Everything I said in my prior review stands. A week ago, I got a very nice email apologizing, promising some free coffee as a an apology gift. They did send free coffee. To the wrong address, an address I haven't been at for almost three years. It's almost too ironic. I replied to the email alerting them to the issue. Two weeks on, no reply. This, I'm afraid, perfectly captures how this business has changed since Seth himself distanced himself from the mail order side. I wish them the best. But there are a lot of mail order coffee services out there. And most of them manage to get coffee to the right address, more often than not. Visit them in Bisbee. Join a different coffee club. I buy locally from OBR on a regular basis. I have been roasting my own beans with homemade, self-engineered roaster (that I'm in the process of patenting) for about 9 years so I usually get green beans from them. That being said, I do occasionally buy roasted beans from OBR bc they are truly masters of their craft. I'm very particular about my roasting process and have acquired many secrets that I share with very few (some with no one) so for me to pay extra for roasted beans when I have the option of getting them green and doing it to my own personal taste says allot. I've consumed oceans of coffee in my lifetime, and this is as good as it gets. We could smell the aroma of roasting coffee as we were walking down the sidewalk (and were almost hit by an out of control car that jumped the sidewalk, but that's another story), and followed our noses to Old Bisbee Roasters. Seth is roasting in the front room and directed us to an adjacent room to sample freshly roasted coffee. We tried 3, all brewed right in front of us in espresso form. The barista was very knowledgeable and told us many facts about each of the coffees we were tasting. In the end we settled on Sumatra Organic Mandheling .Of course I had to buy a pound. It is out of this world delicious....I'll be ordering on line in the near future. Oh, our barista took us to the back room where the coffee was being packed for shipping. Found this place while visiting Bisbee. Tried some coffee at a local B&B there, and it was fantastic, so I asked the source and was pointed here. I went in and sampled several types of coffee (gratis), assisted by the very friendly and helpful staff. I fell in love with a bean called Bali Blue Krishna, and that's all I drink now. Service on the phone and online, like in person, is always impeccable. Case in point: Once I called when Bali Blue Krishna was not available and was encouraged to order another bean. I did not like the other bean as much. No questions asked, and free of charge, Seth replaced my coffee with Bali when it was available and told me to keep the other with his compliments. Shipping is free for 2 pounds or more and takes only 2 days for me in CA. Roasting is exceptional. Head and shoulders above typical roasters. I've only met its equal 2 other places: one in Eugene, Oregon, that does not accept individual orders; the other in Whitehorse, Yukon Territory, Canada, which is too far to make it cost effective for me. In any case, coffee roasted this well, once I'd tried it, redefined my definition of good coffee. And now I'm a hopeless coffee snob. read more

I drink a lot of coffee. I live in LA, where you can get really good coffee in a lot of places. I travel to SF somewhat regularly, too, and you can find even better coffee all over the place there. When I tried a free shot of Seth's coffee I was blown away by it. Hands down the best coffee I've ever tasted. Luckily you can order online, since I don't live in Bisbee. Simply the best. You absolutely will not find better coffee. This is craft roasted, small batch (10 pound roast size) coffee, sourced from small farms and grower co-ops worldwide, with a decided leaning towords Fair trade cretified organics. No mass market stuff here. Even Starbucks can't match what Seth has on the menu. There are several blends available for sale, all custom roasted for local establishments (If you've been to Bisbee and stayed at the Copper Queen, or Old Bisbee B&B, or dined at high desert cafe or Mimosa deli, then you've had old Bisbee coffee.) But, for a true drinking experience, stick with the single source coffees. The selection changes frequently due to the varied international growing seasons and Old Bisbees policy of only using the freshest of beans. You may have to watch and wait for your favorites to come into season and stock up when they do. I'm a fan of coffee in all it's forms, so I have fully enjoyed every product I've tried. If you have certain preferances (clean, dark roast, syrupy, etc...) then you will need to look around the site to find what suits you. The descriptions on the web site are thorough so this should be easy. And don't fear freshness problems because of buying mail order. Any order received by 1:00 pm Arizona time will be roasted, packed while still warm and shipped the same day. Delivery is next day in AZ and two days to anywhere else in the US. So you will be receiving the freshest coffee to be found anywhere. as a bonus, shipping is free. Speaking of fresh, if you are ever in Bisbee (and it is a town worth visiting) stop by the area referred to as "peddlers alley" for a free cup of some truly fine espresso. I love small coffee roasters. This company adds to the uniqueness of Bisbee, and the Southern tip of Arizona. When I came in the store, I was delighted by how tiny the shop is ( the front room is engulfed by an active roaster. We bought Columbian and Ugandan, and were not disappointed. Both had great flavor, and the Columbian was still warm from the roaster. Giving 4 stars because I am waiting to be wowed by a roast. I will definitely return on a bi-weekly basis to restock. Some of the best things in life come in the most unassuming forms, and Old Bisbee Roasters is one of them. My husband and I stopped by Seth's stand on a Saturday while visiting Bisbee. He offered us free shots of coffee (which I'm not sure if he does all the time, or only on the weekends). We live in LA, and my husband is a coffee connoisseur, so you'd think that you'd find some of the best brewed cups of joe in a big city like that. But according to my husband, the shot Seth gave him was one of the best, straight cups of coffee he had ever tasted.
