This is a favorite annual tradition for my family, I can't even remember a time that we didn't come to Fantasy of Lights at Christmas. I think my review is pretty biased since it's something I've done for 25+ years, if I didn't have the emotional connection maybe it wouldn't be 5 stars, but I love holiday magic and traditions, so 5 stars it is! Over the years it's gotten even better, mostly because they now require reservations so the longest you'll usually have to wait is around 30 minutes, opposed to the 2-3 hours we waited many years ago. Other changes over the years aside from ridding of the exit hot chocolate (RIP) have been the addition of new light displays, including some very vibrant flowers the last couple of years, a slight price increase (but hey the lights aren't cheap to run, and the money goes to Santa Clara county parks), and a route change the last two years. Excited to keep this tradition going for years to come!

**Visited on Saturday, 12/7/2024 during their walk through event! Fantasy of Lights has definitely become one of the Christmas spots you visit during the holidays- and though you would typically purchase a ticket per car, this walk through event was one ticket per person. I have previously gone here during the drive through, but this walk through experience was quite pleasant. During this event, we were asked to park at Netflix where we would board on a shuttle to the park. It was pretty well organized and the drive to the park itself flew by. It was cool walking through the park and seeing the different light structures before ending at the food vendors area. There were plenty of different options, and my group and I had a blast. I think there's definitely more potential for Fantasy Lights- especially if they add more walk through events and maybe a few areas for interactive entertainment!

While the experience at Fantasy of Lights has been great in the past, people don't want to spend money and come back to see the same style of lights again and again. With so many choices for holiday lights and Christmas in the parks popping up in the Bay Area, this experience is no longer exclusive and they seriously need to make some changes to keep folks happy.

Attended this event on Monday night at Vasona Lake County Park. Apparently it's their 25th anniversary, so that's cool. There was a small line of cars around 8:30pm but it went quickly, then the drive-thru show lasted about 30 minutes (probably cuz we wanted to see everything, as first-timers). You'd probably get through it more quickly and it may not be as exciting if you're a repeat visitor (one time is enough for me... unless they make big changes in the future). Disposable glasses were given to visitors, which provided a kaleidescope of color when viewing the exhibits, but are totally unnecessary to enjoy the attraction, plus a little inconvenient since the glasses have no arms to hang onto your ears so you have to hold them up to your face with your own arm. The lights are not synchronized with the music, like SJ's Xmas in the Park drive thru experience. And the decor is pretty much the use of light to create characters and scenes, which they did a pretty good job designing cool displays, like a pirate ship, and moving exhibits, such as a canon ball or Santa shooting hoops. Of course, the rainbow tunnel is a fave, a colorful changing pattern as you drive through. But there were many parts of the drive thru with no displays at all, some areas just pitch black, which was surprising. I do appreciate the effort put into this holiday attraction, but the value just wasn't quite there for me. Looks like the price has increased significantly in 2023, and is per vehicle not per person, so it's $30 for couples (like as a date activity), or $100 for a bus full of people!?! By the way, even with a bit of rain outside, the drive thru and light displays were enjoyable.

Our favorite part of the light show!

Great for kids! But honestly as an adult I find it highly underwhelming. I have been coming to the Fantasy of Lights event for 4 years straight. &I have discovered that the lights are the exact same EVERY YEAR, in the same exact spots of the park also.. They never switch it up! lol. Which isn't much of a problem for kids of course because the kids do not remember the exact same show from a year earlier... (but I do! lol.) With all the money they make for this Christmas event you'd think they would upgrade a few simple light arches into something extravagantly lit up/cooler or add some new decorations but sadly they don't.. This year however I DID notice a few new items like a shivering snowman in a box, and some light up giant flowers which we very much enjoyed! Another thing I would add is there is often a large span of dark spaces throughout the light show in between waiting to see new light exhibits. Anyway there are a few things we do enjoy! We LOVEEE the light up tunnel, it is our favorite part of the show! I wish they would have another one towards the middle or even the end of the show to make it more interesting to look at (to be honest.) My family also enjoys the diversity of decorations such as dinosaurs, elves, flowers, animals, people, actions displays, and so on. However it would be nice to see new decorations and a new area introduced soon! The workers here are always very helpful and friendly. My daughter very much enjoyed the Fantasy of Lights show so that made it all worth it! My partner and I find it underwhelming as adults because we remember the exact same decorations as every other year... lol. But as long as the kids are happy it's a WIN/WIN for us! I would also like to add that the music chosen this year had a lot of OLD classics and that's great but they could totally benefit from adding some fun + kid friendly music for the kids to sing along to. My 6 year old didn't recognize the older classics (obviously) so we switched over to current holiday music from popular cartoons like "Do you want to build a Snowman?" from Frozen and "Jingle Bells" because we NEEDED the Jingle Bells dance added in for sure. lol. We did love the inclusivity of them playing "Felix Navidad" we throughly enjoyed that choice! If your kids are small they will love it here! I think older kids might remember the same decorations at some point.. I would also like to add that the price has gradually increased over the years, yet the decorations and placement stay the same.. so just keep that in mind. Over the years I have learned a few tricks! Tip #1: Purchase your tickets early, (maybe even in November or the first days of December) because they do usually sell out! Tip #2: This might seem obvious but.. Be sure to book your tour during a calmer day of the week (for example: Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, maybe even Thursday) because the weekend is when they are the MOST busy and they get very PACKED. The calmer days of the week run much more smoothly and have far less traffic. We very much enjoyed our show on a Wednesday. It took maybe 5-10 minutes in line to get to the entrance, it was very fast. Once we entered the show we drove very slowly (never tailgate drivers please which I see a lot of people doing) and the show lasted maybe 14/15 minutes while taking our sweet time. lol. I feel I should mention that the ticket costs $32.49 for one car.. for a 15 minute drive (if you drive extremely slow like us to enjoy lol).

This is really well organized. This is great for families of all ages. It's a drive through event so it was perfect because my elderly family can't walk for long periods. We took my 84 year old aunt, 80 year old mom and 8 kids and cousins, and 2 dogs. Everyone, even the dogs loved it! I was so happy to be able to do something that included everyone. They have you listen to a radio station that plays holiday music so it was perfect. Highly recommend this and will take more family next year.

It was a fun drive through to see the Fantasy of lights show this year. Despite the rains, the light show was fun and dazzling. They had many themes- Christmas, dinosaurs, nutcracker, dragons and snowmen. The kids loved it from the car. Plz be considerate and drive slowly to enjoy the scenery. As a reminder, best enjoyed when you switch off your headlights in the car. The crowds are long and I heard from many others that this event sells out really fast. Will visit again next year

An absolutely delightful experience and especially grateful for the joy during covid times. We heard about this event from our friends and were advised to book online in advance. The tickets becomes available in November and sell out very fast ! They charge about $22 per vehicle and are available on Eventbrite. We were able to reserve a slot for Saturday night and my daughter throughly enjoyed it ! The city has clearly marked directions for the event and the car line up was about 20 mins. The entire event was drive through only ( due to covid ) and the cars moved at a slow comfortable pace so that we could snap photos and enjoy each area. The park is quite big and they had several themed sections. A lot of effort had gone into the decor and it was a treat to attend. We will definitely be returning next year.

Can I buy the tickets in person? Online is sold out for cars and I don't drive a truck!

No, sorry! This event opens ticket sales on 3 different days starting a month before the event. When ticket sales open you have to buy your tickets within a couple of hours because there is a limited amount of tickets. The event sells out for that…

I saw my Eventbrite has 2 tickets this year, does this mean I only can have 2 people or 2 cars?

The ticket is based on per car IF: Your ticket should say "FANTASY OF LIGHTS DRIVE THROUgH" $21.99…

    Cuanto cuesta la entrada?

    20-50

Can we pay entrance there or do we have to buy tickets?

How early must you get there for your time slot?

Our time slot was 8:00pm last Wednesday 12/18. We arrived about half an hour early. There was a line of cars outside of the entrance. When we got to the end of that line I saw a sign that said "current wait time 30 min." Enjoy!

It's amazing to see how all-out so many of the houses go, just about every single one has some sort of Christmas or Hanukkah display, light, or decoration. It's also amazing how much more crowded it gets every year. I used to drive it, but now I don't dare try. I'll typically park near one of the main streets and get out and walk. This is usually much more enjoyable since you aren't having to fight nonstop car and foot traffic. This year I went a little late in the season and even walking it wasn't all that enjoyable because of the groups of 15+ people together and the people running around doing a scavenger hunt, so lesson learned. This past year we parked a bit further and got to see some displays that I either haven't seen in the past or are newer, but it was nice to stroll the less crowded streets and still enjoy the holiday magic. Unlike in years past, there were even street dog vendors out this time around. Felt like I was leaving a concert or a sporting event!

Enchant is in the PayPal arena when the Quakes soccer team plays. It was nicely decorated and the whole arena was decorated in a whole wintry theme. I think it's an extra fee. Soon we reach the exhibit. It's beautiful inside. The lights and colors make it so magical. They hand out these scratch cards. The Boogie fest is presented as a music event, and the music this past weekend was definitely a highlight when we visited on Sunday morning. Several different stages spaced out nicely, and great communication online about the set times and locations for each of the bands performing throughout the two-day celebration. We especially enjoyed the sounds of the keyboard and vocals by Connor Morrison, as he filled the air with classic songs like Brown Eyed Girl and Elton John faves. We also found some seats near the central stage where The Jukebox Boyz put on a lively show for the crowd, with their unique renditions of awesome tunes including Come Together by The Beatles, Sweet Home Alabama, (I Can't Get No) Satisfaction, and Billy Joel's My Life, We were only there for a couple of hours, but the music was great! Food options, on the other hand, were limited. We found mostly the typical fried food stands, along with multiple vendors selling sweets (mini donuts, churros, beignets). I tried some chocolate beignets from the "More to Life" dessert stand, and they were were so yummy! Taste and texture were satisfying. I had to get coffee at one of a local cafe, cuz there were no vendors at the event selling my preferred iced beverage. There was definitely beer and wine being sold on site though. While there wasn't much variety in food offerings, we were able to grab some lumpia and a teriyaki chicken & veggie bowl from one of the booths for lunch, and it was pretty good. In addition, merchandise vendors and businesses were selling lots of unique stuff, like totes with charming designs, music equipment, and various handmade products. It didn't take long to explore the various tents while strolling along the festival grounds. We even tried free samples of brisket chips, checked out the caricature artists, and adored the cute kittens of Silicon Valley Animal Control Authority. Another laid back and free community event... nothing extraordinary about it, but we appreciated our time here and the organizers who made it all possible.

If you're local, it could be a nice way to spend a few hours. It wasn't heavy music or dancing themes, so I'm not sure why it was designated differently than you're standard art and wine festival. Parking can be found at the nearby city hall/community center grounds for free. Otherwise you're going to be fighting for street or garage parking. It's a one and done-fine but not memorable.

There was no shortage of wine tents either, including Naumann Vineyards and Shunyi Cellars. The festival took place near State Street Market, so I opted to grab some snacks there rather than from the various food vendors on site. But the offerings were pretty decent, ranging from asian street food to paella. Of course, ice cream and funnel cakes too. I enjoyed the live music, with rotating bands on multiple stages. Caught a performance by the Jazz Connexion at the Veterans Community Plaza and the Wanderers in the early afternoon on the main stage, with a playlist including Walk Like an Egyptian by the Bangles, Bruno Mars' Treasure, and Everybody Wants to Rule the World. The sound system was pretty bad, but the musicians were good as usual... I've actually seen them perform at other local events before and have been a fan for years. There were tables and seating provided as well, though most people squeezed into the shaded area while I was there. All in all, I had a good time, and I appreciate that it was free admission.
