I went on another trip and it happened again, thrown fluid and code. I took it to the Edmond dealership and the code registered overfilled. They even said it took more fluid than they thought it should. I'm sure by the other reviews they are able to do brake jobs and change oil..but in my opinion you better hope things work out. After an acquaintance suggested Edmond Discount Transmission, I trailered the car there... The owner was super friendly, and helped me unload the car from the trailer -- he even put away all the straps and chains while I drove the car off the trailer! I didn't ask him to do that! What a super cool dude! Within 24 hours, he had diagnosed the problem, fixed it, test drove the car, and returned it to me -- AT NO CHARGE!!! I was flabbergasted! No charge?! From a transmission repair shop?! Are you kidding me?! I insisted on paying him a little something for his time and expertise. I drove the car home that day -- in rush hour traffic and it worked great! What a deal! I highly recommend this shop!

Blew the oil filter cap / oil cooler on my 2015 Jeep (common issue), and went in to have that replaced, AND threw in a 100k mile service - since they were gonna be in that part of the engine anyway. Pros: - Mechanic was super fast and super friendly. Was able to do the entire job in about three working hours, when several YouTube mechanics suggested it would be about ten hours. AWESOME!!! - Price per-hour for labor was about HALF of what the mechanics at other places charge. AWESOME!!! - Place was easy to find, had a waiting area with a Sasquatch statue, and had a McDonalds next door if you got hungry while waiting. Cons: - The receptionist / admin clerk is super friendly; but was not technical enough to understand the work I wanted done, what parts and labor that work included, and how to accurately reflect all of that on my invoice (there were a few mistakes). This is common in many non-dealership garages. Dealerships I have been to tend to have a mechanic who can discuss the mechanical shenanigans with you at the reception desk. - The McDonalds next door smelled like a sewer inside their entryway. Has nothing to do with the Iron Goat business. Just letting you know in case you decide to grab an egg mcmuffin while you wait on your oil change. Bottom line: I will go there again, and highly recommend this place for other Jeepers in the OKC area. If you have a complex job, I would just make sure to specify everything you want in detail prior to and during the service, and then scrutinize the invoice prior to paying it.

My 06 Winnebago/Sprinter View transmission failed all of sudden at 88k miles. I was stranded in…read moreLouisiana. So I read up on my options, saw some good reviews on Sprinter forum, and contacted Silverstar. They answered all my questions. So I ordered their rebuilt trans for $2500. (Mercedes remanufactured was quoted at about $6400) Something went wrong on the install and a threaded connection on the bellhousing that holds the cooling line failed. That ruined the trans. Unbelievable. Then came the finger-pointing between dealer and Silverstar. Now I was on day 14 in a hotel, absolutely raring to get back on the open road but still stuck. Then I got an email from Silverstar saying, "My friend, you're between a rock and a hard place. That's why we're sending a warranty transmission.". Huge relief. It shipped right away. In all likelihood the problem happened at the dealership and it wasn't a faulty unit, but Silverstar stood behind their product -- as they promised up front. All's well 1000 miles later -- Thank you Silverstar!!!

I have a 2002 Tahoe 4x4 z71 I brought it to custom transmissions because I heard nothing but good…read morethings about them. When I dropped truck off I paid 2,150 dollars cuz she knocked off 150 dollars from the original 2300 dollar price because I've done business with her before through a company I worked for before and she remembered who I was. I paid the 2,150 up front she told me that her mechanic was on vacation and I wouldn't get it back for about 20 days. I told her that was fine because I trusted the place and was told I was getting a full rebuild I even told her no matter what was wrong rebuild the whole transmission. 21 days later I got the truck back with 400 miles on it parking receipts in the truck and gas cap missing I let that slide cuz I thought I got a full transmission rebuild for a professional shop. They gave me a 12,000 mile 12 month warranty. 56,000 miles later transmission went out took it to another transmission shop who actually showed me the old parts he pulled out of and said by how wore they were that there was more than 56,000 miles on it for sure more like 200,000 miles on those parts there were only a full parts on it that he could assure me were new. I will never take my stuff here again all thumbs down! Make your own choice but my advice is to find a professional tranny shop they used to be good from what I've told but what they did to me was unacceptable especially for the price I paid. Use them at your risk! I was assured that it was a full rebuild that's why I didn't complain about the 400 dollars and the parking receipts and the fast food garbage just remember the lady knows what she's talking about but she also knows how to talk a good game!
