2/15/25. 1 PM Spent the morning walking around Williamsburg. The hubster suggested burgers. I'm open. But I'm also picky. When I want a burger, I want a juicy , full flavored, soft bun, culinary experience. Three of us ordered the OG and I ordered the monthly special. The line was relatively short so we ordered rather quickly. We were given a buzzer to let us know when our food was ready to pick up at the counter. And then we waited......and waited...then waited some more. It was quite awhile so my husband was getting ready to tell them he thinks his buzzer was broken! Then it buzzed. It was about a half an hour before we got our burgers. I can't imagine the wait on a busy day. Canned sodas came with our order but we had to wait in another line for cups with ice. The burgers and fries were what I wanted them to be. The long wait was a 30 second distant memory as we sunk our teeth into these delicious burgers!!

Old Dominion Burger is a fast food burger place in the Precarious Beer Hall. The burgers are thin and presented on buttered buns. They have different toppings to make your burger more interesting, like BBQ sauce, or blue cheese, among others. The fries are good with a spicy seasoning. You order at a counter and get a pager to alert you when your food is ready. This is a fun place to visit with lots of games like air hockey, pinball, and other large games, plus big screen TVs. Parking is across the street, with the first two hours free.

This was more of a 3.5. The food was good. I got some wings )kewl ranch dry rub) and some fries. Both were very good and well cooked. This was a food counter, it was clean and the staff was personable. The order took over 45 minutes, that was tough. Get the speed of service figured out abs this place will be really good!

Hot dog - really good

I know it doesn't sound like much, but their beef hot dog was one of the best hot dogs I've ever had. Their dirty fries are also delicious. Reasonably priced and geniusly located inside Precarious. Get the hot dog. Get the fries. So good!

Undercooked burgers and fries.. some fries were over cooked and hard. The burgers were extremely inconsistent.. a couple were ok with small raw spots. My son's burger was barely cooked. Noticed halfway through him eating. Games are cool but way overpriced for an arcade. Cool concept and they definitely have a crowd but for $86 (5 people)... yeah, you can find better.

Nachos

Great options inside the Precarious brewing location. I had the ground beef nachos and my husband had the nacho fries. Both were excellent. No table service so head to the counter to order but they will bring it out. There is also free water if you need it but the beers from precarious were great

Creeper and veggie burger

Overall: 2/5 it does not know its identity. Seemed like it tried to go an old style diner burger yet had fancy modern flavor profiles that did not hit the mark. Food: 2/5 the burgers and fries were not worth it. Above average for price and the amount of food you get. The Creeper meant to be spicy, but completely lacked any heat and couldn't even tell if it had any flavor. The Veggie burger fell apart and somehow was overcooked. The fries were simply crinkle cut and had Cajun/Old bay seasoning for $5. Way overpriced for these! Atmosphere: 3/5 great place to hangout since it's styled like a food hall. They had games, some restaurants, and good seating inside with limited outside. It can get very noisy here. Service: 1/5 not sure if it was the timing of the season and day, but it took an extremely long time to order our food (30 minutes on Sunday around 1300). It then took around another 25 minutes for the burgers to come out.

enu and prices

This is a decent joint. There's a lot going on there, and it's kind of a sensory overload, but the food was decent. It's in a sort of food court, so be aware if you go further in, there's also a brew bar and there is also a taco place. It is not full service. You order at the counter and they give you a pager for when it's ready. If I wanted full service, I'd go to Mellow Mushroom on the other side of the building, but the Burger Bar is a great fallback plan if the wait is too long at Mellow Mushroom.

My amazing burger and fries

The service was amazing and the burgers were perfect. Just perfect, it was not loud and it was very peaceful. I would love to go again

Double smash burger with burnt fries

Burger was average and fries were not good. Half the pieces were overcooked and burnt. I couldn't understand it. I looked at Yelp pics and my fries looked nothing like the ones pictured. Buns on the burger were too dense and stiff too. And it wasn't cheap. I should've listened to the other Yelp reviews but I decided to chance it. I lost.

I forget which one this is, but here's an example of a Smashburger

The staff were very nice and you could tell they all got along very well, we had a few different servers because they were all helping and being attentive. We appreciated that. If we ever did come back (visiting from NC), it would be for that. Negative: the food just wasn't good. It was alright. The gravy wasn't what I was expecting- like thin and watery, which is just a personal preference but it tasted vinegary? . My burger taste wise was good and filling. Cheese was melted and yummy, I did not like the bun, again personal preference and all that. Had the Brussels sprouts for app, partner didn't like it, I believe it was the sauce again vinegary but I didn't mind them. It was a nice surprise. Partner also had chili hot dog which looked amazing ; also just tasted alright. Overall nothing to rave about.

The menu also has so many food options, making it easy to find something for everyone. The food overall was great and very enjoyable. However, I would not recommend the brownie and chocolate sundae dessert. The brownie and cookie were cold and hard, which made the dessert disappointing. On the positive side, the carrot cake was huge and definitely worth sharing -- easily enough for 3-4 people. The service was excellent as well. Our waiter was very attentive throughout the meal and made sure everything was taken care of. Overall, Second Street American delivers great food variety, strong service, and a family-friendly atmosphere, with just a few misses on dessert.

This location, like all of the other others I have visited, clean, welcoming, and the food was delicious. I am originally from California so my go to burger is in and out. I have found here on the East Coast, the staff behind the counter was super helpful as it has been a while since I have been to a Freddy's, the inside of the restaurant was very clean and our food was cooked fresh and came out rather quickly, I would definitely recommend this if you like a good burger and custard.

Low and behold there is a Freddy's in Williamsburg, so we decided to take a little "part-of-the-day trip" to chrck it out. Upon entry, everyone working there greeted us and were super friendly. It was pretty busy in there, and i found the tables and chairs to be super close together and i felt a little claustrophobic. Maybe it was the abundance of the color red. The lady who took our order at the counter was very patient while we figured out the menu, which is mostly smash burgers in a variety of iterations, along with a variety of sides. I ordered a "single cheeseburger " with a side of shoestring fries. The cheeseburger is actually a smashburger that is practically a paper-thin "burger". It was very bland, to be honest. Their burgers, unless otherwise specified, come with pickles, mustard, and onions. The shoestring fries were awesome. Simple, not greasy. My husband got 2 Steakburger Tacos, which he said were "just okay". He also got a side of tots, which he found to be overly greasy. We couldn't leave without trying some of Freddy's Frozen custard. I had a small cone of vanilla, which if blind-taste-tested against McDonald's soft serve, i wouldn't have been able to tell the difference. Which is fine. We also got a chocolate malt shake, which was super good. Was it worth the drive? Meeeeehhh. The best things were the shoestring fries and the milkshake. Oh, they also serve Pepsi products. This is the first time that I have ever seen Pepsi Zero in a soda machine at a fast food restaurant. That was pretty cool. It's the little things. Would we go again? Unless there was a much closer location in RVA, probably not.
