I finally came by when this place was open for walk-up sales and free espresso. Today's sample was a dark roast Kenya AA, a strong but not bitter coffee. I chatted with the owner Seth who is passionate about his beans. I enjoyed the taste even without cream. I asked for him to grind the Guatemala coffee that I bought for a friend. He gladly complied. He removed a few bad beans as he poured the bag of beans into the grinder and grabbed another handful of beans to replace the beans he took out. I hope to sample more of his coffee. read more

I ordered coffee beans. I have not been in person. There is currently a free shipping deal with a 2-pound order. Great pricing even without the deal. Seth offered to talk coffee over the phone when I had a question. Best customer service there! They have a sampler of 4 different half-pound bags, whatever is roasting that week. I've ordered that twice and been happy both times. I ordered that for 2 friends. There is a gift service on the website. It emails the recipient either upon shipment or delivery saying who the gift is from. It's very useful. I ordered a pound of the Brazilian coffee beans, but they don't always have those. (selection changes often) it is my number one favorite coffee yet. Recently I ordered 2 pounds of the Thanksgiving blend. That was on special. There is a coffee subscription, but I'm not ready for that yet. Seth is a magician at using the smallest shipping container. He gets 2 pounds in a flat flat-rate priority mail envelope! I just wanted to say that I visited Old Bisbee roasters in January of 2022 for the first time and bought a couple bags. Since then I've become a subscriber and I gotta say every single coffee I've tried is amazingly delicious, fresh and just absolute perfection. Now let me explain something. I order and purchase from many roasters all across the US and I'm very picky. I can tell quality right away and I appreciate a coffee that makes me go "Ahhhhhh, there it is" at the first sip. I get that from Old Bisbee consistently and at this point I've bought at least a good 10lbs minimum from them. I have some favorites but the nice thing is that Seth always has something new to offer I've yet to try and I gotta try them all. I've turned a few other coffee lovers on to them as well and appreciate the excellent prices, free s&h (if you order 2lbs minimum) and that he supports small farms. I live about 2,000 miles away and there are likely that many coffee roasters between Bisbee and my House... Still, this is my go to place for coffee. Seth, Naomi and Shayna (spelling) are always roasting up and shipping some of the best, tastiest and freshest beans anywhere. When I am not in Bisbee, we use our subscription. When we are in town, we stock up. If you stop in, you will find some great, down to earth people. On this trip, my mother and I drove in from Phoenix. We called ahead to make sure they would be open. Seth was happy to keep the door open for us. We pulled in and were quickly welcomed into the establishment. Seth gave us a tour of the pallets of new coffee that just came in. Dr. Long, the dentist from next door, walked in with some Cognac XO. I guess it was happy hour at Old Bisbee Roasters. Dr. Long poured some glasses for me, Seth and my mother. It was an awesome treat! After much chit chat, we walked out with 10lbs of coffee. I had an espresso of Ethiopian and it was so damned tasty!!!! Stumbled across this quaint local coffee roaster in the Hippie capital of Arizona - maybe the world. I am both a coffee snob and a coffee whore. If there is good coffee available, I'm all in and refuse to compromise. However there have been times when reheated truck stop coffee was the best I could do, and I did it. I'm not proud. HOWEVER - there is no compromise here. He gave me a shot and I was hooked, like a junkie. My arms itch when I cant get this stuff. So bold, so smooth, so rich - so unlike my ex-husband. Those of you reading my reviews know that I appreciate good coffee. It's what I call an inexpensive luxury. Yes it costs more than supermarket coffee, but it's a wonderful treat to give yourself for not much more money. This one is a particular favorite of mine for two reasons. It's truly artisanal in that the owner runs it and make sure it all goes well. He's a nice guy and most importantly this coffee can be bought at Whole Foods markets and it's less expensive than those other artisanal coffees I enjoy. You should give it a try. read more

I'm not as active on Yelp as I used to be (my local Yelp community is awful), but I had to leave a positive review for this place. I was visiting family in Douglas and wanted to walk around Bisbee a bit, having already seen Tombstone (which you should also check out). Pretty much the word coffee is going to catch my eye and we happened to walk by this place and were greeted by the owner. Just FYI it isn't a coffee shop really. While he does sell brewed coffee there, this is a brick and mortar building for his mail business. We were greeted by the owner, Seth, and offered a free Burundi espresso. Even though you could tell he was in the middle of something, he stopped and made time for us and chatted up my kids. Superb in every respect. I'm a bit of a coffee fanatic, and I've tried roasters from coast to coast. The coffees from Old Bisbee are an order of magnitude finer than any other I've sampled. Seth seeks out the finest small batch coffees in the world, with an ever changing selection. The beans are small batch roasted, and his employees are trained to sample the beans as the roast progresses to stop the process when peak flavor is achieved. The coffee always brews rich and think. I've seen a two finger crema evolve in a large french press, and I've seen espresso shots pour pure cream. I served these roasts in a Tucson restaurant for some time and developed a devoted breakfast clientele until the owner opted for a less expensive bean elsewhere.
