Long-time Certified Massage Therapist on Kauai for vacation and really needed to get some body work done so I could truly relax and enjoy myself. Went to Yelp to check out the therapists in/near Kapaa and found this place. (Also, see my review of Michael Massage). I had Elionne and my wife had (sorry I don't remember her name) an awesome therapist, too. Both gave excellent pressure based on our feedback and needs, but weren't so chatty that we couldn't relax. Pretty sure I fell asleep and may have drooled a little bit, lol. The massage area is spotlessly clean, the tables were set to comfort perfection, the price was totally reasonable (in massage, you truly get what you pay for) and both therapists knew their stuff. Honestly, the massage I got here was the best massage I've ever had. I wasn't sure what to expect but I decided to try Ola Massage since the reviews were positive. Booking the appointment by phone was very easy and they were friendly, upfront about pricing, and super nice. This place is probably the definition of unassuming. It's tucked in the corner of a strip mall, next to Tiki Tacos. The waiting room is very small and humble, they still take appointment requests via an appointment book. If you're from the mainland, don't expect this to look like Massage Envy. It's more like a mom and pop business on the inside. Filled out the usual paperwork and was then taken into the massage room by Deeanna, my massage therapist. The rooms are separated by curtains, not walls. But it wasn't an issue as I knew the other person getting a massage at the same time as me. Once the massage began, I was in heaven. They use warm massage oil and the pressure and intensity of the massage was perfect. I'm always trying to get a good deep tissue massage and it seems impossible to find but now I know I'll have to come to Kauai for the perfect massage! Or at least I can think wishfully. Deanna just seemed to sense problem areas that I wasn't even aware of and it felt like all my tension just melted away. It was a nice mix of stretching and deep pressure. But I also knew I could communicate if ever anything didn't suit me. Luckily, it all suited me wonderfully. If I lived on Kauai, I'd be here every week! Highly recommend. read more

After two days of hiking, my husband and I are a bit sore and tired so we really want to have a massage. We came across this Ola Massage and booked a two hour massage appointment on same day notice and they were able to take us which was great. Don't let the outside of this place fool you. It is a small place with only three massage tables and separated by curtains, however, it is very clean, neat, and warm-welcoming. Best of all. The massage was very relaxing and relief all that tension from the hiking. Good quality massage at reasonable price. Will come back if I go to Hawaii again. read more

I called in the morning and they were able to fit me in the same day which was great because my back was knotted up, but the overall quality of the experience was below average, especially for the price of $80 + $10 tip. People giving this place five stars must be crazy lol. It's not even equivalent to a massage envy. It's a small hole in the wall in a dingy old building. My massage therapist was an older lady, like grandma old, who did not have the strength to get deep into my back. She was a nice lady, but it was a weak massage. Big waste of $90. read more

After quite a search for a chiropractor (see my review of Swell Chiropractic) and had NO luck at all, I called Ola and when I received their voice mail, I just hung up (because I had left so many messages at other offices and never received a return call). My auntie and I went here in Kapaa office for a 2 hr massage the day after our arrival on island. We were seen at the same time with a curtain separating us so each of us had privacy. Relaxing music playing, clean bathrooms, clean office, used coconut oil. I had a 2 hr pregnancy massage with Elaina and was NOT disappointed. Normally when I get pregnancy massages I am always disappointed as people treat me like I am breakable and dont really work out all the tension or aches that pregnancy causes! Not this, it was one of the BEST massages I have had in my life and I get massages at least once a month if not more. I really loved the deep, firm pressure for the whole 2 hrs! The pressure was consistent, flowed very well and hit all the right spots and some I didnt even know needed it. I am now going to request some of Elaina's moves from my monthly massage therapist I see at home. I seriously had such a great massage I never wanted it to end and wished that Elaina was in Seattle so I could see her regularly. My auntie who is 69 years old also loved her massage from Elionne. She keeps speaking of it to this day. We highly recommend both ladies, totally worth the time and money. We were so relaxed and recharged for the rest of our trip. My husband and were a day away from leaving Kauai and knew a massage would spell as an amazing exit to our wonderful weeks in Hawaii. The rates at our hotel were ridiculous so we turned to yelp. We found Ola and were able to get an appointment later that day. It's extremely reasonable so we chose the $105 90 minute sessions. The place is located in a small strip mall. It's all no frills but the women are nice. My husband had the deep tissue which was $15 more, which we found out when checking in. The massage for me flew by. I got a bit distracted at once point to the sound of children playing outside in the parking lot, which I could hear from the room I was in. I still felt relaxed but my only other complaint would be there was a lot of oil used. After we were going right to dinner and I felt slick. Hey it helped my tan though! My husband said his deep tissue was really good. The girl he had, while small in figure, gave heavy pressure. Overall for these 2 massages we'll round to 4 stars. read more

Was staying in a hotel very close by, so while out walking we decided to stop in. Ola Massage had very good reviews and thought it was worth a try. The reviewers were right. We were able to get in later in the day and it was worth every penny. I had a massage therapist named Jill and even though it was the first time visiting the studio and having Jill, she was able to immediately pinpoint where my sore spots were and worked those areas. I did feel a bit beat up afterwards, but in a good way. It was exactly the massage I needed. I had a 60 minute session and wished I would have booked for a longer one. I've had numerous massages, and this definitely ranks near the top. The studio isn't much to look at from the outside and is even less so on the inside. There are two "rooms", which are basically curtain divided. So you can hear the other conversation going on in the other "room". However it is quite muffled, so it's not like its all audible, or that you are eavesdropping in on a conversation. The studio is clean and that is probably one of the more important priorities. Even though the highway is close by, I didn't hear the noise from the road at all. The cost was reasonable. More that what I would pay at home. However most things on Kauai have a premium price. When I'm back on Kauai, I'll definitely look at booking another appointment at Ola. read more

I called Friday morning and left a message to see if I could come in sometime that day for a 90 minute massage. Susan called back within 20 minutes and was able to fit me in at 12:30. It's not a fancy place with Vichy showers and lounges but it is a great place to get a great massage at a reasonable price. $105 for a 90 minute massage. The atmosphere was clean and peaceful. I went there when I was on the island 7 years ago and will most likely go again before we leave. read more

I have never felt so violated and disrespect by Massage Therapists. My husband and I both had 90 Min massages here. Their website says nothing about Reiki or Lomi Lomi. Once we arrived I saw flyers in the office adverting those treatments. Once I was taken back to what they call a room. It's an area made up of curtains. I respectfully asked the Therapist to not do those treatments on me, that I wasn't comfortable with it and please don't do it. She got an attitude. I asked if the Therapist working with my husband did those modalities as well so I went back to the waiting room to inform that Therapists we aren't comfortable with that. That Therapist had the nerve to laugh in my face. If we weren't in so much Pain I would have walked out. I should have walked out. The Therapist I was with made me eat a piece of Salt saying she wouldn't massage me and won't massage anyone if they don't eat the salt. Something that isn't on their website or on any of their paperwork. Her massage was horrible. She ripped through the knots in my shoulders causing so much pain. I repeatedly told her to let up on the pressure. I know she did some Reiki on me because she was doing some weird motion. Then while on my back she kept rubbing her hands together and holding them over my head. She only stoped after I opened my eyes and asked what she was doing. This place is a joke and they should be shut down. How dare they force people to do things they aren't comfortable with. I was violated against my will. I was so upset upon leaving I didn't even think to get the Therapists name. I wish I would have so i could report her to the ethics board. read more

I slept on my neck wrong and couldn't turn my head. Pretty miserable being on vacation and having neck pain. Prayed to find a good place to get a massage. Called Ola and she was able to get me in in just a few hours. Magical!!! She was so intuitive. Gentle but firm. This sounds weird but I described it to my husband as Hawaii dance massage. This review is long overdue. We were out on island back in June for our babymoon. I had the most amazing prenatal massage. This is a no-frills place, clean and comfortable. I've had other prenatal massages and it feels mostly like someone is rubbing oil on vs. an actual massage. At Ola the pressure was firm and perfect and she knew exactly how to work on the areas where my muscles had been tight from carrying baby. Elly was my massage therapist and let's note that this was my first full body massage ever. Never got a massage in my life so it was going to be very interesting to see what it was like for the first time. When I got there, elly checked me in and she was the sweetest. Once I got into the back it was small but I'm not a person to care so much about the size of the area but the feel of the ambiance and it was very peaceful and zen. Elly was amazing and I really enjoyed the service! One thing I can advice to first timer massage clients is to not sit up too quick as I did and felt really light headed. Got a relaxation massage while on vacation. Therapist Avril was attentive, responsive and adapted to several requests during the massage. The studio has room for two therapists/clients divided by thin curtains. If you need sound privacy this may be uncomfortable for you, didn't matter to me.
