Flaming Salmon Roll and Cherry Blossom Roll

I regularly dine in and get take out from Oishi. They have a great lunch special. But the real star of the show for me is the Flaming Salmon Roll. I've convinced strangers on the street looking at the menu deciding if they want to eat there to go and order that roll. Could not recommend it more, it's smoky and delicious. Service is always quick. Great place for lunch, dinner, or take out!

Such a great week night dinner date, here! The soup and salad were fabulous. The largest ginger salad that I've ever been served at a sushi restaurant, and the dressing was creamy and delicious! All of the sushi was fresh and the slices of sashimi were enough fish for two pieces at any other well rated sushi joint. The Sake was the most expensive addition to our tab, at $18 per carafe. Which is okay for now, but might lead us to try other spots in the winter months.

Wonderful service, date night ambiance and great food! We had the Tonkotsu Ramen, Cherry Blossom and Edameme, everything was great! We also ordered warm sake b/c it was such a rainy day - can't wait to come back!

We went to Oishi for my birthday because I couldn't decide between sushi or ramen, so I wanted both! It was our first visit and all of us really enjoyed. I ordered the spicy tonkotsu ramen, but with tofu instead of pork belly, as well as a summer roll. It was the perfect combo! The ramen was savory and filling, while the sushi was nice and refreshing. My husband got a few sushis/ngiris, and my brother and SIL enjoyed their selections too. I had enough ramen to take home and it reheated well. Service was quick and friendly, and it wasn't busy on the night we visited. The ambiance was nice as well: clean, open, and cozy at the same time with the low light.

Amazing place for sushi - crazy, but it is probably one of the top 10 places we have been. Not only is the sushi super quality, there is a great selection of unique rolls. The thing that sets Oishi apart though is the presentation. Way more than what you get at a normal sushi place. We were skeptical about sushi in Indy, SO GLAD we went for it. Check out how they present the food below. Awesome. Highly Recommend

Open from 11 am on, a perfect location for an impressive sushi and ramen date if you want seated quickly with no reservation :) They have several standalone 4 top tables and booths lining the windows where you can people watch along Mass Ave. Appetizers were perfectly cooked - deep-fried gyozas and crispy calamari with tangy sauce complement their sake and wine drink menu! The Nigori cloudy strawberry sake has a pretty big bite if you drink it straight so be sure to sip it to truly enjoy it! The Smoky Rocky Roll was so fun and DELICIOUS with cream cheese and perfect sauces with eel and fun sweet potato hair! We loved that they encourage you to build on to your roll with add-on veggies and flavorful sauces right on the plate :) we also got the pickle roll which was loosely rolled but nice texture and great for layering with the other veggies. The spicy tonkatsu ramen took the prize with powerful pork flavor and heat that hangs out a minute. Both the miso and tonkatsu ramen had a perfect broth density (and I'm picky about broth!) and good amount of veggies (corn, bamboo shoots, mushrooms, one full egg, etc..)

We were craving ramen after an afternoon Colts game so we decided to give Oishi a try. Restaurant is small, but nicely decorated. The staff was kind and efficient! We ended up not getting ramen as some of us don't eat pork and all the ramen had it in it unfortunately. We ended up getting a few different sushi options and they were all amazing! Especially the mango roll. We will be back just for the sushi!

Deciding to check this place out prior to seeing some Fringe Festival shows. It's decent sized (the old Aesop's Table/Pizzaology). They have a small sushi bar, which is where we opted to sit. They have your typical sushi items and the ramen looked good. We opted for sushi. We got 3 different rolls, all tasted fresh and delicious. They only have beer and wine. Service was decent. I thought it might be quite Ker sitting at the sushi bar, but it wasn't. Still, this is another nice sushi/ramen option for Mass Ave!

I heard there was a new ramen spot on Mass Ave and had to check it out. I ordered the gyoza(chicken), spicy tuna roll, and the Spicy Tonkotsu ramen bowl. Loved the gyoza as a quick starter - sometimes gyoza isn't very flavorful - this was! The spicy tuna roll was fat and fresh - perfect for splitting. I love ramen and judge a bowl by if i want to slurp the remaining broth - I did. The spicy wasn't overwhelming or detracting to the flavor. Definitely get the ramen! The space is great as it sits on a triangle corner. We were seated right away and the staff are very friendly and attentive.

My favorite ramen spot. The food is very flavorful & delicious. The service is pretty decent & attentive. The marinated eggs that come in the ramen are to die for!

Crispy V, Crunchy Roll, maguro nigiri (tuna)

This space is beautiful and clean, very inviting from the start. I ordered three kinds of sushi: Crispy V, Crunchy, maguro nigiri (tuna). I loved them all, plus tried a bowl of the miso ramen and really liked the savory flavors. The rolls were beautifully plated and tasted even better than they looked. Our server was helpful with questions, attentive, (thanks for the timely water refills and extra ginger!) and swift with our drinks and requests. I was pleasantly unaware of the server after we ordered, actually. I vaguely remember the days of service this good (pre-pandemic perhaps?) when you seamlessly had what you needed when you needed it and barely noticed how it arrived. I'll definitely be back.

Food was great and location is super cute! Only thing that it's missing in my opinion is a cocktail bar. They only serve wine and beer.

I had the kimchi ramen, and everyone else had the spicy ramen. We shared the chili garlic edamame and pan fried dumplings. The chili garlic edamame was SO GOOD and garlicky!! When we arrived, were here asked if we had a reservation which we didn't and the lady said she asked because they had many reservations for that time. We were seated in one of the upper pods which gave a nice elevated view of the entire restaurant. We ended up choosing different combos so we could try the different side dishes. Overall the food was great. We were served our dishes by different people and one guy was almost rude when he brought our ramen bowls. If I had to choose, I'd go to 86th Street as everything about the experience was top tier.

The staff, drinks, food, music and overall atmosphere are consistently exceptional. The cocktail menu is fantastic. My personal favorite is the painkiller - a delicious blend of coconut, rum, orange, pineapple, and nutmeg. It's served in a skull glass and tastes absolutely perfect. We came in on a Friday night at 6:30 with no reservation, and had to wait ~5 minutes for a table of two. We were sat at a high top at the bar, which we appreciated. Our server greeted us quickly, and checked in a few times throughout the night. Service was average, nothing spectacular but nothing to complain about. I had a hurricane to start off. Packed full of the good stuff, and one was definitely enough for the night. Appropriate price for what you get. This drink is what brought my review from a 2 for the food to a 3 in total. We started off with pork Bao buns. The bun was spongy, but somewhat dry. The pork lacked any sort of flavor, and the sauce on it didn't do much for me. The next part of the meal was the most disappointing for me: the curry chicken wings. Let me tell you- I was excited for these. These lacked any sort of flavor at all, and the only thing saving it was the ranch. The wings had a good crisp, but the sauce was lacking taste. I had the Shoyu ramen for my main. It was a pretty average bowl of ramen, but for the price, I expected more. The pork in it was flavorful, but the chicken in it was odd in my opinion with an unexpected herby flavor. Overall, service was average (but we appreciated getting sat fast), drinks were strong (and saved the meal) and the food was average. Would go if invited by a friend, but probably would not return on my own.
