Olathe is what most considered to be a cross between a suburb and a rural city, and with these types of cities comes a lot of mom and pop shops and hole in the wall establishments. Olathe West Vet Clinic definitely falls into the mom and pop category with its old skool vibe. His clinic has been around for a long time and here is why: Location: The name says it all. The clinic is located on Parker Street near Santa-Fe (135th street) and K-7 Highway. It's an older clinic that has been around for years. Customer Service: 9/10 Dr. Warwick is a seasoned gentleman and you can tell he's been doing this for a very long time. His bedside manner is superb and he is very kind. He explains things well and is not out to get you for your money. His front desk staff are also very nice and attentive. It is easy to schedule an appointment and we never have to wait long to get our pet in for care, especially for non-routine visits. He listens to us well and takes our concerns seriously. No Frills: 9/10 There are a lot of fancy, upscale, trendy vet clinics that are in Olathe that charge more for vet care. Dr. Warwick may not have the newest, fanciest vet clinic but his prices are reasonable and he's always been available when we called the clinic for questions or concerns. We previously went to VCA and we spent a lot more there for routine care versus Dr. W's office. They are old school and do a lot by phone, so be prepared for that. Overall: 9/10 Dr. W is a kind man who loves what he does. We always get the best care for our pet when we come here. It's not expensive and it's easy to make an appointment. I do recommend Dr. W for your vet needs!

Just a random hole in her body. When asked about it Dr. Warwick said she had a mole. That is false. That looks like a stab wound to me.

The first time he got into some sort to tiff with another dog and ended up with a cut above his eye. No one said anything to me about it when we left and I didn't notice it until we put him in the car. I came back in and they then addressed it and explained what happened. "It stopped bleeding but if it looks worse let us know." Gee thanks for your empathy and concern. The second time (and reason I will not recommend or use them again)they brought him out from daycare/boarding. They didn't have him on a leash and he surfed the counter and ended up spraining his front leg. I believe he also caught a virus there (but no way to prove this). I ended up taking him to the vet the following Monday as he was vomiting and limping. When we came back the following Saturday I brought a copy of his vet bill and asked them to reimburse them for 1/2 of his check up and his anti-inflammatory meds. Their response was sheer agitation and after giving me attitude their only response was to offer a free day of daycare or to put it towards future training (ridiculous). I felt this incident was handled in a very unprofessional manner and was met with hostility by the manager for even requesting this. They should be glad he wasn't injured worse! Which brings me to training. I felt that our trainer was very nice, but not very organized. I asked multiple times throughout our puppy course to get a list of the things we needed to work on throughout the week. I asked to be emailed the things we missed one week....no emails. We were also supposed to be emailed our "graduation day" photos. Never emailed. We had 2 puppies in the class and they are pretty closely bonded and I felt they didn't get much out of class at the same time. There was an earlier morning class and in hindsight I felt like a good trainer would've strongly suggested splitting up our puppies. Also if you ever watch the dogs on camera it seems like there are at least 20-30 dogs in each group for a small area with 1 person watching maybe sometimes 2. This seems very unsafe even though dogs are tested prior to being allowed into groups. Accidents can still happen. The place is very pricey...like most of its main competitors. 0 stars

I walked in about 1pm on Saturday 7-11, and there was a 16 or 17 year old girl behind the counter. No one else in sight. She was on her phone and I walked up to the counter and stood there for at least 30-40 seconds before she bothered to look up. When she finally spoke she said "yeah, who are you here for." I said I had come in to get information and she just stared at me. I said " is this what you call customer service?" She just said "sorry" and literally check her phone again in front of me. I would NEVER trust my beloved dogs with a person like this - and no one else was within sight the whole time. How could I trust this place? I don't even have the words to describe how much I love Dogtopia, but I'll try my best to get all…read moreof my feelings into this review. Our dog is a rescue and is very anxious and skiddish. Taking her anywhere is a terrifying experience because we don't know how she will react and if she will spend the next few days avoiding us or refusing to eat. We decided we want to start taking her to daycare occasionally to try to help with her comfort level when we aren't around, especially if we ever have to board her for a weekend. When we brought her to Dogtopia for her interview she was instantly comfortable because of the staff knowing how to handle anxious dogs. We were able to watch on the cameras as she was introduced to the other dogs in the Gym. As we expected, she watched from the perimeter as other dogs played. (Having the cameras is the best, I'm so thankful Dogtopia has them to ease my worrying mind). Her first full day, she started off watching the other dogs, mostly hanging by the human in the room but still running away from the human if she ever tried to pet her. Toward the end of the day she started thinking about playing with other dogs, as she would walk up to them but then immediately run away if they reacted to her being there. The next time we sent her, she actually played with some of the other dogs. Any time the dogs got a little rough, the human would break them apart quickly. Now, after a few weeks of sending her to Dogtopia, we have a completely different dog. She is so much more confident and we have had no issues with her not eating her food due to anxiety. She seems so happy when we pick her up at the end of the day. If we ever go anywhere and have to board her, I won't send her anywhere else. Taking her to Dogtopia has been the best decision we have ever made and I have been spreading the word like wildfire to friends and coworkers. Not only are their prices great and facilities clean, the staff is incredible and well-trained to know how to care for all types of dogs with all types of personalities. Thank you, Dogtopia!!
