Walking to pick up lunch one day, I passed Sodini dental on Oakton, and knowing that I needed to get back to the dentist and looked up their reviews to see if this would be a good place to maybe try and become a new patient. I slid down a slippery slope through Covid and since, after moving away from my previous dentist and some extensive and ongoing health issues impacted my life. I called and was able to make an appointment for a couple months out - I was pleasantly surprised that they were taking new patients and that I didn't have to wait that long in the scheme of dr's offices for a new patient appointment. They do send text reminders as well which I appreciated. Doré at the front provided my new patient paperwork and checked me in. She was nice and efficient. Therese was my hygienist and I am so grateful and lucky that she got my appointment. I was transparent and disclosed it had been almost 7 years since my last dental appointment. I had been diagnosed with several conditions that are ongoing that have impacted my entire life tremendously, and paired with Covid and moving, time passed so quickly until we were here. Therese was patient and kind and made me feel incredibly heard. I know many people (myself included) who have anxiety build as time passes fearing judgment from dentists when we finally do make it in, and I need to stress so clearly here that Therese was so understanding, empathetic, and validating, especially with consideration to my ongoing health struggles. I was immediately so relieved and relaxed to continue with the visit AND ongoing dental care. We did a whole slew of x-rays since it had been so long since my last, and we also decided periodontal scalings were appropriate for cleaning my teeth and getting me back on track as well. Therese was communicative and gentle throughout the entire appointment and stressed my comfort over and over. We did split the scalings into two appointments, and I came back a week later for the second half of the cleaning. They made sure to book me with Therese at my request. I cannot articulate clearly enough how much the staff here made sure I was comfortable through my appointments. Unheard of in my previous dental office experiences. Dr. Sam saw me for my exam and she is incredibly kind, my experience with her was also very positive. I'm so grateful to have accidentally found an office with so much empathy and kindness in addition to professionalism, efficient administrative staff, and a very clean office. I know Sodini Dental has been a part of the community for a long time, and I selfishly hope they continue to be so. My insurance is out of network with the office, and I knew this going in to my appointment, and agreed to out of network costs. Out of network costs are generally not cheap, this was no exception, however billing and payment were both easy and transparent. We set up my next appointments for this year before I left from my second visit, and I was able to pay my balance without issue. Thank you Sodini Dental for a great and easy experience!

Although I live in Hyde Park, it has been worth the 40-minute drive to travel to his office. I was referred to Dr. Chen after having had some bad expeiences with local dental offices. Not only is Dr. Chen honest, but he has proven to be the most competent and affordable dental professional I have relied on since moving to Chicago from my old home in New York City some forty years ago. I highly recommend him and his friendly, capable staff.

None of my previous dentists ever mentioned this. 2. Didn't fully remove one of them causing multiple infections and extreme pain. And I still do not have feeling in part of my lip months later. 3. Went in due to problems and they basically forced me to do another procedure on the spot with local anesthetic and said I had to pay another $900 for it! On top of all that, the office manager, Nineva, was very dismissive and unempathetic. I wouldn't wish the past month of nightmares and pain on my worst enemy. The worst thing is I feel like all of this was probably avoidable. On the bright side, one of the dentists there, Jason Brenner, was very nice and did what he could for me. The oral surgeon was also professional in attitude, though I'm wary of his skills.

I brought my four kids here and they are great with children . My kids actually prefer this dentist to the kid one they used to go to that had iPads and play structures , so that says a lot . I like that they take my insurance and don't expect prepayment, they deal w insurance first . She spent the time to show me the x-rays and detailed her areas of concern. A week after my cleaning, a crown installed by my previous dentist broke off while eating a sandwich. I called kiss dental and less than 60 minutes after it becoming dislodged it was reinstalled. They took me on very short notice, and addressed the issue right away. This was literally 30 minutes before they closed on a Friday! I was very impressed at them taking me in so quickly. Additionally, both the hygienist and dentist are very nice. They make good conversation and seem like very skilled professionals.

Dr. Singh walks me through exactly what she is doing and why it is important, really taking the time to educate me about my dental health. She constantly monitors for pain and discomfort and makes me feel at ease. The Dental Hygienists and Assistants are also fabulous (shout out to Meggen, Tanya and Laura!) and the front desk staff is very friendly and nice. I am a 3rd generation patient at Northshore Dental Partners, and I highly recommend it.

I honestly look forward to going to the dentist, even for a big procedure. Dr. Montoya is so gentle, I never feel any pain. He makes sure you are completely comfortable in advance, explaining every aspect to you, and making sure you have all the info you need when you go home. He's an expert in the latest technology, so procedures that might have been difficult in the past are a breeze. Though this was a 90-minute experience, it seemed to pass by in a moment. His hygienists are great too. If ever I moved to a new address, even if it was inconvenient, I would come back to Dr. Montoya for my dentistry.

Dr. Stein was unresponsive and unhelpful when I told him I was in pain after work he had done. He…read moretold me I was not in pain and that he would not adjust his work. He had created a crown in his office for my lower molar. That crown had a sharp edge on the inside face which was very painful for my tongue. I told him about this for nearly 3 years and asked him to help. When I finally insisted that he had to either remove the sharp burr or replace the crown he simply stood there and waited for me to leave. I'm a doctor working in the same office building we were in for over 5 years and had referred patients to Dr Stein. I no longer refer patients to him. I see his behavior as a clear breach of medical ethics.

After that, I got a recommendation from a friend (whose father and father-in-law were both dentists) to check out Dr. Dave McWhinnie at Smiles of Skokie. I am so glad that I went here. The office staff and hygienists were all super friendly. After visiting way too many sketchy dentist offices in strip malls around Chicago, their office and facilities were a breath of fresh air. New equipment, bright exam rooms and nice decorations. Dr. Dave is incredibly friendly, knowledgeable and really does talk you through each step of the exam and appointment. He wants to make sure you don't feel any pain at all. I had one dentist who attempted to numb me with anesthetic 3 different times, and I could still feel the drill. Dr. Dave did it once and I was good and numb in no time - didn't feel a thing. Finding a dentist you like and trust is incredibly difficult, I think. But I can assure you that if you go and check out Dr. Dave at Smiles of Skokie - your search will be over. Hope your experience is as good as mine was.
