You know a place is good when theres a long line outside when its pouring out. My friends and I stopped by for some snacks after eating at some of the other trucks. We ordered the garlic butter steak platter, a hot dog, and Kalua pork. The steak platter was so good we went back and ordered another one. Perfectly cooked at medium rare and packed with plenty of garlic. The pork was slowly cooked just right. The Hawaiian sea salt and smokiness added plenty of flavor. You get a nice side salad and rice with furikake. Prices are reasonable, but do expect a little wait here. Its best to order here and walk around to some of the other trucks to sample their food or grab a table.

As soon as I saw this food truck offered bubble tea I knew I had to try some! They offer both milk tea and plain in various flavors (White, green, matcha, pineapple are ones I remember). The only mix in right now is boba which is an extra $.50. I asked the cashier what her favorite tea was, she replied the moon tea which is a white tea. I couldn't decide so I got her recommendation, adding boba. The tea was very refreshing and the boba plentiful. I appreciated that it comes unsweetened unless you request it to be more sugary. For me the tea was good enough on its own that it didn't need any additional sweeteners.

If you're from California, you've probably had better milk tea. Moon milk tea with medium sweetness (about 50% sweet) was super watery and didn't taste like tea. The milk or creamer was the only thing I could taste. Beware of all the flies and chickens ... not a good place to chill and hang out. It's located next to the Giovanni's shrimp truck.

Delicious and refreshing. It's located right next to the ever so popular and crowded Giovanni's Shrimp Truck. They got milk tea, iced teas of all kinds (green, white, black) lemonades, acai bowls, coffee, smoothies and poke bowls. You can choose your drink lightly, medium or really sweet. I got the white milk tea and it was really good! Cold and refreshing. Perfect in this humidity. $4.00....one size and cash only.

Got a sunset sandwich, and there was like no cheese and two slices of turkey and there wasn't even any tomatoes. Tasted like bread and pesto. Majority of my plate was potato chips. smoothie was already separated by the time I got it. The whole meal was underwhelming. The workers are nice but the food could use be better especially if people are coming to support your small business as a food truck.

I took a drive out to Haleiwa because let's face it, being in quarantine is a bit like being in prison (not that I know what being in prison is like). With all restaurants, beaches, parks, gyms, and most venues closed, it's a bit boring to stay at home all day. My son and I very much enjoyed the drive out there, the traffic was light and not crazy bumper to bumper traffic as usual. I enjoy going out to the shrimp truck, but my son hates shrimp, so..... luckily there are other alternatives besides the shrimp truck. We were very surprised to see only 5 cars in this always crowded parking lot. I was the only person in the line at the shrimp truck, and my son was the only person in line at Okina Cafe, which is located to the left of the shrimp truck. Okina Cafe is a truck that offers Mexican dishes as well as sandwiches. My son ordered chicken tacos, which came with rice and choice of beans or salad. The tacos were soft flour tortillas filled with lots of shredded chicken, onions, cheese, and salsa. He enjoyed them very much. A lot of the other trucks were closed, and as I talked to some of the workers there, they said that very few people came by and they were really hurting for business. If you can, please take a drive down to Haleiwa and support the local businesses. I'd be so sad to see businesses closed forever because people won't venture out of their homes. Wear a mask, use hand sanitizer, and stay away from other people, but please support our local businesses and economy.

We didn't come specifically for Okina Cafe, the BF wanted the famous Giovani's Shrimp Truck but I'm not a fan of seafood, Okina Cafe looked really good and was one of the only trucks in this little lot that had food other than just seafood. At first the line was non-existent but once my BF got about 20 people from the front of his line Okina Cafe had about ten people in line, still not a ton of people but more than zero. Even though the line was pretty long compared to when we got there, it moved pretty quickly. I got the Bucket-A-Bacon burger and it didn't disappoint! The burger was huge! Two patties, cheese, lettuce, tomato, mayo, ketchup and mustard. This was definitely a two-handed burger and even with my BF's help I wasn't able to finish it completely. I opted to grab a drink at another truck as they were the only place with seating at the moment. I'll definitely try a smoothie the next time as everything on the menu sounded really good. The only issue I had was quite a few people that ordered after me got their food before I got mine, I had to ask for mine and it was all of the sudden ready. The staff was nice and apologized for the delay. I would definitely recommend you give Okina Cafe a shot, I know I'll try it again!

YUM!!! This place is cute, clean and simple. Must must must try! Our smoothie was soooo good and they were very fair priced. We sucked that smoothie down fast! It was too good. Super convenient location next to Giovanni's Shrimp Truck, when I visited back in January of 2018. We stopped by here after our delicious shrimp lunch. The kona mocha frappe was so refreshing, especially on that hot day. I thought the drink was sweet, but then again, I think everything is sweet. My friend who is a giant sweet tooth loved it though.

This food truck was great. The service was a bit slow and hard to hear when they call out the names but the tacos I got were tasty. The salad with the tacos did not make much sense. It would be better with rice and beans but it still worked.

Poke bowl from a truck you expect less then perfection but what they served up, even though portion was not huge taste was perfection. If you don't like spicy don't order here!! Freshly made it tasted the part, fish was not slimy, the sauce and taste of mixed wasabi was heavenly, definitely a must try when in the court of food trucks in the area, they do offer boba drinks also, they add boba to any drink even if it is not meant to have boba they do ask if you would like the sweetness to be very, mid or nil! Again definitely a must try when in the court of shrimp trucks, big recommendation from me and I rarely eat fish that kinda says a lot Pokebowl ***** wow must try Service **** Price $$ Ambiance *** avoid during peak hours "lunch time", picnic chairs offered from the other trucks, since the area is well shades due to the trees it is not super hot to enjoy the meal there!

Came here after eating shrimp from Giovanni's. I'm just in love with acai bowls and smoothies so I try to try it to find my fav acai bowl hoping I find a new one every time I try a bowl lol Id say the acai bowl was average they don't make it with ice so the texture was really smooth. My bowl did take long to make but I think it's cause the girl was decorating it. Let's decorate quickly next time please? My family and I ABSOLUTELY LOVED THIS PLACE! being next to a very well known and in my personal opinion overly hyped food truck, it doesn't get the attention it deserves. The steak quesadilla and the kalua pork sliders were a solid 10/10!! If you haven't tried it, you definitely should give it a shot! read more

I was getting ice from snow factory next door so thought I would give it a try. Had the poke. It was fresh but nothing special about the flavor. Also the portions were really small. I would skip this and just go to foodland farms and get their poke bowl. read more

Checked this place out while waiting for our shrimp. They have bubble tea and frappes along with food such as poke bowls. We got one of the popular flavored frappes according to the girl working (I forget the name). It was really good and if you check in on Yelp you get 10% off. read more

Hipster looking food truck with the typical blackboard menu. My review is solely limited to the one item I tried and the customer service. I got the Açaí Bowl. Unfortunately they don't have options and neither do they have my favored Cacao Nibs, but all that aside it was delicious. Bananas, Strawberries, frozen blueberries granola and honey coated the top. Underneath lied the smoothie blend with a pleasant consistency. The girls who worked the register were curt, and weren't very talkative. Fortunately the wait wasn't too long, but waiting proved to be painful due to the manure wafting through the air and the flies buzzing every which way. The Açaí Bowl was also a bit pricey at $10. All in all the flavor of the item overcame the unpleasantness of the service and smell. Would come again to try the Boba, and coffee. read more

What a pleasant experience! All of the workers here are super polite and nice. They have a lot of tea options that you don't usually see such as moon tea, plantation (pineapple) tea, yunan, and blueberry roobios. Best part of it all is that you can control the amount of sweetener added to your drink. Light and medium sweet are not really sweet at all. read more

New truck that just opened up next to giovanni's in haleiwa a month ago. Super friendly staff that takes the time to make sure you are happy with your selection. They give samples, help make selections, and will customize any and every thing to your preference. You can also add boba to any of the drinks. It goes great with and after garlicky shrimp. :) read more

Friendly staff & really good drinks! Haven't tried their poke or acai bowls but I always get their fruity lemonade medium sweet ($5) My nephew got the butter butter smoothie ($6) No tax :) which is why I guess they're a little pricey. But they are organic and fresh (never frozen) So it's worth it! There's no sign with the name of the business on the truck the name was only on the cup, I wish I knew the name before hand so I could use the 10% off Yelp offers here Drinks do take a little long to come out but I figure since it's a small truck. The workers don't seems to be rushing to be taking orders or making drinks either, had to wait about 15 minutes for both the smoothie & lemonade to be ready with only two other customers waiting. read more

Brand new addition to Haleiwa and what a welcome one! Just had the blueberry tea lemonade and it was absolutely FANTASTIC!! My mouth was burning from spicy shrimp and the day was getting a bit hot. All of a sudden, my husband bought this incredibly delicious and wonderfully cool drink and voila ... It was PERFECT!!! If you ever stop at the shrimp lot (or are visiting the North Shore), treat yourself to these wonderful drinks ... I know that Ill be coming here often to refresh myself on hot summer days ... and other days as well! read more

I finally had a day off to relax, so my boyfriend and I went to explore North Shore. On our way to visit a friend, she had asked us to pick up some Giovanni's shrimp for her. There, in a lot full of food trucks, was where I discovered Okina Cafe. I scoped out the cute little truck that was next to Giovannis. I looked it up on yelp and had discovered that I had actually bookmarked it beforehand. :) After looking through the reviews and pictures, I decided to get a drink. The line for Okina cafe was short and fast. They were very courteous and friendly with each order. I was also able to use my 10% off check in order ^__^ Yay! I was also pleasantly surprised that they took card. After debating between the Haleiwa or the Moon White Tea, I decided to go for the Haleiwa since you yelpers had made the drink look delicious ^_^ Its a smoothie that had Strawberries, peaches, mango and pineapple. I didnt add the boba in, but i guess ill just try that next time. They cranked out the orders pretty quick; I think I only waited 5 minutes or so. I eagerly unwrapped my straw and dove in. Unfortunately, I was kind of...underwhelmed. :T It was alright. I think the pineapple took over most of the taste...which was sad, because i REALLY love strawberries, mangoes and peaches -_____-. Pros: -Made from fresh fruits. Ill need to try their poke and acai bowl next time. Also, when ordering lemonade, they ask you what level of sweetness you want (small, medium sweet, or sweet) -Quick service -Friendly -Decent prices; theres 10% off your order with a check in! Blehhhh: -Parking; it was really crowded -___- But we got lucky and were able to find parking within 5 minutes. Just watch out; we almost got hit! :T It can get kind of tight. -Taste: I hope my underwhelming drink was just a fluke. But Ive had better. Ill need to go back and try that tea! I love accidentally coming across boba!! I got yunan milk tea, which is black milk tea. (Moon is white tea) The drink was alright, nothing bad but nothing to rave about and the honey boba is nice n chewy. Fast service, I'd return if I were in the area. read more

Quick and friendly service with a smile! Got the white tea lemonade to wash down my Giovanni's shrimp meal. Was really refreshing on a hot day, definitely quenched my thirst. Wasn't too sweet, some may think a little watered down, but I like my beverages lightly sweetened, so this was more to my liking which was good. Would definitely want to go back and try their other drinks! read more

I went today and they were out of boba! Ah. That was the whole reason why I was going to come here. :( i still wanted a drink though, so I got the sunset tea. It was okay, but would have probably been better with boba in it. It's awesome that they let you try your drink before they serve it to make sure it's sweet enough! I liked that a lot. The service was really friendly. I also like that they serve fair trade and organic foods. read more

Barista is so sweet! Also very helpful when it came to suggesting what drink I sound get. Very large selection of drinks plus they offer fresh ahi poke bowls and acai bowls. I would def recommend this place when you're in the area buying lunch from one of the many trucks. read more

Hidden gem located right next to Giovanni's shrimp truck! Staff was super nice and you can't go wrong with any of the drinks. I first got the power surf, which is banana, blueberry and açaí. Soooooo good, tastes like real fruit and right amount of sweet. I went back to order the Kona Mocha with boba, and was also very good. My group said it was super rich and yummy. Definitely give them a try! They also take card :) read more

The drinks here are fantastic can add boba for $.50. They sell fresh coconuts and acai and poke bowls. After you drink the fresh coconut you bring it back for them to cut open then you can eat the fresh coconut meat. The acai bowl taste fresh and refreshing. The poke bowl was just alright to me but I'm also very picky on my fish. The ice tea lemonade is amazingly fresh! read more

This was one of the worst milk teas I have ever had in my life. I got the Yunan milk tea with boba today. The truck was so cute that I was excited to try their milk tea, but it tasted way too watered down. The boba itself was fine though, a good consistency--nice and chewy. The Asian lady who took my order could also have been more patient with my questions. Need more aloha spirit! read more

Perfect end to a long day at North Shore! My boyfriend and I stopped here on our way back to Waikiki after a log day at the beach. We wanted something light and refreshing on our way home and this place hit the spot. I wasn't really familiar with much and I'm super picky, but the workers let me try several different drinks before finally settling on the Sunset Smoothie, which was awesome! Stopped by here for some tea since I was in the Haleiwa area. It's a nice little food truck located amongst a handful of other food trucks. The poke bowls looked interesting, but I didn't try any of them. I was excited to try their tea. I got to try the Plantation Iced Tea and the Lemonade white tea. I kind of thought both drinks were on the average side. While their teas were more on the tea side and less on the sugary side, they were steeped pretty weak. The lemonade tea was pretty weak on the lemonade. It didn't really taste as lemony or fresh as I had hoped. It was still refreshing. The plantation iced tea seemed like it was made with canned pineapple going by how the chunks were cut inside of the drink. The drinks here run around $4-$5. I felt that they were somewhat pricey for what you got. The quality of tea seemed great here, but it just wasn't potent enough for me. read more

We got the boba milk tea and acai bowl. It was about average. A nice dessert after eating the absolutely delicious garlic shrimps at Giovanni's. Really expensive though...Oahu's boba seems to run over $5 on the regular and the acai bowl was like $15 or so. read more

I came for lunch at a shrimp truck next door and couldn't resist the drinks coming out of this cafe truck. The gentleman at the window was super friendly and offered me samples of a smoothie and a white tea lemonade. Honestly you can't go wrong with anything on the menu. My sunset tea smoothie was made to order with white tea and light on the sweetness. I hold back on a fifth star because the service was slow and they sell out of their most popular items later in the day. Overall, this is a fantastic place to get refreshing smoothies and teas. I would definitely recommend checking it out. read more

[copied/pasted from my review on the Giovanni's Yelp page as the parking lot attendant appears to work for several different food trucks that share one parking lot] This might be my first review ever- I am more of a Yelp lurker. I've had experiences with poor customer service before and never felt compelled to write about it until today when I came face to face with the parking lot attendant guy at Giovanni's. I usually just chalk up experiences with poor customer service to someone having a bad day. But this guy's cruelty hit me in an unexplainable way, so I Google'd the truck and specifically looked up "parking lot attendant." After reading multiple reviews of people with similar stories, it is clear that this is a pattern. I pulled into the parking lot and there were several cars in front of me waiting. After about 5 minutes of not moving, I decided to reverse out of the lot and look for street parking since I was last in line with the butt of my car close to poking into the road already. As I started reversing, the parking guy yells at me to stop, saying he put cones behind me and that I would smash the cones. He was really pissed which I didn't understand. I had pulled in 5 mins earlier and there was no cone then, so how was I supposed to know there were cones now? He audibly stated "fcking stupid" as he walked away, while looking at me. A few minutes later he guides me into a spot. Before I could get out of my car, he comes over to the car to YELL at me for the SAME THING AGAIN! He yelled that I shouldn't have tried to reverse into the road and asked if I wanted to be "86'd" (his words). I apologized and said I just didn't know if the line was moving. He stated that I almost ran over the cones he just put behind me. I then stated that I had no idea he had put them there, hadn't seen him walk behind my car, and even if I did, it's not crazy to think I didn't stare at him to watch what he was doing. He became enraged and then said, "you know what, start up your car and get out!" Which I then did. Moments later at Waimea Bay, the lifeguards on their bullhorns were so polite, directing the people on the beach to beware of the waves. You know, a situation where lives are potentially at risk, and not, IDK, a parking lot? It was a stark contrast. I am a local and was very alarmed to be treated this way by someone grossly abusing their power. Parking lot guy should get trained by the lifeguards in how to communicate with others. I was going to describe him as the parking lot attendant in the orange vest but I later drove by and saw someone else in an orange vest, so hopefully describing him as the person working 2/8/19 around 2 pm will narrow it down. He also had poor dentition. Just unbelievably intimidating and downright mean. Left me dismayed and at a loss for words. No aloha spirit whatsoever. Cannot speak to the food at Giovanni but went elsewhere nearby with ample parking, and had delicious shrimp plate. read more
