While waiting for my order to be made, I observed two baristas chasing a bee that made its way into the store. This went on for about five minutes and then these same ones began to make my drink. They were out of whipped cream and needed to make some. Truthfully, it was incredibly annoying to be asked if I wanted whipped cream with the undertone that them having to make it would be an inconvenience to them. Though they were apologetic, my wait could have been cut in half had the two baristas didn't spend time chasing a bee.

I got to Oakville earlier than I had expected. I needed a drink on a hot, sunny day. I did a quick search and found this Starbucks close by. I headed over there. This cafe is its own standalone building. I dig it. It's rare to find. It's either a part of a series of businesses, or is built into a Petro-Canada gas station. I spotted a drive-thru and decided to check it out. There was a single car in front of me. When I was my turn, I spoke to a man. I ordered my usual when it's summer, which is a grande iced peach green tea. It still bugs me that, by default, staff assume that you want it with lemonade. Um, no. If I had said lemonade, it would indicate that I want it. I got to the pickup window and spoke to a male barista. I had him scan my Starbucks barcode on my phone to pay for my drink. He then asked how I'd like to pay, holding a payment machine. I was confused. I asked him, "Didn't I just pay?" He had to check. I don't know what he did or did not do there, but he needed to rescan my barcode. Weird. I did get my drink. I thanked him, despite being weirded out by the double-scan oddness. I drank my iced peach green tea. It hit the spot. It was refreshing, cold, and perfect. If I'm back in this area, I'd drop by again. It has a patio with many folks enjoying it that day. Let me preface by saying that their OG The David sandwiches are not bad. The focaccia bread was nice, and the sauce is solid where they didn't overdo the truffle flavours. What they however overdid was the prosciutto. Sometimes in life, less is more. They just went 'ham' with layers upon layers of what tasted like the cheap San Daniele prosciutto (according to the website they used ones produced by local Niagara farmers), where in parts of the sandwich that didn't have the mozzarella cheese, the sandwich was inedible because it was so salty. By eating the entire sandwich, I would have exceeded the entire week's sodium intake. By the end, I had to throw a quarter of the sandwich out since it was so heavy and salty. Had they invested in higher quality prosciutto and included just two or three layers of it, it would have been a pretty good sandwich. I remember, outside the restaurant they said something along the lines of if someone ate a sandwich from Sandwich Society, he/she would not regret it like their EXs. But after having one, I experienced a certain degree of buyer's remorse. Remember, "we don't eat sandwiches because we are hungry.
