"One bite, everyone knows the rules..." First guest rating: 6.3 Second guest rating: 5.4 Pizza: We got a half and half Chicago pan deep dish. We select 3 toppings for each half. The pizza came out in about 23 minutes. The crust was good, sauce was decent, topping ratio was poor. We felt that you could really only taste the bread and not the toppings. Service: When we came in we noticed there were two servers, a bartender, a manager and a host working. The servers looked busy and after some time the host came and got us drinks. I heard one of the servers say to the host "you can take that table if you want" because he was pretty busy. The host seemed very nervous but took our order. I can't say we received great service from him, he was clearly inexperienced but it wasn't terrible and he had help from the bartender and the other server. Atmosphere: Some of the table items and menu were quite dirty. Bathroom was decently clean. We were sat by the kitchen so it was a bit loud but it's kinda a bar atmosphere so we didn't mind it. Menu: I was surprised by how many options the menu had other than pizza/pasta. Slightly disappointed in the lack of topping options, I would love to see salami and prosciutto in the meats and a few more interesting cheese options like goat cheese. We noted salami was in the Italian melt but not listed as available for pizza, however they gave it to us upon request. Overall: This place isn't amazing, there are far better pizzas in Fayetteville but I would return given they have a wide variety menu and have a specialty option with the deep dish crust. Let me first tell you that I was so excited to come here tonight after a long break. Got in... the greeter ran towards the kitchen and told some other server to take his spot and take us to our seat. ??? I guess he was profiling. We got seated and the tables looked it wasn't properly cleaned up. We ordered and got some microwaveable dishes like meals. Not a happy camper. It was luke warm and mediocre at best but not what I expected from "Old Chicago " from back in the days Ambience was alright their was bingo going on and I have no clue how to join or why it's being out loud? I used to love Old Chicago. Specifically the Buffalo chicken rolls. It just didn't hit like it used to. I placed a to go order online. When I went to pick it up, I had to go inside. Not a huge problem but just used to them coming outside for pic up orders. When I went in, there was no one t the front for a good 3 mins. When the hostess did come she handed me the food from a heater they had at the front. Shame on me for not checking the bag before I left. But it was super hot and I was just trying to hurry up and get it to the car. I ordered the Buffalo chicken rolls and the tall order of Jamaican dry rub wings. Nothing on the site tells u how many wings come in a short vs tall. But certain a tall should have had more than 5 wings for $16.99. I called to let them know my wing count was off and the said the receipt got mixed up and printed wrong. They offered to make a full order. Which now requires me to drive 30 mins roundtrip to go pick them up. The rolls were decent but the worse ones I've had and the wings were not good enough to take that ride to go pick up the rest. Sooooo....we had waited weeks for a cheat night carb binge and spent $60+ dollars on a pick up order (not curbside, we went in and picked it up) - 2 pizzas and the dessert cookie thing (part of some "deal"). We also left a tip (presumably for whoever boxes it? Or hands it is?). We are 35 minutes from the restaurant, so this is (counting going in and waiting) and hour and half roundtrip. We get there, and wait (not a big deal) and when they help us I physically saw someone check our order. I'm happy about this (you know makes me feel good about the extra tip). We take our 3 boxes and leave. We get home and our food is burnt. The sausage was charred black and the pepperonis were so burnt they were curled and brown. Whatever. We were starving. I opened the cookie (favorite part of the cheat of course) and it is black. I briefly thought, maybe it's a chocolate chocolate chip cookie (I was desperate) but no...it was burnt to a crisp. We had to break with a steak knife. I contacted Old Chicago not once but TWICE and still have never received a call or acknowledgment. What an utter waste of my Sunday afternoon, my "cheat day" and my money! It sucks because we were regulars back home (hence the choice of Old Chicago in the first place) and were so excited we'd be within driving distance of one when we moved. It's a shame that this place has gone so far downhill. It used to be a really cool spot. However, I visited a few days ago and I'm sorely disappointed. The table and seats were sticky, paper napkins were being used to balance wobbly tables, trash and dismantled tables were scattered in one of the outdoor seating areas (that we could see through the window where we were sitting), and everything seemed generally dirty. We waited quite a long time for our food despite there being very few people in the restaurant. Our server was very slow to bring refills, and other servers were seated in the dining area just chatting and generally ignoring people as they started to come in. First time ever having Old Chicago. Would not recommend. Food quality is not what they advertise. I'd recommend frozen pizza before paying for Old Chicago you're getting the same thing. Crust just tastes frozen. I ordered cookie dessert, they didn't even have any then magically they did. It was burnt edges and raw over 98% of it. Service staff was very kind though, although they only had 2 in the front of house. No one was at the host station. So it took at least 5 minutes before anyone acknowledged me. I have been dining at Old Chicago for many years. Today was the first time a server decided to ignore us after we were seated at her station. Luckily, a nice server named Victoria came over and asked had we been seen by anyone. When we told her no, Victoria served us and was extremely polite, professional and knowledgeable of the menu. Several servers walked by without checking to see if we had been seen before Victoria approached us. There is no excuse for this, the manager needs to address this asap. Thanks to Victoria we were able to salvage our afternoon without having to find another place to eat. If this happens again I will no longer dine there.
