They recently released a new menu and I was super excited for it but most of the dishes fell short as well as the customer service! The one standout was their take on a Crunchwrap supreme (their take from Taco Bell and it was good! The chalupas were burnt and hardly had any meat in both of them The chicken was good but when I mentioned that it was overly fried the man behind the counter did not care at all and just looked at me. I just ate the little bit of meat out of it, couldn't even eat the shell! Not worth $8 for one! The other taco was a chicken mole and it wasn't bad but for most street tacos they give you two tortillas to hold it all together. Only one and it all fell apart. Will not be returning! read more

We had a great experience here. It was fun to eat Mexican food and play video games after spending the day at Colonial Williamsburg. I had their crunch wrap, which was really good. I also enjoyed the chips and guacamole. It was a big portion, which was easy to share. The arcade was a lot of fun, and my family had a good time. My son loved playing Mario Kart. It was adequate but nothing to write home about. Mainly I question the value. We were visiting from DC, which is objectively a more expensive area, and yet the price per taco was higher than individual tacos at our favorite taco chain in DC, especially for the shrimp and, especially curiously, the cauliflower. And then the portions of shrimp and cauliflower in those tacos was pretty disappointing. Also, very fried. Nachos and quesadillas seemed like a better value than tacos so, while my husband got the aforementioned tacos, I got the nachos without any added protein. Much better value - huge portion at a small price. Some odd choices though. There was an appropriate amount of cheese (beer cheese, which seemed appropriate given its location inside a beer hall) but a really small amount of other toppings (beans, corn, pico I think?) relative to the huge amount of raw jalapeño slices. The dish relies really heavily on jalapeño for flavor and freshness, and I like jalapeño, but these woud be more appropriately described as "jalapeño and cheese on chips" than nachos, IMO. If you love raw jalapeño you'll be in heaven but for those who are accustomed to jalapeños being an accent, this is A LOT. It was like the primary ingredient after chips, even above cheese. The shrimp was my favorite and the beef isn't too spicy at all. The flavors were flavorful and yummy. I really enjoyed the frozen lemonade as well which had a good texture and frozen appeal. We dined here last night - overall experience was great. The atmosphere, the games and great craft beer were exactly what we were looking for. My husband had one of the best lagers he's had! We ordered from electric circus and our food was good but cold. We had the carne asada tacos, a chicken tinga taco, two street corn and an order of nachos. The flavor of the food was exceptional, it was just quite cold and it really wasn't busy at all. This is one of our favorite places to end a day's historical walking tour of Williamsburg (just be mindful of hours of operation as they may vary from the brewery). Located inside Precarious Beer Project, this is a taco stand/truck with notable vegetarian options! For the meat eaters, we ordered the ancho rubbed chicken wings which were outstanding/OMG good according to my husband and daughter (and nut, egg allergy free). For the rest of us, we started with ECT nachos - the beer cheese was addictive and the sliced jalapeños mild and flavorful. The cauliflower tacos were a big hit and went back for a 4th taco - curry and golden raisins were such an unexpected and delicious combo. The salsas were also surprisingly well paired - carrot ginger (I think) and a green garlic salsa. (Lots of really good thought went into this menu!) My younger daughter was very happy with her quesadilla if you have someone looking for a simpler meal. Only miss was an off menu black bean taco (someone in our party loves black beans). We had a day with nothing planned and decided to head to Williamsburg to enjoy the decorations. Since we got there right at lunch we headed over to the Precarious Beer Hall to grab some tacos. That was great choice. Between three of us we had chips and salsa (the salsa was bland), and then catfish, chorizo, ground beef, carnitas and chicken tacos. The only one of the tacos that wasn't great was the gringa taco - nothing wrong with it, just a little plain. My favorite was the chorizo - spicy and delicious. And the carrot ferment hot sauce was . Pretty reasonable. The beef bulgogi was my absolute favorite! The flavors blended well together. We also had some standard beef tacos, pork carnitas, shrimp, pork belly, papas bravas, nachos and a churro. The nachos were fantastic as well. Staff was helpful, patient and attentive. We love street tacos, and we found some creatively prepared at the Electric Circus Taco Bar, which is located in the Precarious Beer Hall in Williamsburg's Merchants Square. The prices are good, and the atmosphere is lots of fun. They have all types of games to play--like pinball machines, skee-ball, basketball, virtual driving, and more. We ordered and really enjoyed four tacos: catfish, chicken, beef, and smashville hot chicken. The catfish was fried with cabbage and red onion. The grilled chicken was surprisingly cold, though flavorful with pico de gallo, lettuce and cheese. The beef was pretty standard for a beef taco. The smashville was like a Nashville hot chicken sandwich. So yummy!! You can choose from corn or flour tortillas. They also have a station where they offer two salsas--both of which were hot and spicy. You could order any of their many beers and ciders. They also had wine, margaritas, and sodas. Plus, there was a water bottle (or cup) refill station in the restaurant. We went on a January afternoon when William & Mary wasn't back in session yet, and it was pretty quiet. Williamsburg Virginia offers a plethora of food options for locals and visitors alike. Of course, as is usually the case, the locals have the advantage of knowing the best spots. While 'best' is a matter of opinion based on a multitude of factors, I hope to give you an accurate picture of what this restaurant is like, thus allowing you to decide whether to eat there. Firstly, the food was fast. Keep in mind though that my wife and I went around 2pm and, thus, there were not a ton of people. Evenso, we have been here before when it was packed and I fairly clearly recall that our food came out in a timely fashion then as well. Our tacos were also very good. As the pictures of the menus indicate, there are some flavorful options. My one regret is that both of their hot sauce options had soybean oil (at least at the time of my last visit) which I must avoid. Thus, I could not try either. Still, the tacos were stand-alone delicious and, therefore, I will definitely be visiting again. The food was worth it. Lastly, the atmosphere is similar to an arcade/family-geared bar/restaurant - definitely a jovial ambience; keep in mind that it is generally not suitable for quiet conversation unless you find outdoor seating since it can get pretty loud in there. They have signs at the doors to let you know the place is essentially a free-for-all. Find your own table, order beers at the bar and food at the taco stand, which is hard to miss with bright neon signs. They offer a variety of tacos (which you can order as a bowl), sides, sweets and burritos. I opted for the Ropa Vieja (pulled beef) with rice, black beans, queso fresco and cilantro. Hubby had the Cheeseburger in Paradise burrito, which was served with tortilla chips. They have a salsa and utensil bar in a corner near the stand. My bowl was fantastic - full of flavor with just a little bit of heat, my preferred level. Hubby literally called the burrito "the best I've ever had." Our only critique is that the chips were way too salty. The atmosphere itself is great if you want entertainment during your visit - tons of arcade games, air hockey, basketball. We went in early so it was pretty empty but the bartender said it was about to get really busy as we were leaving. Everything was good, there was just one taco we didn't enjoy as much but can't recall which ones we ordered. My daughter was able to change up the salsa for queso and that was very delicious. The Electric Circus Taco Bar is located in the Precarious Beer Hall in Merchants Square. We had some trouble locating it, but making some rounds around the block, we were able to find the entrance - HAHA! Their menu offers various street tacos, snack items (street corn, chips & salsa, etc.), desserts, and beverages (such as Jarritos and margaritas). We ordered: the Korean Pork Belly taco (which came with a sweet soy glaze, pickled carrots and cucumber slaw, and a sriracha aioli); a Stouth Braised Short Ribs taco (with a pickled carrot slaw, scallion pesto, and cilantro); and, a Nashville Hot Chicken taco (with cabbage slaw, hot pickles, and a bleu cheese dressing). The tacos came stacked with the slaw and had a good amount of meat portions within them. Out of the three, the Korean Pork Belly taco was the least favorite, as the pork belly was a little bland and didn't really taste at all 'Korean' - there really wasn't any hint of gochujang or sesame oil. The braised short ribs were so tender and fall-off-the-bone tender. The Nashville Hot Chicken, which I didn't expect much from, actually was my favorite - the chicken was crispy and juicy, but it was definitely on the spicy end! The slaw really complemented all of the tacos very well. We also tried their Electric Churro, covered with ancho chili, cayenne pepper, cinnamon and sugar - I thought the mixture that it was coated with was too thick and wasn't shaken off well - it was a little too much for me. You order up, and then you'll get a text from their when your order is ready. There are plenty of communal tables available to dine in. Most seem to pair their eats with the beer. It seems as if they also have live events - there was a local musician that made the whole dining experience so great! You have to try this place out if you are in downtown colonial Williamsburg! It's one of 3 great dinner options in the beer house / arcade. We ordered a sampling of 6-7 different tacos along with an order of nachos and everything was great. The tacos were fresh and well crafted and developed to maximize texture, flavor, and heat. The fish taco was my favorite but the sweet and crunchy texture in the pork belly was also outstanding. Their house made "Hotter Melon" salsa was fantastic although quite spicy so if you can't handle habanero type heat, I would pass. Otherwise the watermelon based salsa is a great addition. This taco bar is inside a brewery in colonial Williamsburg. Each taco is sold separately and decent sized. The nachos were very large. I ordered the shrimp tacos and really liked them. The chicken with dill was really good too, as long as you enjoy tangy dill. The quesadilla is good and comes with chips, but nothing to dip them in. I wish we would have ordered a side of pico de Gallo or guac. While having our food, I was able to go get a beer from the brewery, since it's all in one large room- Cool atmosphere! read more

My chicken was very crispy and good, but there was more deep fried batter pieces than chicken. The holler back sauce and cabbage slaw were nice compliments. I love a good crunch and tang. I ate some of the super smash bra burrito. It entailed smashville chicken, cabbage slaw, house pickles, rice, pickled black bean, hollerback sauce, and queso. This burrito was ok. There was more rice than chicken. I couldn't really taste the other ingredients with the abundance of rice rolled into the burrito. They do have a salsa bar which is great! The churro was the winner!! It was deep fried perfectly and rolled onto cinnamon sugar. No crevice was missed, and the warm dulce de leche was just wonderful. It was sweet, milky, and thick. I was really excited to try this place, but I have to admit that the food was aggressively mediocre. We tried almost all of the tacos and they just weren't that great. I can't put my finger on it but the beef and chicken tacos were just not tasty. The quesadilla also wasn't very good. The nachos were alright, but nothing particularly special.
