Many people are enjoying the morning sun ( strollers , wheelchair users, summer campers , basketball players , tennis players etc ) The walking trails are very smooth and pretty landscapes to circle around the park. There are two playgrounds for toddlers and older kids . A dog parks with fence and some dogs slides for fun . A few big dogs are walking around and rest on the lawn . I am lucky enough to capture the hummingbirds and two squirrels running up the tree . There are lots of picnic tables next to BBQ grilled . They have public restrooms. Lots of free parking on the tennis court area and the park entrance area . Everything is so beautiful and I enjoy my leisure walk very much .

Picnic tables scattered throughout the park, with lots of beautiful trees providing shade over most of the park. There are two adjacent playground areas. One side has a large caterpillar to climb on, along with a dinosaur teeter-totter and baby swings (only, no regular swings) The other side has another big playground structure, along with this rock formation that wraps around it. My kids mainly enjoyed climbing the rock formation that had little 'caves' that they played house in forever! Basketball courts, tennis courts as well. The only awful thing about this park is how absolutely vile the bathrooms smelled, like worse than most porta-potties.

The little ones playground is at one end and the bigger kids' playground is by the basketball court. The little ones playground has swings, some climbing items, slides. There was something you can put the little one and spin in like a chair but my other half said it is really heavy and even hard to spin for him. There was a round swing but it's chained to the ground so I saw no point to that item. The big kids' playground was nice. Looks newer and maintained better than the little ones' playground. It has a lot of climbing parts. It only has one small slide a little one can get onto by climbing stairs. In order to get to the second level that has the slides you have to climb ladders. It's an okay park if you have an older child. So so for a little one. Had more fun looking at squirrels.

I was surprised to find this playground just one block away from the impressive Casa Verde park. This park is much smaller in size, but there is still plenty of sidewalk and grass to enjoy along with the playground, picnic tables with bbq, and giant trees. The playground has one tall structure, a climbing tower, and a swing set with standard swings only. The structure has three slides each from a different level, a short sidewinder, a spiral, and a very tall long sidewinder. Connecting each level are colorful plastic steps reminding me of a staircase. There are also basic steps, ladders, bells (that are oddly positioned and hard to ring... you have to wedge your arm through a banister of the staircase), and the cutest little hidden turtles. We spent a good deal of time on the playground but we brought our bikes/ scooters with us this day and it was just the second time with the pedal bike for brother. He was so excited to ride the many well-kept sidewalks that circle the park and connect through for varying routes. Union City has really great bike-friendly parks. On the opposite end of the playground, there is a small ball field. Across the street from the park is an exercise station. This park has no bathrooms or parking lot. Street parking is easy. For closest to playground park on San Andreas Dr. Don't miss the poky trees (and definitely don't fall off your bike/scooter onto them )

There's also a basketball court and a community center, which makes the park useful for different kinds of events. The playground area is decent, especially for kids. I noticed the padding looks like it was recently redone, which is nice. The play area has a little wall climber, slide, pole, and stairs. I do think the wood around the slide area could use some updating because it looks kind of old, and the slides seem extremely high, which I think should be changed or made safer. The bathrooms are currently being redone, so that's good to see. Overall, it's a decent park with good space and activities for families.

The park has improved over the years since they added bleachers at the parking lot as well as renovating the playgrounds. It's not really a big park but it's convenient for those who live really close to it. They have a building called Irvington Community Center, which I think is a place for children's activities. There is another building which is small. I think it was supposed to be a library, but is recently closed. Right next to it is the ballot drop box, where I usually go to drop my ballot envelope. Nothing much changed overall but it's good to reminisce the memories I have going here when I was a kid.

a review from @amom2kidsandapark…read more It was hot today and this park seemed like the perfect destination...sea breeze, amiright? No. No, I'm wrong. There's a large man-made hill between the park and the shore blocking any and all "sea breeze". With zero to no shade over the structure, it's safe to say we didn't stay here long. The park is pretty large with two ball fields and plenty of grass in between (no permanent outfield boards so it's essentially a huge open field with some dirt and a backstop on either corner). The entire park has paved sidewalks all around, especially near the playground where the sidewalks weave in and out of picnic tables and a man-made grove of small/someday giving shade trees. That's one thing this park really has going for it, there's a lot of trees. The play structure is in a circle format with bridges or a crawl tunnel connecting platform to platform. This format really allows for younger children not yet ready for the suspended lily pads or monkey bars to have fun and enjoy the entire structure. There are three slides (sidewinder, tube, double), steps, various ladders, activities, and the before mentioned crawl tube that can almost act as a fourth slide because of the angle. No swings or playground extras. While there is a parking lot and bathroom it couldn't be any farther from the playground. We parked on Point Lobos Ct which is much closer to the playground but we still had to walk a few minutes to get to the playground since it's tucked in the back corner. This park is great for biking and scootering or even stroller walks since it has a lot of long sidewalks.

There were multiple picnic areas with tables and benches available, where I was able to enjoy a meal before exploring the different pathways winding through the park. Found a cypress grove, several ponds, the alameda creek, and a large grassy field. A busy tennis court as well, brightly lit after dark. A playground next to the parking lot, and a restroom conveniently located nearby too. I appreciated the scenery and peaceful atmosphere, along with the occasional squirrel scampering by, during my time here on this beautiful summer evening.
