This is our go to sushi spot in Dothan. We have been coming here for years but hadn't been in quite a while. It was surprisingly not packed for a Saturday night but I think the fact that it was spring break maybe had something to do with that. We started with crab Rangoon, pork gyoza and I had a Mars roll and shaggy dog roll to start. Upon looking at the menu it seems like they have cut out a few things from the sushi menu but most of my favorites were still available. The Mars roll was great but the shrimp tempura inside of the Shaggy Dog roll was a bit hard. Our server was very attentive and polite. My fiance had a few different rolls and some of the raw fishes, I also tried the beef fried ramen. Definitely recommend. The steak in the noodles was so tender and tasty. It is all you can eat and with tax & water to drink (seafood makes me super thirsty so I always get water when I come here), it was $52 for two of us. Not a bad price at all compared to similar places where we live in north east Georgia where it costs us nearly $90 for all you can eat sushi. read more

At first glance you would have thought that all you can eat was set up like a buffet, but actually not. You get the menu and order anything on it . All types of sushi and appetizers. And to top it off hibachi made to order , somewhat. The service was spot on the waitress was very attentive, made quite a few suggestions and no waiting on service. In town for business and ordered take out at the register. Service was fine and food was quick. I ordered hibachi steak and a sushi roll steak was very undercooked and everything tasted the same which tells me they aren't cleaning the grills at they should. Everything had the same exact Smokey taste. Quality of steak was very poor for the price. Sushi was absolutely awful. Ate one piece of a spiced salmon roll and threw the rest away. Hopefully this was just a one off and not the standard. Will not come back when work travel brings me back to Dothan. read more

Service was great! Our server was friendly, helpful and attentive. We ordered several different rolls, all of which were good and came out in a reasonable amount of time. While everyone enjoyed their dinner, none of us were really blown away. There's lots of different things to try, from basic rolls to sashimi to specialty rolls. Did delivery but hotel is only 2 min away and food still hot when arrived. Probably the WORST hibachi I have ever had! Ordered 2 orders crab rangoons as the reviews were great. They hardly had any cream cheese and were greasy and soggy. They are supposed to be crunchy! I had the steak and chicken, friend had chicken and shrimp. All was bland with little flavor like it had no or very little seasoning on it. Steak/chicken plate, chicken/shrimp plate, 2 rangoons (only ate 1), 2 salads and 2 soups. When we ordered an item, she made sure it was still piping hot when it got to our table. The $22 per person does not include a drink, however we usually have water with our meals. Gross! Do not eat here! Horrible service and horrible food. This was the worse sushi I've ever had. Came for all you can eat, yet leaving still hungry and $55 lighter. Go to Publix instead... Appetizers were good, however sushi is slightly warm and simply gross. It tasted super fishy, and not in a normal way. Fried roll was clearly cooked in dirty, old oil. When delivering food they had the plates stacked on top of each other. My chicken noodles smelt and tasted like fish. To top it off, the price on the website is wrong. Expect to pay an extra dollar per person. They will not honor the website price, saying, "If you had asked the price before ordering we would have told you." Unprofessional management and cold service. Seemed like the server doesn't eat there either. Take your money and hunger elsewhere. read more

This was quite the surprise! I was craving sushi and Ooka had very good reviews. I was not expecting it to be AYCE and was hesitant when I saw that. Then I saw the menu! It was loaded with options and it had everything you could want. I tried the miso, yellowtail tataki, and several rolls. All of it was very good. Service was also very good and friendly. This place is always busy, and I can't figure out why. It's simply a below average Chinese buffet that's delivered to your table in order to save food. We loved the idea that you can order your own appetizer - not everyone likes the same thing & often you have to compromise - not here. If you like calamari but no one else does - that's ok, just order your own. I'm fact DO order the calamari- it was perfect- not chewy, deliciously crunchy batter. Food comes out quickly. Food is mediocre. Appetizers are served super fast but none are freshly made or hot to serve. Nigiri/sushi are ok, rice is a bit undercooked. Terrible service. 1) When we complained that our food was taking more than 40 minutes to come out, manager Sue came to our table and said, "it's all you can eat. Don't come back if you don't like it." we were utterly shocked by her unprofessional response. 2) We were a party of 6 adults and 2 babies. We were seated in the far left dining area, where the AC was turned on full blast (it was 60 degrees outside). We politely asked our server to adjust the temperature. 10 minutes after, the AC was still running. We asked again. 10 minutes later, we went to the hostess and asked them the same, and she goes "i don't know. I already told them" with an attitude. My husband then kindly explained how cold the room was and we are worried about our lil ones. 10 minutes later, we asked our server once again. It took 30 mins for them to listen and finally turn up the AC. (Not to mention that we weren't the only ones that were cold there.) At 20 some dollars, AYCE may sound enticing, but not when you can't really eat much after losing your appetite with such slow servings. If you want a good service/better food quality. read more

In the area, stopping in for lunch seemed like a good idea. For me, one of the best benefits of going to a buffet or all-you-can-eat restaurant is that if it doesn't taste good, you can just push it aside and try something else. Upon being seated, I was informed that if I order something and don't eat it, there may be an additional charge as they don't allow customers to waste food. I do agree that wasting good shouldn't be done. However, I wonder how my waitress would have responded if I were to ask "do you guarantee that everything will taste good?" In my book, there's a difference between good food and edible food that is usually found at restaurants utilizing this style of service. Although it is all-you-can-eat, you pick from a menu and they bring it to you. I don't know if this is because of pandemic protocols and will remain after restrictions are lifted. So I started with a couple Saba (nigiri) and an order (bowl) of beef friend rice. The sushi choices are limited. The Saba (mackerel) was a little darker than most places serve but still OK to eat (mackerel turns dark then black as it goes bad). I had to ask for additional ginger as they gave me just a few tiny slices. The rice was OK, but instead of green onions, they used either yellow or white onions. These are too big and chunky and taste different. In fried rice, I think it makes the rice less tasty. I also tried their deep fried spicy tuna roll and pan fried noodles (w/chicken). The STR was OK...soy sauce and ginger made the difference. The noodle dish had way too many onions and they were large slivers. I pushed most of them aside. The chicken portions tasted pretty good and the noodles were just OK in my book. There's a large shared parking lot. The inside decor was nicely done. The lunch price is just two dollars cheaper than the dinner price, but the dinner menu is also a little different. There are a few other sushi restaurants in town...I'll probably try one of them before coming back here again. read more

I've been here on two occasions and both had excellent customer service experiences. The sushi was amazing. I got the shaggy dog roll and it was fresh, well made and tasted amazing! The crab rangoon, shrimp shumai, and dumplings were all very tasty as well. I was a little disappointed with the hibachi. I ordered the chicken and shrimp hibachi and the chicken was a tad over cooked. The fried rice wasn't very good and the vegetables were just okay. I think I will stick to the sushi and appetizers going forward. read more

I'm not one to leave reviews, but this place has such great food. I definitely recommend it. All you can eat sushi for $18.99! The lunch prices are just as great. My husband and I are big time foodies, and although we're not picky we can admit when something is better than another even if they're both good. We have been to many different steak houses and tried various kinds of steaks. We tried the steak roll here and my husband said it's the best steak he's ever had. At a sushi place... yeah, it's that good.lol We tried it out of curiosity and cause we like to try new things. Definitely have to agree with him on this. Picky eaters even have a few options if the non-picky eater friends want to come dine here. They also have a bar. They just opened on 17 December 2020. The owners said they will be serving alcohol this coming week. Can't wait to try the sake options to pair with my sushi/sashimi. Oh yeah, their hand sanitizer smells like CANDY CANES! lol You probably don't think it relates to anything at all, but trust me it does. I hate it when restaurants have nasty smelling sanitizer, especially when you're bringing your hands near your face about to eat something amazing. It kills the vibe. However, this candy cane scent helped keep the focus on the actual food and enjoy it without being grossed out and/or distracted by a nasty scent. Wow Ooka sushi. I must say you are doing it right!!! When we saw your sign for all you can eat sushi I just assumed it was going to be buffet style but noooooo you are making it fresh to order and everyone knows fresh is best!!! It sure was fresh!!!! Now let's start with the service Jasmie was our server and she was amazing!!! She was on top of it!!! She was sweet, helpful, and very attentive!!! She never let our drinks get empty or sit with empty plates on the table!!! OOKA SHE IS A KEEPER!!! Now the food..... EVERYTHING we had was delicious but my favorite dishes was the tuna tartar was fabulous I could have sat and eaten that by the bowl full!!!! And the Ooka sushi OMG ONE OF MY FAVORITE SUSHI EVER!!! The mango sauce on it was sweet and mouth watering!!! Jasmie recommended that sauce on top of some ice cream and it was a definite must try!!!! If I want to go somewhere to get good quality all you can eat Japanese food this is the place. I usually go here if I want to feast. They have a great selection of starters and a good selection of sushi. It's all you can eat on the whole menu which catches some people by surprise. You don't have to order everything you want all at once you can order as you eat. They don't bring you huge portions of food which is a good thing to me because you don't want to fill up on one thing without experiencing the whole menu. The Sushi is really good probably one of my top 3 places in Dothan. The Hibachi is really great the steak is pretty tender and moist. Everything is made fresh to order. I honestly don't thing I've had anything bad so far in the menu. I highly recommend this place to anyone who comes to Dothan. read more
