Food took awhile, but I'd rather wait than get microwaved food cooked ahead of time. Staff was very nice. Atmosphere is exactly what you'd expect/what it should be. All the food was delicious. The beer cheese was exceptional. Love their bread. The spatzle is nothing exceptional, but is it ever? The Chicken Schnitzel Cordon Bleu was exceptional. And the bites of sausages offered by my husband were delicious. We'll be back!

The honey pecan chicken was good! A bit sweet, but not overwhelmingly so. The potatoes were a good addition but not super flavorful. Our server was great but we were there for over an hour at lunch on a Friday because it took so long to order and receive our food. Others at my table enjoyed several types of sausages!

In terms of atmosphere, this is about as authentic old school (southern) German as you can get. It looks like Bavaria circa 1950. German yodeling music was playing in the background. The service was provided by a wonderful waitress in a traditional dirndl dress and she did a great job, including answering questions about the menu items and their selection of beer (they have several German beers both on draft and imported in bottles). Throughout our meal she made sure we had everything we needed. She started with a bread service of rye and pumpernickel that tasted like homemade. So good! For entrees we had King Ludwig chicken and chicken Berlin. The former is chicken cordon bleu with a cream sauce and the latter is a breaded chicken schnitzel covered with Jarlsberg cheese, sauteed onions and rings of sliced apple. Both were good, but could have used more seasoning or something to bring out the flavors, as they were both fairly one-note in terms of taste. As sides we had warm German potato salad (good) and fried potatoes (just okay). The star of our sides was red cabbage, which in their recipe manages to find just the right balance between sweetness and vinegar-based tartness. The portions were large enough that unfortunately we had no room for dessert, as they had several baked items that looked tempting. Overall this is a good place for an authentic German meal at reasonable prices.

I was excited to try the Ol'Heidelberg cafe and was looking forward to enjoying some German food. The ambience was cozy and you definitely feel like you are transported to a German like place. We had a wonderful waiter who served us. Loved the bread that was served at the table. All of our food was good, too. I was disappointed that there wasn't Bavarian pretzels, or apple strudel. I learned that their desserts aren't made in house, which is fine- but if you are looking for traditional German desserts for after dinner, you may look elsewhere. I order the pork schnitzel, red cabbage, and spatzel with gravy. Everything was good and cooked well. I just didn't have anything that made me want to come back again.

OMG Where do I begin??? I spent my entire childhood in Germany, my entire family was originally born in Germany. So to say I've eaten my share of German food is a massive understatement. My mother still cooks German food when I visit and this food rivals it. Please don't tell my mom. But this food was a solid 10/10 and I'm a ridiculously picky eater. I live 3 hrs away and will be making a road trip back there very soon. Try this place... You will not be disappointed

Amazing restaurant with some history, interior is lovely. Our waitress was so friendly and had great food recommendations. We shared a bottle of Merlot, very reasonably priced, and all of our food was amazing especially the schnitzel. We will definitely be regulars here. Desserts are also perfect.

Sausage Platter appetizer with sauerkraut! Chicken Cordon Blue was amazing with fried potato's.

Craving German food and decided to stop in here. The staff was very accommodating and the food outstanding. Brought back memories of our trip to Germany! Excellent German Food. A bit chilly in the restaurant but also seating outdoors if you didn't bring a sweater!

My whole family liked this place!! We went for both Father's day for Hubbie and for my son's Birthday! I liked the ambiance. I meant to take more pics of that but I only have two:( Was hungry forgive me !!! So we got all three apps(We splurged baby) Escargot in garlic butter, a sausage sampler, and a portobello app. We got 2 different wines and a beer for my hubbie . Hubbie and I both got the Bavarian pork schnitzel . I got Spaetzle for my side and purple cabbage. The Spaetzle comes with gravy. My son got a humongous Reuben sandwich. He likes sandwiches what can I say. Everything was very tasty, the waiter was nice and everything came pretty fast We were there right as they opened 10:42 am . We got 3 different desserts - Red Velvet parfait, Apple pie for hubbie, snd a Raspberry Lemon drop parfait. We had to ask if they had desserts and what they had. It was not on the menu! Maybe it varies . They do have them in a case by the register All in all everything was Perfect and We all ate well and loved it! By the way this restaurant has been going for 52 years!! What?!! Yep you know you gotta bring it to stay successful that long!! They did :) So SUPERGLAD to find German food in Alabama. We had to go all the way to Pigeon Forge to get some previously!! If You Like German food or like to try different cuisines make a visit. Oh and the girls wore German costumes!! This is a Gem in Alabama for sure!! Look at my pics but I was very hungry and nibbled a bit before remembering to take pics lol sorryxx

The food here is good but the portons are half the size of other German restaurant I have been to. The wait staff is quickie, fun and tries to make your meal enjoyable. The owner don't keep up the place the beer taps where broken and the restroom was in poor shape. When you go to German restaurant the first thing you want is a German Tap Beer. I will save my German restaurant experience for Helen Georgia.

    Spaetzle was hot.

Best German menu! We drive from Birmingham to eat here. All schnitzels are great. I've had each one. German potato salad is excellent.

This Filipino-inspired coffee shop offers a warm, welcoming atmosphere, excellent service, and drinks that stand apart from the typical chain coffee experience. Our family sampled three beverages: the Salted Caramel Kape, a Kape Kape with added caramel, and an Ube Kape. Every drink was smooth, flavorful, and expertly prepared. For food, my wife and I ordered the pork siopao while Bethany chose the chicken siopao. Both arrived piping hot, with soft, pillowy buns and savory fillings that paired perfectly with the coffee. The service was friendly, the ambiance inviting, and every item we ordered exceeded expectations. It's refreshing to find a local café that executes both beverages and light bites so well. Best of all, this was one of the places Bethany most wanted to experience during our trip to Huntsville, and it did not disappoint. Kape Tayo delivered memorable coffee, delicious siopao, and an experience that left all three of us wanting to come back. If you're in Huntsville and appreciate unique coffee shops, this one deserves a spot on your itinerary.

I paid $8.51 (before tip) for a large Buko Pandan, and for the price point expected a lot more to drink. Most of the coconut jellies and tapioca pearls fell to the bottom of the drink underneath the ice. In addition, I'm not sure if there's just a lot of Pandan dye that was used but the interior of my mouth was pretty green after finishing the drink. If there's a way to get less ice, I'd prefer that.
