, I ordered the It's a Henny Thang, while my wife chose the Rosa Goddess. Both cocktails were excellent and easily among the highlights of the meal. For brunch, we ordered the SKC Salmon Croquettes, Cajun Catfish & Grits, and SKC Chix & Waffles. The Cajun Catfish & Grits was the clear standout. The catfish was crispy, well-seasoned, and paired perfectly with the creamy grits. If you're visiting for brunch, this is the dish I'd recommend first. The Salmon Croquettes were also good. While they didn't quite reach the level of the catfish, they really came alive with a splash of Crystal Hot Sauce, which added just the right amount of acidity and heat. The only disappointment was the Chix & Waffles. The waffles were good but not particularly memorable, and the chicken wings didn't have quite the same wow factor we experienced during our previous visit. Overall, Simone's continues to impress with quality food, creative cocktails, and friendly service. While not every dish hit the same high note, the catfish and grits alone are worth the return trip, and the cocktails were outstanding. Recommendation: Order the Cajun Catfish & Grits, don't skip the cocktails, and if you prefer a quieter brunch, be prepared for the DJ to bring plenty of energy.
