    10/15/22 Starting the event right!!!

Thanks Bharti (Bee) S and Chatan S for showing interest on Yelp to this event, which encouraged me to attend! Then of course, I bumped into Yelp CM Katie R!! Quality/Quantity - Very good event, approximately 3 blocks long, not including side streets. Plenty of drink booths, all of which the lines moved at a very reasonable pace. Gordon Biersch - A blast from my past. Used to be my favorite beer on the slopes with garlic fries; need I say more. Plenty of eating booths and German choices. WE got into every line that was excessively long, on purpose, just to see what the hype was about. FYI, not much. Plenty of restrooms and handwashing stations, but I do NOT recommend using them at the end of the day! Lastly, at most events, they NEED to learn to refill the water at those portable hand washing stations more frequently! Small kids area, very reasonably priced at $5-$10. A few giveaways. Atmosphere - Saturday 10am to 6pm, Sunday 10am to 5pm; see my pictures for restrictions. Free music and entertainment, approximately 3-4 stages. No wifi or cellular service; so sorry if I uploaded duplicate pictures... Too many people in my opinion, when you get bumped left and right, that classifies as too many people. Or was it because they drank too much? Safe and secure! Plenty of law enforcement with their Colt M4's. Police and ROTC at all entrances. The fire department was also represented, but more as a booth. CERT was there as well for advertising and first aid. All lines, including the long ones, moved at a very reasonable pace, thank you. Shaded eating areas, some by the stages. Everyone, including myself, seemed to have a good time. They also held contests, see my pictures. Dog friendly, although the website suggested against it. Plenty of easy free parking in the neighborhood, thank you. I'm told that there are free parking garages also...? Free bike valet. *If you want to eat at some of the nicer restaurants in this area, make sure you have reservations; sadly we did NOT. Service - Overall good. We got mini donuts, and the man and woman at the booth were exceptional. My daughter stood in front of the booth waiting for me to come and pay and they gave her a sample as she waited. Price - Festival prices, so above average. And it also depends on what you buy. Plenty of easy free parking in the neighborhood, thank you. You can/could have also pre-ordered your drink tickets, to avoid lines. Owner Comment - Congrats on all your 27 years of success. This is an event that I can recommend to all.

I stumbled across this by chance, and decided to check it out. We walked by the vendor tents and really loved the variety of what we saw, not just repetitive clothes or jewelry (as some festivals and street fairs offer), we saw unique plants, comic book puzzles, insect displays, and a chinchilla rescue tent (with actual chinchillas sitting in cages). There's plenty of entertainment for both kids and adults... bubbles, a magic show tent, and live music on almost every block (and good music too... rock, modern, classic, and so on). And of course great bites to eat, like Holey Donuts, giant sausages, bbq skewers, and more, on top of the regular businesses which are already great in downtown Campbell. They had beer and wine tents too, but kind of confusing cuz they have a separate ticket tent before you can get the actual beverages... and the ticket tent closes early. Had a fun time at the event and enjoying the beautiful weather and good vibes. Only thing, parking was difficult.. The free garage was full, so we ended up parking in the nearby neighborhood, which added to our walk. Still, not a bad way to spend a Sunday afternoon in October.

The mugs are plain, so buy your favorite German sticker and dress it up.

Plenty of parking in parking garages so come on down. TIP: Pass up the booths for beer tickets and beer in the middle of the event. There are booths selling the same tickets and beer on both ends of the event with little or no lines. I found everything I was looking for: Good beer Good food Good music ZickeZacke band was the star of the show. Lots of fun.

Unfortunately, I was "Waitlisted" for the YEE Milpitas event for Sunday the 20th. I would just like to say that there have been many people visiting from California graciously welcomed at our NJ YEE events. Instead, a friend and I came to Oktoberfest in the city of Campbell on Sunday October 20th. Parking was absolutely terrible. It was impossible to park in municipal parking garage and on the streets. We finally found a spot on the street. The festival was just a plain arts and crafts festival. I figured since it was Oktoberfest, there would be many unique german items to purchase like steins, great desserts etc.... Of course, at the fest there was lots of beer drinking. In addition, wine was available. The beer and wine was nothing to write home about. There were lines waiting for the Porta Johns. The fest could've used a lot more Porta Johns. The Sauerbraten was pretty good. Of course, we wanted to try the German pretzels. Several times, we waited in line for pretzels. When we we got to the truck window, the guy would say we would have to wait 10 minutes for the next batch of pretzels. Anyway, we decided to walk around and come back. When we finally did get our pretzels, they were not even good with mustard. I could've gotten much better pretzels on the streets of New York. The fest was extremely noisy, overcrowded and had long waiting lines. There were other issues too. It was really good that there was a lot of security around. I would not return to this festival next year. Thank heaven, there were two Oompah bands performing. They saved the day!!!

Positive's Lots of cool crafts to look at. People dressed for the occasion. Lots of yummy food and drink. Very low-key. Lots of police officer presence. I actually so a girl getting arrested for shoplifting I should have taken her photo and posted it....sham on you!! Great live band playing fantastic music. Negative's Supper long lines for food. Bumper to bumper people. Not enough places to sit and relax. All the establishments are super slammed. Overall... Yes, go and spend some time and enjoy the sites and smells.

It was a nice excuse to stop by my Storage Spot and take the Down Low Whip for its last ride of the year . I rolled to Campbell and was able to Park at the Shopping center ,right down the street and street hiked to the Festival. I was impressed with the Turn Out . Tons of people ,Packs of Girls rolling around drinking Brew-skis. Quite a few women wearing Oktoberfest Beer Maiden outfits . They had a Traditional German Band Playing at one end of the Festival. The Festival had the usual type Vendors , Food , Art , Crafts and Drink. They need to add more Beer Pour stations ,lines were huge! They ran out of the Festival Glasses . There was a cool Top 40s Band playing Non Stop at the Other end of the Festival. Great place to get a Tan , Drink and People Watch. Campbell Pd had a strong Presense at the festival.

Cute strip of eateries and shops Located in CampbeLL. DTC offers you eats ranging from upscaLe/pricey to very affordabLe. This apparentLy is the pLace to catch up and mingLe so if you're anti crowds, this may not be right for you. For the Lovebirds out there: the trees are Lit up at night with buLbs that make your stroLL aLong the strip that much more romanticaL ;D Minus one star for the terribLe parking during peak hours and over the weekend but it's kind of expected.

I agree that this is more of an arts and wine festival w/ groupings of German food vendors as well as other food vendors (I saw Luigi's) present. This was my 1st Oktoberfest event ever so I was excited to see what it's all about. I didn't notice much, failed to learn anything (although I'm perfectly aware this isn't a cultural learning class) but I kind of wish I did learn something. Yes, I'm a geek. I got there rather early.. like 10:30am and got sweet ass parking IN THE SHADE! I did not have my Mustard w/ me but I had Eggplant w/ me so I unloaded the stroller and went about my merry way... Streets were filled w/ policemen and the peace corps... making sure no abrasive drunks walk out and/or in. Despite the availability of alcohol, I felt very safe and the venue made it hassle-free for the drinkers.. I guess the complaint from previous years weren't great so you can purchase your drink ticket thingy via your iPhone (I know, I love my iPhone too) and they do check your ID and wrap a wristband around you after verifying your ID and after you've paid ($5 for a drink ticket and $10 for a drink ticket plus the glass). This will be my 2nd beer ever.. I tried Beck's.. I don't know what it was called but I did explain to the lady that I am not a drinker so I was looking for something light.. I don't know if the "light" has anything to do w/ the taste but, "OMGoodness it tasted horrible!" I sipped the damn thing 3 times and chucked it. What I did enjoy was the red Bratwurst w/ sauerkraut, mustard, and ketchup. For $6 it kind of, sort of filled me up. I didn't want to binge but I wish I tried the potato cakes among other fried goodies I saw. Overall experience? Not bad at all. Would I go again? Perhaps but I will take Light Rail and will not have a drink but instead fill me up w/ the fat, calories, and carbohydrates from the food!

Crowded, hectic, food, and drunkies! This year was my first year going to Oktoberfest. Started around 10am but decided to go later around 4pm to ditch craziness if I were to go at noon. It was still super crazy around, took 5-8 minutes to find parking. Had to circle around the parking garage for a while. It was dead in the middle of a bunch of restaurants and stores like aquis, opa, el guapos etc..... I have to admit though, it was pretty cool! Seeing everyone drunk off their butts having a good time. The beer line is really really really ridiculous!! One whole street long! That's like that for every single beer stand too! I feel like they didn't expect it to be that many people there because getting beer and food was shoulder to shoulder. $20 would get you a glass and two beers

Beer, sausages, pretzel, music, dancing, art and other goodies? What more could you ask for! Oktoberfest in Downtown Campbell is the entire downtown stretch, there are so many booths for art, goodies and food - the lines are never that long. Even there are lines, it goes by so fast. Bring cash! Some places do allow for card. Hopefully next year they improve on more places bringing card readers. My only complaint is that they have more prominent booths for information, first aid? I didn't even see first aid booth at all. Some old guy in a wheelchair ran into me and cut my leg - his wife and him acted as if it was my fault for standing in line... the fuck. A first aid booth would had been great. Overall, my experience here was wonderful. Super packed, lots of excitement and energy. Limited beer selection - but nice portions. Can't wait for next year.

My favorite October fest downtown Campbell great food lots of music The Campbell brewery has better beer you just have to drink it at the brewery But gordon biersch beer is good too Is turning into arts and crafts show I've been coming back a lot just To by the almonds and cashews There's 2 people out there now But my favorite one is the guy's been there over 18 years last year he was not there but hes back again I was so happy to see him I always get the 5 deal package Save a little money and have for quite many months after great nuts

My 10 year old kicked ass flying through the running field for an 11th place finnish overall. A 40 year old guy intimadated by my 4'4, 53 pound son pushed him back twice or he would have probably placed 9th. Next year he will be looking for a top 10 finnish!

It's amazing to see how all-out so many of the houses go, just about every single one has some sort of Christmas or Hanukkah display, light, or decoration. It's also amazing how much more crowded it gets every year. I used to drive it, but now I don't dare try. I'll typically park near one of the main streets and get out and walk. This is usually much more enjoyable since you aren't having to fight nonstop car and foot traffic. This year I went a little late in the season and even walking it wasn't all that enjoyable because of the groups of 15+ people together and the people running around doing a scavenger hunt, so lesson learned. This past year we parked a bit further and got to see some displays that I either haven't seen in the past or are newer, but it was nice to stroll the less crowded streets and still enjoy the holiday magic. Unlike in years past, there were even street dog vendors out this time around. Felt like I was leaving a concert or a sporting event!

What we thought would be a short stroll turned into a full holiday experience, one of those nights where Christmas feels alive. We have seen many decorated streets and cul de sacs before, but Willow Glen surprised us. Multiple neighborhoods followed shared themes, with streets labeled things like Candy Cane Lane and Santa's Sleigh and Reindeer. It felt like walking through a storybook, where each street had its own chapter. The decorations were beautiful and thoughtful. Some areas felt like a small festival, with trains, horse carriages, brews on bicycles, and families everywhere enjoying the moment. Vendors selling churros, hot chocolate, hot dogs, and light up toys added to the fun. These streets truly embody Christmas, warm, joyful, and full of wonder. The highlight of the night was meeting Mrs. Santa Claus of Willow Glen. She was kind, welcoming, and full of heart. She hosted the churro truck and clearly gives so much back to the community. She felt like the soul of the neighborhood, a reminder that Christmas magic often comes from people, not just lights. Bring your family and friends and take your time walking around, or enjoy it from your car. There is so much to see and feel here. This is the kind of place that turns a simple evening into a memory, and it will definitely be an annual Christmas tradition for us.

The Boogie fest is presented as a music event, and the music this past weekend was definitely a highlight when we visited on Sunday morning. Several different stages spaced out nicely, and great communication online about the set times and locations for each of the bands performing throughout the two-day celebration. We especially enjoyed the sounds of the keyboard and vocals by Connor Morrison, as he filled the air with classic songs like Brown Eyed Girl and Elton John faves. We also found some seats near the central stage where The Jukebox Boyz put on a lively show for the crowd, with their unique renditions of awesome tunes including Come Together by The Beatles, Sweet Home Alabama, (I Can't Get No) Satisfaction, and Billy Joel's My Life, We were only there for a couple of hours, but the music was great! Food options, on the other hand, were limited. We found mostly the typical fried food stands, along with multiple vendors selling sweets (mini donuts, churros, beignets). I tried some chocolate beignets from the "More to Life" dessert stand, and they were were so yummy! Taste and texture were satisfying. I had to get coffee at one of a local cafe, cuz there were no vendors at the event selling my preferred iced beverage. There was definitely beer and wine being sold on site though. While there wasn't much variety in food offerings, we were able to grab some lumpia and a teriyaki chicken & veggie bowl from one of the booths for lunch, and it was pretty good. In addition, merchandise vendors and businesses were selling lots of unique stuff, like totes with charming designs, music equipment, and various handmade products. It didn't take long to explore the various tents while strolling along the festival grounds. We even tried free samples of brisket chips, checked out the caricature artists, and adored the cute kittens of Silicon Valley Animal Control Authority. Another laid back and free community event... nothing extraordinary about it, but we appreciated our time here and the organizers who made it all possible.

We picked the first time slot of 6 pm so there wasn't any traffic and all the staff make it very easy and clear to enter safely. It took us about 30 minutes to drive through all the light displays and it was magical. There are themed neighborhoods of lights like elves, north pole animals, dinosaurs, garden flowers, and several beautiful arches of lights. I liked the live music with them doing old song to new songs. In terms of food there was 2 food trucks and a bunch of booths. There was Mexican food, funnel cake, Indian food, Chinese Chicken salads, dots, lemonade, etc. This was all free entry so doesn't cost anything to walk around. We decided to get wine and boy that was a rip off but I guess its because it goes to charity. $7 for the wine glass and then another $7 or $9 (premium wine.) So one glass of wine was $14. It was definitely a big pour though. I was really more hoping to have a single glass and do some wine tasting. It was nice to get out of the house but definitely wouldn't go out of my way for this one.

I wouldn't recommend going to Moreland Pumpkin Patch if you're planning on doing the family walk…read more It was quite expensive at $15 per person, even for my 2yo. We lined up at our 730pm check-in time and waited 35 minutes in the cold and were only halfway through the line. We left because it would have been another 25-35 more minutes to get through the line. However, the staff was great and the carnival games were fun. Nice to have all of the thoughtful decorations as well, our child loved playing with all of the pumpkins.

We did not enter the trail until 720pm, and that is after getting in line at 640pm. Just be aware. Which is fine, my family had fun and the actors inside are funny and well rehearsed. However, since we waited so long, we got out of the trail around 750pm. My kid wanted to play the carnival games, which close at 8pm, so we bought some tickets to play, and were out to the carnival by 752pm, they had already taken everything down and had only a few simple games still up. My kid was bummed, but I figured since there were no refunds, I could go back and get a snack instead with my tickets. I was denied and told to come back next week to redeem the tickets. I know this is all for a good cause and it really isn't too big of a deal, but it is silly that I literally bought the tickets within a minute and then walked back after the carnival being closed and then denied to even use the tickets on anything else and then told to come back next week. They were told not to sell any tickets since they were closing up the carnival early, but I guess it wasn't communicated well. I guess we will be back to use up the tickets next weekend...?

They accepted both cash and credit cards for the $5 admission fee at the entrance. Taking place at the Saint Nicholas Greek Orthodox Church, there was plenty of outdoor space for food, drink, and merchandise vendor booths. So many delicious bites sold throughout, from grilled meats to classic greek desserts, I was overwhelmed with choices, but having too much good stuff to choose from is not a bad thing. I ended up grabbing a few delectable specialty dishes, including some to take home, like tiropita, spanakopita, pastitsio, and moussaka. That greek lasagna was especially yummy! Greek beer and wine, and cocktails, as well as frappes/coffee, were available on site too. Church tours were scheduled throughout the day, and of course live entertainment. Music and dance performances full of energy and smiles, embracing the culture, and keeping the crowd in good spirits with lovely sounds. This included live music by Mythos, with open public dancing. A unique song selection played, beyond just classic fast-paced greek tunes. Think a mashup of greek melodies and Wipe Out, yup those musicians definitely kept it interesting. I was captivated by the footwork as guests engaged in chain dancing in front of the stage. The mayor of San Jose joining in the fun as well, putting on his best moves on the dance floor. Also, a greek dance performance by Ethnos on Sunday afternoon (and multiple times throughout the 3-day event), a group of middle school kids dressed in costume showcasing their talents for the crowd. There were plenty of tables and seating throughout, including an air-conditioned indoor hall, and even the entire entertainment stage area outside was shaded for the comfort of guests. Wow, amazing! The festival was organized incredibly well, and a detailed event program and map was available online, which was ideal for attendees to plan ahead of time while learning a little bit of history about the food, traditions, and more. A joyful atmosphere and great sense of community, altogether.
