We were visiting from Virginia and walked in to look at frames and to purchase, as I saw some great looking frames in the window. The staff was uptight and not friendly; they treated us like their establishment was not a place for us. When we asked to see one particular set of frames, they told us they were "725," and then corrected themselves to make sure we knew they were "seven HUNDRED and twenty-five dollars." We were not made to feel welcome or wanted. Perhaps because we were dressed in t-shirts and shorts, they assumed we were not good enough for their high-end glasses. We are also gay, and had heard that they were very gay friendly and employed a number of gay staff, so we were excited to support such a business. We were greatly disappointed. Sorry, guys. My best-selling author of a wife (who you're lucky doesn't do freelance business reviews anymore) and I won't ever come back in your store. I routinely buy Cartier at $3000 to $5000 a frame. my husband was in Santa Fe for work and needed to replace his Rx glasses so he popped into Ojo to pick out a new pair of frames. We both wear Rx glasses and have several from Morgenthal Frederics in NY, as well as other frames from boutiques in LA, where we are from, so we thought Ojo would be a shoe in to replace the frames my husband brought while filming. My husband had chosen a few options, while he waiting for someone to help him, when I opened the front door of Ojo to ask my husband for the car keys to get something for our 7 month old son and literally only said, "I need the car keys babe" and one of the owners of Ojo came running at me, screaming, no exaggeration, screaming, "in or out" as his dog came running to the door to greet us. I immediately replied, "oh we are out" and we proceeded to leave and ask at the corner art gallery of another optical place and they told us to look at the optical shop of Aspen. We found that the optical shop of Aspen was not only incredibly helpful, had a better selection and better prices, but they rushed the Rx order as well as giving us a 20% discount since we ended up purchasing a couple of pairs of Rx glasses, one for everyday and a pair of sunglasses. The staff was very attentive to our needs and offered our children cold bottles of water and spoke to them like human beings. We travel so much for work and hadn't experienced anything as pretentious or rude as we had at Ojo. I wanted to tell the owner of Ojo, "you sell glasses, keep it in perspective, having your dog off leash in a store is your prerogative but as a dog owner myself and a parent, pick your priority, is it a pet store or an optical place?" read more

LOVED my experience at Ojo Optique with Shar!!!!! Earlier in the day at another optical shop, I was pointed to the women's section, filled with nice pretty glasses - but not for me.... So I went to Ojo Optique. Shar and her peers pulled out a great collection of artful eyeglasses that fit my personality and creativity - so many great choices it was hard to narrow down! I have never bought glasses that I'm completely happy with but I have always picked them out. This time I decided I need to make a change. Scot approached me at Ojo and I told him I wanted him to select my glasses and give me the hard truth if I liked them and he did not. I figured the sales associates deal with finding the right glasses for different faces and decided to let him to do what he does best. Well, for the first time ever I am so happy with my glasses. The are classic with a modern twist and look great. I have not put on a pair of contacts since receiving them. Bought two pair of "showstopper" frames from Ojo while in Santa Fe taking a workshop at Santa Fe Clay. I wasn't looking for glasses but passed by the store each day when returning to my little hotel around the corner and was intrigued by their windows. So glad I did!
