Shared parking lot with Barnes and noble and charred. We weren't seated immediately. They seated someone before us. One comment here was that someone walked past the hostess desk and just ignored us instead of informing us that someone is coming to seat us. - I know they are not rostered at the hostess desk. But it's just an expected behaviour in the hospitality line. There are a variety of seats available there- booths and tables and bar seating available. Casual ambiance- good for meals with friends. Apart from that everything was great. But our server Miriam more than made up for that little oversight. We got our drinks promptly. Blue moon beer and unsweetened iced tea together with a glass of water for the hubs. And we ordered spinach and artichoke dip for appetizers and later on, wings ( screaming habanero for the hubs) and a roasted chicken, apple and walnut salad for me. Spinach artichoke dip came with eggroll crisps instead of regular taco chips. Tasted really good but the chips were a bit brittle when dipped directly into the dip. I loved it but would have preferred I'd the chips would withstand the dipping action. Also the dip had more spinach than artichoke and not a lot of cheese. I loved it this way but thought it would be better with a better proportioned spinach artichoke and cheese proportions. My salad was really good. Fresh and yummy. One comment is that there seemed to be very small pieces of roasted chicken in the salad. I would have preferred a bigger bite size. Hubby's habanero wings were nicely done. I had a craving for wings so I had the screaming habanero wings (drummies) with fries and she had the apple, walnut salad. The only comment on the food would be the dip. It was mostly spinach. Food is mediocre at best; pizza was extremely greasy; order was entered incorrectly and had to be sent back, the chicken caprese sandwich lacked flavor as chicken was very bland. This was pretty rough. We walked in at 9pm on a Sunday after we finished going to the movies next door and two people walked past us at the host stand without greeting us or a quick "I'll be with you soon!" they acted really rude and seemed to be too busy catering to some regulars who had been sitting out on the patio for hours before we entered the movie theater. Took forever to get drinks ordered and delivered and the server was extremely unprofessional and didn't know what sauces for the bone-in wings were gluten free. "I think that one should be fine" or "that should be gluten free but I don't know" are inappropriate responses, the least you could do is go to the back and check. But he never offered to do that. We waited an hour for our food and were there for nearly two hours. The food was pretty good although not good enough to top the awful service. The place wasn't even busy and I could see two or three servers standing around talking and doing nothing. I genuinely don't care if I see employees talking with each other in the restaurant, but you need to wait on your tables first and make sure their food is cooking and they don't need anything before just standing around doing nothing. Sorry but it looks inappropriate to be giving horrible service and then just standing around neglecting your tables. If the kitchen was having a problem, they could've at least communicated that with us and seemed apologetic or sent a manager over to explain to us what was happening. I didn't really want to pay for my food after the awful service I received, but I'm not the type to throw a fit and I probably would have waited another 30 minutes to see the manager anyways. We met friends for dinner last night and our food was delicious. My husband and I split the 3fer and the pretzel sticks. I ordered a beer that took forever to get and a water that never came. Our service was AWFUL- we never did get our servers name... we would have happily ordered more beers but we never got the opportunity. We had to BEG for soft drink refills. And we had to remind our server that we had all ordered dessert that we hadn't received before we would be willing to pay. We have never had good service at this location - we try back every 8-12 months and continue to be disappointed. Back to carry out! read more

Decent spot for a late night bite and drink, lots of space with plenty of T.Vs to watch a game. Our server was excellent super friendly great personality even on a late Friday night. All around food was decent nothing amazing but decent bar food, my wife really liked the cauliflower pizza crust light and not greasy. An okay place to get a bite and a beer after shopping or after a movie. But, certainly not a destination. We (party of two) stopped in after shopping on a Saturday afternoon. It was about 50 percent full with customers. Seated right away and we ordered a pizza. It was very disappointing. Regardless of the name, they do not have Chicago Style pizza. Their pizzas are no different than Pizza Hut. They have a fun selection of beers. Be sure to ask someone about all the custom beer steins behind the bar. The wait staff was wonderful. . 1) I made a mistake in my order and they fixed it. 2) Their soda machine mixture was off and they took care of it immediately. I would recommend this place. We were very surprised by the lack of quality ingredients and especially the presentation. We ordered a couple of beers and the Classic pizza. It came out with a big burnt bubble in the middle and hardly no toppings. I would have thrown this pizza away at home. The waitress could have cared less. Her attitude was we would be waiting like we just got there and no rush would be put on our pizza if we ordered a new one. The desert bill comes and the kid is chatted an adult price PLUS a scoop of ice cream What was supposed to be 1.59 desert turns into almost $5. Mess up after mess up after mess up. Make an adult small bigger than the kid pizza if you are g oing to charge $12. Get the waiting area fixed. Bring playes with a hot pan...using napkin to eat was no fun. Bring two s oops of ice cream with the large adult desert. If you differentiate between the kids meal and adult at least make the servings a noticeable difference in size. For those of you who do not have kids you would not see you are paying for a kids meal. For those who have kids...you will see what I am talking about Not going back. This location of old Chicago far surpasses that of the downtown location. Better management and staff first of all and much better food. We like to sit at the bar to order food and drinks and that seems to be the spot to sit for the best service. Great rotating selections of beers as well as seasonal beer tours. I enjoy the sour and unique craft beer selections especially. Pizza and nachos are my go to favorites, wings are decent, and burgers are hit or miss. I usually avoid those because they are often over done. Overall everything else is above par and the place is pleasant to hang out at. read more

Worst service I've ever received in Lincoln. My mother and I went to have lunch , we waited at the hostess stand for 15 mins. Servers kept passing us by , bartender would glance but not help. Finally we ended up sitting down at a semi full bar, bartender didn't even give us a menu when we tried to get her attention she ignored us. We ended up leaving. Treat all your customers the same. Chicago Pizza is not very vegetarian friendly. They have messed up my order by giving me meat 2 out of the 3 times I've been there. The first time, I ordered the macaroni and cheese sandwich without the bacon. However, no one bothered to tell me that there's actually bacon mixed in with the mac and cheese as well. The second time, I ordered macaroni and cheese with broccoli (carry out), and didn't realize until I got home that it was mac and cheese with CHICKEN and broccoli, so I couldn't eat it. Cheap beer and really cheap food! $3 for most pint beers unless they are high abv. and no alcohol over 5 is a great deal in my book! Our family went to Old Chicago Southpointe tonight for a family dinner. We recently had an unexpected death in our family and we have all been devastated. We've been together a lot in the last week. Our waiter was Anthony and he was terrific....very attentive, pleasant and personable. We also ran into Bobbi, a family friend, who works there. Bobbi worked with Anthony to provide us with a discount and a complimentary cookie to show her compassion for our tragic loss. I am not a large person, but they pack the tables close together - combine that with a packed house (30+ min wait) and everyone wearing winter coats with no place to hang them - it's extremely uncomfortable. The most room I had all night was when I was breastfeeding in the bathroom stall. This is not an exaggeration. If you're waiting for a table, you're either in the way of a wait station or staring a diner in the face. Speaking of nursing - I cannot eat dairy due to my baby's intolerance. I really like the game day specials they have. the 2 for $8 or 3 for $11, its every dya theres a pro football game on. the portions are very filling. i usually get teh 3 for $11 and im always full before i get to me 3rd option. for a chain restaurant they offer very good in a warm atmosphere. its almost the kind of place i would come to with my FAC. The food was good, we ordered the Chicago 7 calzone which was delicious. The portion size is huge therefore I split it with another adult and each ordered a side salad. Usually a staple for our family. The other night we had an awful experience. It was busier than normal and my wife put our names down on a waitlist and stood near the bar area waiting for a table to open up. She had her eye on a booth and table right next to one another. As the table opened she gave it to an elderly couple and the booth was done not too long after. As she went to sit down in the booth she was told it was reserved for a family already, bar is OPEN seating. First come first serve. She was there for 40 minutes and was told they were trying to "shorten the wait list." The situation was handled very unprofessionally and that was upsetting considering the amount of time we spend inside the restaurant. read more

There was a group of 6 of us that walked in at 8:45 on a Friday night. We asked the hostess if we could sit in the bar area. We got our table together and were sitting down when the server, Mike, came over. From the start we did not feel welcome. He started pushing for us to go sit in the restaurant area. We said that we were fine at the high top. He was all about us sitting at a "horseshoe" table and kept saying we would be way more comfortable there. He said this with a smile, so we just played it off as his way of joking. After the third mention of us moving, I had to firmly tell him that we were not that old and were just fine sitting on bar stools. We all ordered drinks and food. The drinks took forever to get to us, but the food came out rather quickly and was really good. We ordered more drinks and, again, they took forever to get to us. I should mention that there were not very many other customers in the restaurant and we were the only table in the bar. Mike never apologized for the wait and never refilled our waters. He came back around when we were done eating, started cleaning the dishes and asked if there was anything else for the evening. A few of us ordered another round. Again, it took forever for him to come back, but, when he did, he brought our checks, not our drinks. It was only 10:30 and the hours clearly state open until 1:00 AM. I have never felt so rushed to leave an establishment, nor so unwelcome. I am extremely aware that many places are understaffed and am sensitive to that fact. This was NOT a product of being understaffed. This was a product of a server, MIKE, not wanting to be at his job past a certain time in the evening! Next time we have friends in town, we will find a more welcoming place to visit and catch up. read more

I looked at the toppings under my cheese and realized i had been given ham (Canadian bacon) instead of bacon which I had ordered (I've had bacon on my pizza several times at Old Chicago and know what it's supposed to taste like and it wasn't bacon) and I hate ham/Canadian bacon. (My boyfriend's pizza came with Canadian Bacon on it and also thought it tasted off and said it tasted like it was raw even though it had been cooked but will eat almost anything so just ate it. I told the waitress and she offered to have the kitchen make me a new one; I also asked for no bacon on that pizza to make sure the kitchen didn't mess up again. The manager came over to apologize and offered to have the pizza come out in a to go box as at this point my boyfriend had already finished eating his meal. My replacement pizza came out on a plate and this time it wasn't a Chicago thick style pizza but one of the pub pizzas. They aren't thin crust but they are not a Chicago thick/pan crust, are much smaller and run about $2-4 during happy hour as opposed to the $12 pizza I ordered. I had to explain to the waitress that the kitchen had messed up again and she didn't notice the issue although it was visibly clear it was the wrong type of pizza. I asked for that pizza to be sent back and the pizza I ordered to be made. When my 3rd pizza was done, the manager brought it out in a to go box and had also replaced it with a medium pizza and my pizza had been taken off the bill. I didn't expect my pizza to be free or to get a larger one to make up for the wait, but it was a nice gesture. Problem is when I went to have a slice at home, the crust wasn't fully cooked and some of the pepperoni were the weird extremely thick cut pizza instead of normal sizes. The quality of the pizza itself was not nearly as good as the pizza I started with. read more
