2/15/25. 1 PM Spent the morning walking around Williamsburg. The hubster suggested burgers. I'm open. But I'm also picky. When I want a burger, I want a juicy , full flavored, soft bun, culinary experience. Three of us ordered the OG and I ordered the monthly special. The line was relatively short so we ordered rather quickly. We were given a buzzer to let us know when our food was ready to pick up at the counter. And then we waited......and waited...then waited some more. It was quite awhile so my husband was getting ready to tell them he thinks his buzzer was broken! Then it buzzed. It was about a half an hour before we got our burgers. I can't imagine the wait on a busy day. Canned sodas came with our order but we had to wait in another line for cups with ice. This review is like the classic novel by Charles Dickens, A Tale of Two Cities. I ordered the OG Burger and fries. Pretty basic order. On one side, you have a decent smash burger. Not bad yet nothing spectacular. The burger alone was a 3 star burger.... on the other side, we have the fries. HOW DO YOU FUCK UP FRIES ???? Its like they are trying to be the Temu of 5 Guys. Your fries come in a cup with some extra in the tray. Unfortunately, the person dropping them into the fryer and then removing them from the fryer jacked up step 2. My fries were so undercooked, they were damn near raw inside. The potato was very firm and the fries were half cold. Obviously they failed Fry 101 at Old Dominion University.... If you want a decent burger swing by. Anything more than that, keep driving, or just hit the taco joint around the corner inside the building. Update: Came back to the beer hall with some friends a few days later. A few guys had the burgers and they were ok, but AGAIN, the fucking fries were undercooked!!! Come on now folks how hard is it to get this right??? But that's not the kicker.... was in using the bathroom, and saw the cooking from this establishment walk out of the shutter and leave the bathroom WITHOUT washing his hands!!! He's making our food for Christmas sake!! Where is the health department when you need them???? This was a food counter, it was clean and the staff was personable. The order took over 45 minutes, that was tough. Get the speed of service figured out abs this place will be really good! read more

Maybe I'm a bad person, but I ordered this burger expecting to make fun of it. It was this concoction of brie, balsamic, fried onion, and I don't remember what else, but there was stuff.... It was in the top 3 burgers I ever had in my life. It was so good. And even a single patty (there was an option for more patties) was very filling. Downsides? The fries were just OK. Not bad, but just OK. The wait time was a little much, although it WAS Friday night so that might get a pass. And there were a lot of children....which this place has no control over. And I have children. I generally like children. But like......a LOT of children. BUT that aside, I might go back tomorrow because the burger was that good. read more

I know it doesn't sound like much, but their beef hot dog was one of the best hot dogs I've ever had. Their dirty fries are also delicious. Reasonably priced and geniusly located inside Precarious. Get the hot dog. Get the fries. So good! read more

Food: 2/5 the burgers and fries were not worth it. Above average for price and the amount of food you get. The Creeper meant to be spicy, but completely lacked any heat and couldn't even tell if it had any flavor. The Veggie burger fell apart and somehow was overcooked. The fries were simply crinkle cut and had Cajun/Old bay seasoning for $5. Way overpriced for these! Atmosphere: 3/5 great place to hangout since it's styled like a food hall. They had games, some restaurants, and good seating inside with limited outside. It can get very noisy here. This is a decent joint. There's a lot going on there, and it's kind of a sensory overload, but the food was decent. It's in a sort of food court, so be aware if you go further in, there's also a brew bar and there is also a taco place. It is not full service. You order at the counter and they give you a pager for when it's ready. Burger is a 7 out of 10 and fries were a 7 out of 10. The burger was constructed well and the beef patties had good browning but the bun (maybe brioche) ruined it for me. Always stop for a beer at Precarious when we come to Williamsburg and was surprised to see that there has been an expansion. Couldn't turn down a smash burger so I went with the First Rodeo I believe it was called. Never had a burger with bacon jam or bbq sauce (I'm typically a cheese and ketchup only kind of person) and I thought it was fantastic! Fries were pretty good too, maybe a little too much seasoning but that might be my taste. Will definitely be incorporating into my Precarious tradition. read more

Stopped at Precarious Brewing and decided to hang out on a Friday night to hear the comedian. But my wife and I were hungry. No problem--Dominion Burger is right there. So we ordered the nacho fries for a snack. It was a mound of food covered in drizzle of various sauces with the tiniest bit of guacamole perched on top. As soon as we tried it, my wife knew she couldn't eat it--it was so salty, greasy and full of msg flavor that it was amazing. Maybe some people are used to that--and such food is engineered in the lab to appeal to our taste buds--but it is really nasty for those accustomed to preparing fresh, quality food. Service was fine and we enjoyed the comedian, but I think the only way I avoided getting sick--I didn't stop immediately the way my wife did--is that I went home and took a serving of activated charcoal.
