Best meal we've ever had the Beaufort. The building is an old brick structure with only a metal bull above the door on a side street. The inside has that spruced up old building feel. The shishito peppers and the garlic shrimp were the appetizers. Both were awesome. We got the beef short ribs with polenta which were excellent. A burger was also ordered. It was huge and tasty. They also have wood fired pizzas which looked awesome. Our server was very attentive. I highly recommend this restaurant.

Unexpectedly had the best meal of my life here. Cider brined pork chop, polenta cooked in heavy cream, and collard greens. My wife had the Mediterranean chicken and loved it as well. Highly recommend!

I'm not sure if it is where we were seated or if it was bad luck but the dinner we had last night, had on and off wafts of the worst scents. Our party of 4 agreed that the smell was really bad but the food was worth it. The pear salad is amazing and so was the pate appetizer. All good things about the pork chop and lamb as well. The portion for the entrees are a very good size. Servers were very nice. Loved the pudding dessert!! So good eaten with the chocolate terrine.

When someone told us to go to Old Bull Tavern for the best Old Fashioned in Beaufort, we had no idea what we were getting into. As we neared the door right at 5:00, when they opened, we were surprised to see that there was already a line. Reservations are definitely recommended. Fortunately since we got there right at opening, we were able to take the last 2 seats at the bar. Another couple, who visit often said that they usually arrive by 4:00 to get in line for a bar seat. The ambiance was unique and very classy, with specialty cocktails and a variety of menu items. Since we were there for the old fashioned, we only ordered an appetizer... the garlic shrimp! It was easily THE BEST shrimp I've ever eaten. They gave us several slices of bread to dip in the sauce and I truly believe that without it, I might have licked the bowl clean... lol. The service was great, even though they definitely grew busier as the night moved on. We actually had a "connection" with one of the bartenders (friends in common, even though we were more than 800 miles from home). It was a great experience and we will add it to our agenda the next time we are in town.

Really enjoyed dinner here! The service was insanely fast for a Saturday night and our service was awesome! It was pretty packed so we got stuck in a tiny, uncomfortable corner table in the back of the restaurant, but besides that, it was a pretty enjoyable time and we would recommend !

    One of their gourmet pizzas....fantastico!

Old Bull is a bona fide locals spot. We came in for dinner the other night and this place was packed!! We didn't have to wait long, however and in no time our awesome server had custom cocktails in our hands. As an appetizer we ordered the oysters Rockefeller, which honestly I've had better but it's not the end of the world. We did share one of their gourmet pizzas and it was an absolute home run. I can't wait to come back and try one of their main dishes. This is one place you should really try out, as a visitor or a local. There is a lot to choose from to keep you coming back, and this establishment is uniquely....Beaufortonian...lol

Food was as expected... phenomenal! I got the rack of lamb - slow cooked, falling off the bone tender on a bed of mashed taters, my date got the duck breast - amazing is what I heard, she never let me take a bite lol, but sweet taters were killer. We shared the burrata for an appetizer - the fresh creamy mozzarella balanced the tangy balsamic drizzle. And we closed out with tiramisu - it was rumored to be huge (that's what she said!) and it lived up to the hype. Drinks: old fashioned - bullet rye, London calling (gin drink), and old bull mule (my favorite) was a spicy ginger infused house bourbon drink... I'd have 2-3 in a sitting! Service: Kat (with a k!) was fun, engaging and timely. Her playful approach to serving us was par for the experience, top notch. Ambiance: a true side street gem hidden in downtown Beaufort that is a must see reclaimed building with a rich history. Indoor, bar and outdoor seating available. Reservations recommended during busy season and weekend nights. Great date night joint. Come ready to make memories!!!

Absolutely delicious! We made reservations for Saturday at 8pm, and thank goodness we did because the place gets packed! We were in town for a 5K, which was also during the shrimp festival, so Beaufort was alive. When we arrived, we were seated and ordered a few drinks, which came out quickly. Our waitress was amazing, and the interior is lovely. Definitely the true definition of a gastropub. We ordered a burger and a pizza, and finished both ! Unsure if we were starving or used to the large food portions in Savannah, but there were tons of crumbs left behind. Since we're talking about Savannah,I'll say the prices for meals were significantly less expensive, and we loved it! This gastropub has subtle romantic vibes as well, which was perfect for date night.

The greeting from our arrival to seating was prompt and very courteous. We got suggestions from the wait staff and started our experience. They have an extensive cocktail and wine list. We started with a drink called Southern Hospitality and their branded Old Fashioned. Both drinks were exceptional. We accompanied that with Grilled Octopus, which was sensational. Very hard not to make it chewy. Great char and sauce that accompanied it. For entrees, we did the Perloo, an amazing interpretation, and a swordfish. Both dishes were immaculately prepared and perfectly sized. We chose a bottle of Loss and Lehn, something we had never tried before but recommended based on what we had ordered. It matched perfectly with both dishes. We also choose items from the pick 3 menu to accompany our entrees. We finished with the best bread Pudding we have ever had nd french press coffee. The price was very reasonable considering the quality and the service, and should not be missed next time you are in Savanah.

Their steak prices have gone up a bit, but the quality matches the price. I started with the French onion soup, a must. It's a hearty portion it a nice size crock. I definitely do not regret our decision as we had a great meal. The interior ambiance of the restaurant truly transports to another place, it is truly beautiful. Our server was so gentle and gave us many recommendations on things to try and even accommodated some of requests. We started with the Espresso Martini and non-alcoholic French 75 (my first time) and these were both great. For appetizers, we had the crab croquettes (cakes), escargots and caesar salad. Everything was delicious (including the complimentary bread) , and to our surprise the Caesar salad had a nice crunch with the addition of fried frog leg pieces (if I'm not mistaken). The main entrees were the stars of the night, while we were originally inclined to try their Steak & Frites, our server recommended the steak tips sautéed over mushroom sauce with pasta and this was the perfect match instead of the classical French fries pairing. We also had the Supreme Roasted Chicken with caramelized veggies and everything was cooked to perfection. We did not leave without dessert and tried their Créme Brûlée, and while it was runnier than usual, the flavor was there. We thought it needed more time. Overall a great experience while in Savannah!

It was dimly lit and had a warm, inviting atmosphere and our server was awesome! To start, we all got the cucumber blossom cocktail. I got mine with tequila and the server was very knowledgeable about the drinks and the liquors that would work well with each one. We decided the best route for us was to split 2 apps and 2 entrees. For appetizers, we went with the focaccia and the crispy brussel sprouts. Both were AMAZING! I always love bread to start a meal. And the Brussels were nice and soaked in balsamic glaze, which maybe diminished the "crispy" in the title... but I didn't mind because they were delicious. For our entrees, we went with the gnocchi and the catfish served over grits. I would say the standout was the catfish. The gnocchi was good, but not as good as the other dishes we had. Overall we had a great experience splurging a bit on a nice meal. I would definitely recommend getting a reservation on the weekends. They seemed to be busy!

It felt like a quick dismissal. I had to ask if there was a waitlist, and only then were we told it was about 45 minutes. On top of that, parts of the conversation were directed to my husband rather than me (even though I was the one speaking), which didn't sit right. This interaction was with a hostess [long hair, glasses]. Thankfully, another hostess [short blonde hair, orange pants] stepped in, and they shuffled some tables, and got us seated -- which we really appreciated, especially with a toddler. From there, the experience completely turned around. The ambiance was really cute -- dim lighting with little candles that made it feel cozy and romantic. Our server [tall, muscular] was fantastic and the food was genuinely very good. So here's the takeaway: the kitchen and service once seated are strong, but the first impression at the door needs work. It shouldn't take a second ask to feel like a guest.

You can tell this is a place where visitors patronize but there are also locals who were familiar with the bartender and had history. The bartender was lively and said whatever you want to drink if I have the ingredients I can make it. Old speckled hen and tenets on tap but no other English beer options. More of a variety of Irish beers. If you are seeking your traditional fish and chips as my lovely partner was this is not the place as they do not have fries, anything battered or fried on the menu. We ordered a open faced pot roast sandwich to share and it was a generous portion, meat was tender, gravy was tasty but if expecting roast in the sense of carrots, onions, parsnips this was just meat and gravy. However, I truly enjoyed it and the mashed potatoes were not instant and very tasty and filling. We felt welcomed, cozy and they were thorough on ID's which I appreciated. If ever in the area again we would return as they stayed open until midnight.
