What a great place to eat. Wonderful choice of Beer. Even a Root beer float. Food servings are large. Great concept for this area. You can even drive your golf cart from your place in town.

What a nightmare. The service is horrendous. Honestly, I've never seen a more counterintuitive system. You walk in and there are signs. Grab a menu, seat yourself, order at the bar. Easy enough, right? Wrong! Go up to the bar and wait 5 minutes for someone to acknowledge your existence. There were 4 employees sitting at the bar and one poor girl doing everything. She finally gets to us and doesn't ask if we've been there before. Kind of important when you have such a crazy system. She tells us that they will text us when the food is ready. Doesn't tell us how to pick it up, where to pick it up. So the text comes in and we go to the window, evidently you're supposed to go to a tiny little heating table instead. Didn't really matter because they gave our food to someone else! The food itself was subpar. This is clearly a brew house that happens to serve food. The fish tacos were served on tiny street taco tortillas with one small chunk of fish per tortilla. They also failed to remove all the bones from the stone fish. The burger was cold, dry, small, thin, and tasteless. The fries were cold. Definitely not worth the $40.

Came here for an overnight trip with my best friend. After checking out places to grab something to eat, this place looked like a nice option to have a relaxing informal dinner with a drink. They have a pretty straightforward ordering system. After looking over the menu, you pay for your food at the register, and you're given a buzzer that lets you know when your food is ready to pick up at the counter. I got a pineapple sour, which was pretty good, and a crabcake sandwich with beer battered fries. Also delicious, my crab cake was a little overdone, but I still enjoyed it. I'd def come back here to grab a drink and some food again.

Came down to Cape Charles for the day from Va Beach. We love all the beer. Our favorite is the Assateague Island IPA. They sell it in our Package store at Oceana as well. The clam chowder was yummy and would get it again. The employees are very nice and helpful. Def worth a visit.

We stopped here on our way home from Chincoteague. It was a beautiful November Sunday. We were greeted immediately by the nicest lady!!!! I did not drink beer because I don't like beer and I was driving. But they did have 2 wines. They have menus upon entering and you go to the bar and order. I did order some food and so did both my friends. We got 2 clam chowders and my friend got the Rockfish Tacos but on chips because she has an allergy. They were very accommodating with her allergy. You get a little buzzy thing and you get your food when it's ready. Her tacos on chips looked absolutely delicious!! Our soup was very good too. They had other items such as burgers, salads, desserts and a childrens menu. We sat outside and listened to music. They happen to have live music that day. The staff was very friendly!!!

This was my first time to Cape Charles and just my luck to get a visit in to their own brewery. So I stopped in to try their brews and for some lunch. It was mid week and not too busy. Everyone was in good spirits and the staff were friendly and helpful with the beer selections. I decided to go with the flight and my bf went with the coffee stout. The lunch and the beers were delicious. They have lots of gear to go along with the to go beers so Christmas shopping was a definite. I say give them a try!

Super cute place to enjoy a beer and some food. Indoor and outdoor seating. Live music on the weekends and tips go to local charities during some events. Several beer choices to choose from as well as several food options. The service was quick and the staff were friendly. Outdoors they have kids games and it looks like they have a giant bonfire at times. I would recommend!! Enjoy!

We arrived in CC last week and spent a few days at the marina. Despite the summer heat, we decided to trek over to CC Brewing Company. It was absolutely worth it! As soon as we stepped inside we were greeted by a cool and inviting dining hall along with a fantastic selection of beers. Each brew we tried had its own unique flavor, perfectly crafted to refresh and satisfy after a warm day exploring the area. What truly made the visit five-star was the customer service. Chelsie and Mary were warm, attentive, and genuinely fun, adding a personal touch that elevated the whole afternoon. Being just outside town, the brewery feels like a refreshing mini-escape from the usual Cape Charles dining circuit laid-back, flavorful, and relaxing. We'd definitely recommend making the short trip; it's a great way to cool off, sip something delicious, and enjoy good company. Cheers!

Been going to Cape Charles Brewing Company for years now. It's very cute with good beer flights. My favorite beer is bumpkin pumpkin and they put brown sugar on the rim. The food is also tasty. The nachos are good and the pretzels with the cheese is delicious. They have an outdoor area that they expanded with picnic tables and games like connect four and chess. You order first and they will call you once your food is ready. It's a great ambience and you can bring your dog in the outside area.

We stopped in here after our original lunch plan fell through. We didn't expect much as neither of us are beer drinkers. We were pleasantly surprised by several things. We were greeted by an enthusiastic hostess, that we were pretty sure is also an owner, who gave us a brief rundown and recommended the rockfish sandwich ( this was an excellent suggestion). The bartender is also the server and was very nice and very attentive. I got the rockfish sandwich and the wife got the fish and chips which is also rockfish. Both were delicious but a warning to those who are not familiar- rockfish has a distinct flavor. It's not bad but it isn't the neutral flavor of the standard haddock that is often used in these dishes. Good news too for those that are not beer drinkers- they have a local wine by the bottle or glass and they have a cider on tap. The place is pretty open with a lot of seating options from two tops to the bar to larger tables. If you happen to be in the area swing by and try the fish sandwich. It's worth the time.

Food leaves a lot to be desired but the outdoor space is great, especially for kids. None of the food had much flavor except the ahi tuna sandwich that was waaaaaay over seasoned.

Snacky snack .... perfect, huge basket of homemade onion rings!

We arrived a little early for our reservation, and the staff was incredibly welcoming. They seated us right away and gave us plenty of time to look over the menu without feeling rushed. The food was unbelievably fresh, beautifully prepared, and absolutely delicious! Every bite was fantastic, and the service was exceptional. Friendly, attentive, and genuinely welcoming--it made the entire experience even better. A few tips if you're planning a visit: Make reservations! This place books up quickly. Bar seating is first come, first served, but there are only six seats. There's a beautiful patio overlooking the marina where you can enjoy drinks (no food service on the patio). It's an intimate space with around 10 tables, making for a cozy dining experience. It's a 12-and-up restaurant, perfect for a relaxing date night or an adults-only evening out. It's easy to see why we came back a second time, and it definitely won't be our last! If you're visiting Cape Charles, Hook @ Harvey is an absolute must-visit. We can't wait to return!

While walking along Mason Avenue, I made reservations at The Shanty, and it turned out to be a great choice. The restaurant is just a short stroll from the main shopping area, down by the docks. You can park for free along Mason Avenue or drive directly to The Shanty, which has its own parking lot. One of the highlights was enjoying fresh seafood on the open-air porch with beautiful waterfront views. The atmosphere was relaxed, charming, and perfectly summery. They also had plenty of options for the kids, including mac and cheese and chicken fingers, so everyone was happy. I ordered the fish tacos, while my mom enjoyed the seafood chowder and a wedge salad. Everything was fresh, flavorful, and exactly what we were hoping for after a day exploring Cape Charles. If you're visiting the area and looking for a casual waterfront meal with great seafood, a family-friendly menu, and a fun coastal vibe, The Shanty is definitely worth a visit.

The Shanty is not a large restaurant, but it has an amazing bar and great views from their deck on the bay. The service was great and our server created a "no rush" just sit back and relax vibe, even though they were busy. The drink menu has a nice selection of cocktails. My wife, an orange crush connoisseur, said the Shanty's crush was very good! They also have a nice beer selection including local area craft beers. The Frogman Lager on the menu has been one of my favorites when I visit VA, so it was nice to see on the menu. We started off with a 1/2 dozen local oyster, which were nice and sweet. The crab dip was amazing and full of crab! We split the shrimp Po-boy. The sandwich was loaded with plump tasty shrimp on an amazing roll. Typically, in beach towns the shrimp Po-boys are skimpy on the shrimp, but not at the Shanty. Overall, a great visit and a place we'd return.

Made my way inside and from the moment I entered I knew it was a locals and I was welcomed. I started with a Rolling Rock in a bottle not an oil can. Not even looking at the menu I ordered a cheeseburger and fries. The bartender even read some specials to me but no I didn't take her advice. She had mentioned spaghetti and meatballs w/garlic bread. The burger take a bit to cook, it was a fat one. The burger arrived and it looked great w/LTO. Then someone ordered the special and it came out. Don't get me wrong the burger was grand but I did just have a burger the day before and spaghetti and meat balls looked better. Next time I'll listen. The burger was cooked properly and the fries were crisp and puffy. I would order again for sure. Lesson learned, take the special when out of town. Peace.
