I had a very disappointing experience at Ojo Optique. I purchased my glasses there less than two years ago. This week, I brought them in for a simple adjustment. The glasses were in excellent condition when I arrived, and a staff member even commented on how well they had been cared for. During the adjustment, the store manager used pliers on the nose piece, and it broke off while in his hands. I was then told the nose piece is soldered to the frame, that it could not be repaired, and that I was essentially out of luck. No warning was given beforehand about any risk of breakage. And, no liability waiver was presented. No offer of assistance was provided. After contacting ownership, the only resolution offered was to replace the front piece at half price ($130). Since the damage occurred during an in-store adjustment, I expected the business to stand behind its work and replace the frame. I understand that accidents happen, but how a business responds matters. I was disappointed that full responsibility was not taken for damage that occurred while the glasses were in their care. This is a local shop with very high prices, they should provide better customer service! read more

On vacation I lost a screw to my glasses. I called ahead to make sure they would be open and that they do repairs. Matt was very helpful and was able to replace the screw in very little time, and even indulged me in looking at a couple frames. The shop is very nice, and has excellent and unique choices for a larger fit, and all the frames are small designer companies with very stylish designs. I will definitely be making an appointment on my next trip out! read more

Look, you're going to pay a lot, but that's not why you're here. You want high-quality and fashion forward glasses. I have an 8-year-old pair that has held up great, and I still get compliments on them! I'm greeted promptly, listened to, measured accurately, and I always feel pampered. Even though I was a traveler just passing through, the owner and staff of Ojo Optique were welcoming, sympathetic and so helpful. My eyeglasses had been maladjusted before I left on my trip and unfortunately were giving me a crushing pain behind my ears and a headache. Despite the fact that it was against store policy, when I went into Ojo asking for help the owner took pity on me and was able to adjust my glasses so I could wear them without getting a headache. Simply amazing! I have been tinkering with cheaper but quite stylish looking reading glasses for the last 4 years or so and they kept on breaking. Annoying to say the least and my better half found this gem of a place during our road trip through New Mexico. No appointment needed while we were in town and when Adam asked us for our favorite styles we gave him full reign. THAT was a very good decision as he clearly has a keen eye and can sense people's style and taste on the spot. Daring designs at first but definitely top shelf quality and made to last. I wanted to like this store as I found their glasses somewhat stylish. I was hoping for a better experience. But what I got was not ok. Got huge attitude...over what I don't know. The owner didn't ever apologize or try to make things right? I said nothing in response to the owner because he seemed to excacerbate the matter at hand and wanted to fight me. I gave them a chance to redeem themselves as some of the people there were really nice. If you enjoy customer service this is not your place. I found it to be quite toxic and expensive. I expect that the owners will bash me for this review as is the norm with all other customers on this platform rather than to take responsibility for their mistakes and ego driven behavior. Just because you do business in a small town does not give you the right to berate and disrespect your customers that do not fit your mold. read more

In perfect shape and a fast return and this is one of many reasons why they are my only choice eye business. If there were more than 5 stars, I would give it to Ojo Optique. These guys are the best! Top notch service and unbelievable selection of designer frames. Whatever lab they used for my lenses produced the best lenses I have ever had. I had progressive and transition in one pair and progressive and sunglasses tinting in the other. They nailed the tinting perfectly, and the progressive in both is THE BEST I've ever had. Easy reading! This place isn't cheap but the results are well worth it. read more

This eyewear boutique not only has the best selection of eyeglasses and frames in northern New Mexico, their staff are professional, knowledgable and friendly. The screws fell out of the temples of my old glasses and Adam was SO incredibly helpful in replacing the screws, adjusting the temples and bridge, and making sure the glasses fit perfectly. Honestly, these glasses (purchased a year ago in California) have never fit and functioned so well. I'll certainly be coming back here for my next set of glasses! read more

I'm not really sure what the difference is between trying on glasses and taking a picture, and just taking a picture of glasses. As somebody who has worked at a glasses shop, they were extremely rude to me. I can't say enough about the customer service at Ojo. I went in to see about getting my sunglasses repaired. They're my favorite and had an issue with the arm repeatedly falling off. Well, they fixed that (so far so good ~2 months later), cleaned them and adjusted them free of charge. THEN they asked if I had eyeglasses I'd like adjusted. Umm... YES?! They then cleaned and adjusted my prescription lenses free of charge. I purchased a handmade in France felt case to protect my revived sunnies in appreciation. Now each time I see the colorful case in my bag, I'm reminded of this stellar experience. Highly recommend these guys!! read more

Extremely friendly people, extremely cool glasses. These are like...the sports cars of glasses- both regular glasses and sunglasses. Not inexpensive, but the quality and selection of the glasses, and the care and kindness of the people, make it very much worth it. Great place to buy a souvenir of a trip that'll your wear on your actual face every day. :) There were also a couple of sweet friendly dogs in the shop. I know this is weird, but Ojo carries a great selection of unique frames and are very knowledgable about finding the right style and fit for you. Be aware that of accepting vision insurance is important, they don't participate. Out of network reimbursement should be an option though. read more

They have a nice selection, but really expensive. The lenses are not top of the line, as the price would make you expect. A previous pair I bought were never that sharp and scratched easily. The two expensive new frames I ordered had the totally wrong prescription, could not see through them at all. I've worn glasses for 40 years and this was a first. I was in town from Los Angeles and happened to walk by Ojo Optique. I was not looking for glasses but was intrigued by what I saw in the window, went in and was greeted by two of the most wonderful and helpful gentlemen. Both turned out to be 2 of the 3 owners. Adam and Chris. They spent over 2 hours with me looking for sun and reading glasses and I ended up purchasing 3 pair. They were knowledgeable, patient and really objective about what I looked and did not look good in. I needed their opinion and they gave it candidly. What a FANTASTIC experience. Wow do these guys know their glasses!!! They have an incredibly unique and selective inventory. The owners are always there and work hard to find a pair of frames that look fabulous on everyone. They are able to get prescriptions back in record time and are always available for adjustments. Excellent service and the best fitting glasses I've ever owned with great lens quality. I have acetate frames and lightweight lenses. These do not slip off my face and do not leave pressure points on the bridge of my nose, despite my prescription. Just went back to find glasses for my husband and there were many nice options available. The owners and staff took time showing him frames from many different manufacturers. Finally went with some durable german made frames suitable for my husbands active lifestyle, but really there were many great looking options. Buying new eyeglasses at Ojo was a wonderful experience. Scot and Molly were patient and helped guide me towards frames that really looked good on me, and the selection is huge. But, even better than feeling great about the fashion of new, hip eyewear was how much improved my vision is with the new glasses! It's like I had some sort of personal "Helen Keller Moment." haha. Purchased stellar MATSUDA frames for my daily wear, and ANDY WOLF for my prescription sun glasses. The entire staff and one of two owners [present] spent a great deal of time explaining lens and tint options and deciding precise measurements for my progressive lens. I have worn both pairs regularly for several weeks now and my satisfaction level continues to be exemplary.
