It's on Mass Ave which is a popular mixtape- mix of happenings in Indy. We were greater promptly and were seated immediately. It was no else but us. We ordered spicy ramen with shrimp! It came out steaming! Now I'm a spice lover but I couldn't gulp the broth like I wanted because it spicy! Lol The shrimp were plump and juicy like I like em. Give me my mint worth, you know. The veggies were blended in nice. My boo wanted dessert but is. It a fan of mochi ice cream which is all the had on the menu. So we just had ramen this time, which is still a win. It hit the spot. I regularly dine in and get take out from Oishi. They have a great lunch special. But the real star of the show for me is the Flaming Salmon Roll. I've convinced strangers on the street looking at the menu deciding if they want to eat there to go and order that roll. Could not recommend it more, it's smoky and delicious. I am way overdue for a review here as it has been a while since I actually had the chance to visit here. The interior is very pretty with cherry blossoms and attractive lighting. Kind of gives the feel of a garden at night. Unfortunately our big group had to be seated in the rear with a lot less ambiance, but the food was still good. Since it was a cold dreary day, most in our group opted for a hot bowl of ramen rather than sushi. I had a big bowl of hot steaming ramen filled to the top. Such a great week night dinner date, here! The soup and salad were fabulous. The largest ginger salad that I've ever been served at a sushi restaurant, and the dressing was creamy and delicious! All of the sushi was fresh and the slices of sashimi were enough fish for two pieces at any other well rated sushi joint. The Sake was the most expensive addition to our tab, at $18 per carafe. We went to Oishi for my birthday because I couldn't decide between sushi or ramen, so I wanted both! It was our first visit and all of us really enjoyed. I ordered the spicy tonkotsu ramen, but with tofu instead of pork belly, as well as a summer roll. It was the perfect combo! The ramen was savory and filling, while the sushi was nice and refreshing. My husband got a few sushis/ngiris, and my brother and SIL enjoyed their selections too. I had enough ramen to take home and it reheated well. Open from 11 am on, a perfect location for an impressive sushi and ramen date if you want seated quickly with no reservation :) They have several standalone 4 top tables and booths lining the windows where you can people watch along Mass Ave. Appetizers were perfectly cooked - deep-fried gyozas and crispy calamari with tangy sauce complement their sake and wine drink menu! The Nigori cloudy strawberry sake has a pretty big bite if you drink it straight so be sure to sip it to truly enjoy it! The Smoky Rocky Roll was so fun and DELICIOUS with cream cheese and perfect sauces with eel and fun sweet potato hair! We loved that they encourage you to build on to your roll with add-on veggies and flavorful sauces right on the plate :) we also got the pickle roll which was loosely rolled but nice texture and great for layering with the other veggies. We were craving ramen after an afternoon Colts game so we decided to give Oishi a try. Restaurant is small, but nicely decorated. The staff was kind and efficient! We ended up not getting ramen as some of us don't eat pork and all the ramen had it in it unfortunately. We ended up getting a few different sushi options and they were all amazing! Not as salty as I'm used to with lots of seaweed & tofu bits. Really liked it better than the highly salted versions. Deciding to check this place out prior to seeing some Fringe Festival shows. It's decent sized (the old Aesop's Table/Pizzaology). They have a small sushi bar, which is where we opted to sit. They have your typical sushi items and the ramen looked good. We opted for sushi. We got 3 different rolls, all tasted fresh and delicious. They only have beer and wine. Service was decent. I loved them all, plus tried a bowl of the miso ramen and really liked the savory flavors. The rolls were beautifully plated and tasted even better than they looked. Our server was helpful with questions, attentive, (thanks for the timely water refills and extra ginger!) and swift with our drinks and requests. I was pleasantly unaware of the server after we ordered, actually. I vaguely remember the days of service this good (pre-pandemic perhaps?) when you seamlessly had what you needed when you needed it and barely noticed how it arrived. The inside is decorated with cherry tree blossom overhangs. This is a great weekday lunch place as service will be fast and friendly. Our group of 8 got food within 20 minutes of arrival. I ordered the tonkotsu ramen ($13 on lunch special) and it was pretty good, the main flavor profile is salty but I was hoping for a little bit more of a savory range of flavor as well, and others in my group had similar opinions with their ramen. They were all very tasty and reasonably priced. My favorite of the three were the spring rolls which were perfectly crispy and well flavored. Their ramen menu was limited, so we opted for sushi this time around. Their sushi options include features nigiri / sashimi, classic rolls, veggie rolls, and specialty rolls, so there are options for both those newer to the world of sushi and experienced fans. While I'm not a sushi expert, the menu clearly listed the ingredients in each roll which was helpful. The portions and pricing were comparable to other Indiana sushi restaurants. The plating of their sushi is beautiful with nice serving trays and garnishes. I really enjoyed all three of the rolls I tried - the Seattle Roll, Spicy Salmon Roll, and Tiger Roll. This location has been a multitude of restaurants and I've frequented the past 4 or 5. Oishi provides a different atmosphere than 45 degrees which isn't too far down the street. My friend and I bellied up at the bar so we could see the action while grabbing sushi and Saki. I loved my rolls and the presentation of all the food I saw going out was magical. It did not take long before our orders came out. The noodles in the ramen were al dente and the broth was flavorful. Their ramen is not bad at all but we felt like it could have been richer. We prefer the deeper and richer broth of our fave ramen place in Fishers. The spicy salmon roll was fresh and yummy. Overall, this was a positive experience. As for the ambience, seemed a little bit more upscale than your typical ramen place but not snooty. It's a spacious place that is nicely decorated. It is good to see places like this pop up in Indy - more diversity is always welcome. Now if they can just open up a Korean bbq and dim sum place in the area it would be perfect. We stopped by here for a late lunch on Sunday. Parking was relatively easy to find as well. The restaurant had a few customers and was about 30% occupied when we got there. We were seated fairly quickly. Our waiter was responsive and was happy to help answer questions. We weren't too hungry for appetizers so we went straight toward the main course and ordered 2 Spicy Miso Ramens with one of them having a substitute for the broth. We received our orders within 15-20 minutes. The quantity was not what I expected for the price paid; I expected a larger bowl and more noodles. The noodles were cooked well and the broth was quite flavorful. I was a little disappointed that the broth wasn't richer and that there was barely any spice. The soft-boiled eggs were nice, and I enjoyed the mushrooms and chashu as well. I finished my ramen and still being a little hungry, which is usually atypical for a ramen meal. We weren't able to try any sushi, which made me question if Oishi is more known for their sushi. If we're ever in the area again and consider Oishi, I'd be up to revisit and try their sushi! read more

They were very accommodating with turning on the Butler men's game so we could watch and the waitress was the perfect blend of being around for anything but not being too pushy or distant. Great service and great food at a good price. Stopped in for lunch and the first thing I noticed was they changed their Christmas tree into a valentine tree and I think it's so cute. Lol I started with spring rolls and endamame. The spring rolls were so flavorful and were piping hot when they came out. The endamame was hot and have a little sprinkle of sea salt. It could use a little more salt but they were good. I selected the mango roll (shrimp tempura topped with mango) and the tempura California roll. (2) the spicy miso ramen wasn't spicy, and was pretty salty. The meat wasn't the greatest, but it was soft. The noodles were a bit too undercooked for my liking.
