I would describe this place as just OK. The parking lot is a mess. You have to navigate around potholes that would knock your car out of alignment. This could be dangerous, please be careful. The place is all you can eat but not a buffet. You order what you want and they make it to order. I had an iced tea to drink, it tasted really odd. Not sour just an odd flavor I could not explain. I had a bowl of clear soup and it had that same odd taste so my guess is the water in the area might have something to so with it. I had an Okinowa spicy Tuna roll. This was good enough that I had 2. It was comparable to a spicy Tuna roll at a fancier establishment so I was happy with that. I ordered Shrimp and Steak as an entree, I got Steak and chicken. The server came back, when I told her of the mistake she got the shrimp and told me I could just leave the chicken. No apology for the error or anything. The atmosphere was that of a remodeled fast food place and could use a facelift but appeared to be clean. Service was poor, food was OK and the maintainance could use some work. Food was ok, we ordered the all you can eat sushi. We tried various rolls which were just ok. As an appetizer I ordered the tuna poke which didn't even include all the ingredients listed under its name it just had avocado and weird citrusy sauce, tuna and sesame seeds. As mentioned before we did the all you can eat and the waitress only came to our table to take our initial order we waited about 10-15 minutes to place another order. We were the only ppl sitting in the restaurant so idk why it took so long to get service. The music in the restaurant is a bit loud too, so if that's the setting you like you'll love this. Solid sushi and hibachi. They offer a menu or an all you can eat offer. I highly recommend going hungry and getting your money worth using the AYCE option. The staff was friendly and attentive. Our server and at least two other people checked on us during our dining experience. I felt well taken care of. The food was flavorful and loaded with fresh fish. I really enjoyed my spicy tuna roll, California roll, and avocado. My fresh shrimp and salmon nigiri was spot on delicious. I wasnt a huge fan of their seaweed salad. YAAAAAASSSSSSS! All you can eat sushi AND hibachi for $26...I'm in love. Combined with that, the sushi is fresh and delicious. My favorite is the Spicy Bomb and I combine that with a Steak, Chicken, and Shrimp Hibachi plate to make for an excellent dinner. Everything except the sushi is farm to table, no usda inspections or any kind of actual cleaning chemicals are used except fabulouso that's even used to clean the dishes. This spot is a favorite of my friends and I whenever I come home to visit my family down in Dothan. If you are looking for a place that you can have some Japanese style hibachi or some nice sushi but don't feel like going super formal this is your spot. We love their hibachi combinations which come with everything you expect ( salad, soup, veggies, rice, and your meats) and their sushi is really good too. I had the Dragon Roll with the Vegetable Tempura appetizer because I was feeling like eating a bit more and it was delicious. The roll came with a good sized portion of eel and the shrimp inside was cooked perfectly. Great option when you love all you can eat. Came across Oishi and decided to give it a go. What I found was a place that wasn't busy on a Tuesday with somE of the freshes sushi around. What I didn't realize was that for $26 the all you could eat applies to everything on the menu. What a deal, so I ordered two sushi dishes and the steak and chicken. Just didn't go wrong at all. The steak was cooked to perfection, and the chicken was perfect. The two sushi items were as fresh as you'd expect when sitting at a ocean front joint. These people have their stuff together. THE FORKS! I went to Oishi thinking that the silverware would be nice and tidy and clean and very well washed. When I unwrapped the napkin to place in my lap I was met by oblong crooked nasty disgusting atrocious revolting stomach twisting fork. I was very leased when I found out they had individually packaged chopsticks I could use instead of the fork. It was then brought to my attention that my neighboring Oishi consumer had found a curly blonde hair in their fried rice. After this incident I was very nervous to eat the food but I had already ordered my sushi. But I was pleasantly surprised to see a nice platter of sushi made very well and hairless. I ate the sushi and I must say it was very good. Overall bad experience but the food saved the day and the review. read more

I don't do 5 stars often, so you know I liked this place. All you can eat for $22 ($27 has more on the menu). And it was really good, and not heavy on the rice to fill you up quickly. The spicy tuna had good kick, spicy crab was rather mild though. The Unagi was good. Edamame wasn't over salted, just a light salt so I liked that. The miso was not strong, kind of mild on the flavor, but enjoyable. The only real flaw I found was the fried ice cream was too heavy on the crust We will be back. read more

My wife and I came to this restaurant for the first time tonight. It was absolutely fantastic. The portion sizes were excellent and the pricing was very reasonable. We found the sushi to be very fresh and the hibachi steak to be incredibly tender and well seasoned. I highly recommend this to anyone who likes Japanese food. Very good sushi especially for a brand new restaurant. I was pleased with every roll our table had. Presentation was spot on and our plates looked fantastic. I was not disappointed by anything I had here and I will definitely go back. Service was fantastic as well. I am somewhat of a sushi snob and this place was very good, don't get me wrong, but there is room for improvement. If it was up there with some of the best sushi I have ever had I would give 5 stars but I have enjoyed sushi on another level. This is my go to sushi place. Moved here a year ago and have tried all the other sushi joints. This easily beats Rock and Roll sushi which is good but is a distant second in my opinion. The sushi here is always fresh and the service is quick and friendly. I've had the pleasure of eating sushi around the globe and this is as fine a dining experience as you will have in other locations i.e. California, Hawaii, Costa Rica, Thailand, etc..
