That whole area is good to just wander around and explore and the menu had cheeseburgers which really helps with my picky ass sons that don't like to try adult food. Fresh mahi, good breading, and inexpensive prices set up my fish and chips for success, but tartar sauce and ketchup packets were a big letdown. We walked right up to this food truck for dinner with no wait on a rainy day, and it was worth it! First, they have plenty of good options to choose from when it comes to seafood, but their reputation as one of the best food trucks in town isn't in vain based on the two half-portion grilled mahi plates that we ordered. (We love that they offer half-portions so that you can enjoy a meal when you don't want something huge.) Although they were reduced-size portions, they offered plenty of food, and the fish was incredibly fresh and delicious. Even the rice was awesome. Second, they are open late, which is a plus! Service was friendly, and the food came out reasonably quickly--as quickly as you'd want it to come out if it's being made well. We took ours to go due to the intermittent rain, but there are a few outdoor tables if you want to sit and eat there. The parking out front is for customers, so don't be afraid to park there. From a distance, the signs look like they are prohibiting you from parking there, but that's not the case once you get close enough to read them. :) Definitely give this place a try if you want fresh seafood while in town! read more

Hands down one of the best seafood meals I've ever had! I ordered the combo with mahi and beer-battered crispy shrimp, and asked if they could substitute the fried fish for grilled instead. They were happy to accommodate, and the fish came out grilled to perfection--charred just right on the outside and juicy in the middle. The plate also came with their homemade chili and aioli sauce, which was absolutely amazing--creamy, tangy, and packed with flavor. Even the side salad of mixed greens was fresh and a nice balance to the seafood. I prefer more items on the salad like tomatoes, cucumber or shredded carrots. The service was just as good as the food. The front desk lady who took my order was communicative, attentive, and had such a great attitude. She even checked with the chef to make sure my substitution was possible. Got lunch here in the middle of a Circle Island tour. It's a food truck with several picnic tables for seating on the west end of the main Haleiwa drag. This one is off the charts in terms of value for money. I got a nice piece of very well-seasoned mahi with a generous portion of rice and a side of local greens with dressing. All that with a Diet Pepsi plus tax and tip came to $15.01! Tremendous bargain. Out of site! We drove an hour to eat here due to Shrimp Shack was closed. They had so nice reviews. Due to the drive from downtown we had to go to the bathroom. We drove by Haleiwa Seafood & noticed their clean looking business with curbside appeal & plenty of outdoor seating. They had good reviews on Yelp so this is where we landed. Great decision! For it being the end of the day, the 2 guys taking & filling orders were so cheerful, enthusiastic and efficient! Hubby chose the Plate Lunch Combo with Grilled Ahi & Beef Ribeye, the BEST macaroni salad on the island & rice. I ordered the Seafood Combo with Beer Battered Shrimp & Coconut Crusted Mahi (well worth the xtra buck!) & fries. Everything was so delicious! A low-key hidden gem. I was really impressed by the quality of food I got for the price ($17) for an ahi katsu and ribeye combo plate which could've easily been priced over $20. The ahi did not taste fishy and was super crunchy with a flavorful sauce. Ribeye was cooked perfectly to medium rare and was seasoned well. We also got a side of fries that were good, and had a nice seasoning but a little salty. There's parking right in front of the food truck area next to crispy grindz and a shrimp truck, but Haleiwa Seafood is probably the best option of the three. There's also a lot of picnic benches in front to sit and enjoy. We came a little after 1pm so I'm not sure if we missed a lunch rush but there was nobody else really ordering at that time. I never had a problem with this place, this is the first time ever! We ordered 2 coconut shrimp/ribeye combo plate & 1 ribeye combo plate (all cooked medium RARE). Picked up my order, opened the plates & see 4 pcs of OVERCOOKED THIN steak in my combo plates. The Ribeye steak plate was also overcooked, was chopped up into tiny pieces and spread apart. Called and spoke to Elijah and Dewayne (cook per Elijah), kept asking questions and "figuring out" what's wrong with my plate after I told him how the steak was 4-5pcs of 1/2"-1" cut steaks. Elijah then kept saying "maybe bc we were running out of steak" like if that's the case, call me and lmk instead of letting it slide! Then he says "maybe we put the extra pcs of steak in the other plate" & I said "but why is that?! Why would u do that in GENERAL?" & he says "idk im not the cook" like wtf!! $20 for the combo plate now, not worth what we got!
