    VA Moonshine Lemonade
    Anna K.

The service, food and atmosphere here is great. They servers are friendly and quick, always making sure your water is topped off and that you have everything you want. As a person who loves malt vinegar, they're quick to bring it out when requested. The VA moonshine lemonade was strong, sweet and tart. It helped cut through the fry and burger flavors. The patty melt was good, though greasy and the brisket burger was rich. Both were cooked very well. The fries are also very good. The sauce that comes with them is reminiscent to Chick-fil-a sauce, which others liked, but I opted for the malt vinegar, which worked better in my opinion. They're cooked in tallow, which gives them a more complex flavor than other fries. The pub cheese was also good. The pretzel topping was odd but the sweet pepper relish was a delicious addition. We wished the pretzels came on the side like the crackers and wished that there were more crackers. It can get a little loud, but that's expected for a place meant for hanging out, having a drink and enjoying good food.

This place was really good. We came in after a long day outdoors and built a hankering for a burger. It's a little retro, which I love. Booths, tables and stools at the bar with good vibes going. We had the Mushroom & Swiss and the Classic Bacon & Cheddar burgers, Farmer's Fries, Fried Pickles and a chocolate Chilly Whippit (not pictured). Everything was really good, and we look.forward to returning and trying more things. Our waiter Samuel was VERY nice, knowledgeable and passionate about what he does. Great attitude and really made the experience even better, considering how tired we were. We'll be back.

    Bacon burger..... mouth watering good!

The food here is EXCELLENT!! My burger was fresh, juicy and had that charred flavor I love. The fries were amazing as well!! Place looked clean and the people were friendly. My only minor complaint is that no one greeted us for about 10 minutes. I almost left, but glad I didn't. To their credit, they were pretty busy, still, passing by without at least saying "we will be with you shortly" ... at least something. I would score this place at a 4 1/2 star if I could. I would definitely go back. My final thought; If you are looking for a fresh tasty burger, give this place a try. I do believe you will be satisfied!!

Pulp Fiction pinball machine and classic 80s arcade games.

My friend recommended Cook's Burger Bar as the best hamburger in Williamsburg, which did not disappoint. A classic American diner, Cook's serves near perfect burgers and fries at very affordable prices. The family all tried different burgers, with Buffalo chicken wings as an appetizer. Amazing! The service was fast and friendly, while the pinball machine and classic arcade games added to the fun vibe and ambiance. If you're in Williamsburg and looking for a classic diner and hamburger, please checkout Cook's Burger Bar.

What do you love about burgers? Well Cooks has figured it out. It's an awesome basic burger, or their brisket burger, or the killer fries. Did I mention the hand crafted cocktails? Oh yes they have them and all the 80's OG beers as well. Didn't know you could still get a Hamms. I really dig the 80's bar theme, I can almost smell the cherry pipe tobacco. Without a doubt the service is top notch! The staff is super warm and eager to serve. If Michelin gave out stars for burger joints they would be a three star.

Still fantastic burgers! New treat - their shakes - ours were delicious and so thick! New specials coming soon as well, like unlimited wings and other bar snacks.

A busy place on Christmas weekend! Nice mix of families and "oldsters."

Cook's is a busy place found on the supposed "quieter" end of Richmond Road. Based on our experience at the restaurant on this Christmas season Saturday, lots of folks looking for good burgers (and more), have made a tasty discovery. We arrived to a very busy restaurant but the "next party waiting" system was well organized throughout our visit. Tables were clean, utensils and condiments were in place...all signs of a well- organized restaurant. With a maximum occupancy of 98 persons, good organization is definitely "a good thing." Williamsburg has more than its share of restaurants that disappoint diners at 50% occupancy...this isn't one of them. FYI re: the menu pricing..."sides" are not included in the price of the burger entrees. Fries and even small- portioned sauces are extra so, for example, the tab for the Build Your Own burger can climb in a hurry. Our food (see photos) arrived quickly and at the temperature ordered. Server (Izzy) checked on us a number of times during our visit and she was extra helpful as our table included 2 small children. Bottom line? I'm recommending Cook's to fellow Yelpers and friends. We'll be back to try other items on the menu as well as specials offered during the week.

My boys and I ate here on a recent stay to Great Wolf Lodge. It did not disappoint. Good quality burgers and good portions for them. Healthy roasted veggie sides for me and a bunless burger. Manager and staff were so nice too. Two thumbs up and you'll be happy you tried it.

I raved about this place to my friend and she really wanted to dine here so my hubby and I came here for the second time. I ordered the same brisket burger, hubby ordered the same but doubled it, and my friend ordered the one with bacon. She also ordered classic fries to which she added more salt. Hubby and I shared the brussel sprouts which were so delicious. We studied the ice cream shakes as there were so many choices as to how to combo each one. She ordered the Strawberry one while I was sinful in my indulgence of the malted one with heath candy bits, whipped cream and caramel. We both felt as if we were transported back to an ole time soda fountain. Highly recommend them! Although our server said he would be replaced by another person, he did stay, as our meals were served promptly especially when the place was packed with happy customers. All the booths were filled with smiling faces so we were seated at a clean table especially with the rapid turnover of customers. One of our favorite places to dine in!

Fries! So many I got these to go.

First of all, this place is super friendly! Second, the burgers are bangin' ! The fries are no joke. My husband says the Patty Melt was the best one he ever had! Very pleased with this entire encounter!

The German Dog had a great combination of sauerkraut and spicy brown mustard, with plenty of topping in every bite. The corn dog was golden and crisp on the outside with a juicy hot dog inside. The restaurant also has a welcoming, family-owned feel that makes the experience even better. A fun local spot with great food and plenty of personality. Let's see how this stop turned out. We were able to get a table during lunch time where there was a good crowd on hand. Since it was the 4th, I expected there would be a few more. The staff was pretty busy taking care of diners and orders ready for takeout. It was a little warm inside, but it wasn't a surprise given the weather was really hot. And there was a fan literally behind is blowing out much needed air. The special they had for the 4th was $2.50 corn dogs and $2.50 PBR beer. We said no to beer, but couldn't resist corn dogs. My order consisted of two of them and a small order of cheese curds. Sophia ordered two corn dogs and a Roadhouse hot dog. This was the first time in a long time I'me had corn dogs so I couldn't resist given the special. And boy did they deliver. I actually started to get full after eating my first one. They were really good and well cooked. And great call to add cheese curds to the meal. Tasted great especially with the sauce. Sophia enjoyed her selections and had leftovers to take home as well. There you have it. Another great lunch for the two of us. We'll be back soon :)

I was tasked with phoning in the reservation (thankfully the meal went better than that debacle)and since we were dining early it wasn't an issue. First of all, there are two places in the property; the Tavern and 5 Fields pizza and beer. We dined at the Tavern. GORGEOUS garden lining the old farmhouse! We went in and were seated inside right away. As it was almost 100 today it was ideal seating. The decore is well.... different. Where we sat was a truck grill from 1928, and there was more of a sports motiff. (If you go and sit in the same room, let me know if you can spot the crooked pic!) Once again, my curse at remembering names of the servers has hit again which is a real sham because she was beyond AWESOME. She was VERY patient with my extremely frustrating mum which was nice. We both got this truly genius idea of an appetizer to start; a veggie boat with a ranch style dressing. Omg it was perfect. Warm day, cruciferous veggies, ice cold drinks. Heaven. Next came the burgers, she got the Tavern burger, I got the Charles City burger. The Tavern has cheddar cheese and bacon, the Charles City has bree cheese and this creamy mojo ajo aoli along with fried shallots....there is probably more but all I know is that I feel like an idiot never having triple creme bree on a burger before.
