As someone from Oregon, I can say that we need a Famous Dave's in Eugene. I visited Lincoln for work last summer with my wife. One of the evenings, I got a hankering for BBQ and we decided to try Famous Dave's. I am glad we did. The place is pretty big, so although there were customers, it wasn't supremely full. I noticed when I walked in that the bar area had a sign above it that said either "Nebraska Fans Welcome" or "Cornhusker Fans Welcome" something to that effect. And here I was, in my green Oregon Ducks pullover. Fortunately, nobody said anything about that. We were seated quickly and the place is nice inside. There are sports TVs that had women's college world series games on as I recall. My wife and I went with an appetizer and she got a mixed drink. We decided to split my 3-meat platter since she doesn't eat a lot. Everything we had was fantastic. The BBQ sauce is great and they had other options of BBQ sauce they brought to the table that my wife tried as well. They were kind of hit and miss, but what was on the plate already was great. The brisket was tender. The ribs fell off the bone. The baked potato was excellent and the oft forgotten cornbread was also very good. Usually, the cornbread is pretty dry and crumbles too much, but this one was soft and tasty. Service was also very good as we were checked on just the right amount of times. I really like this place. Jumping ahead to December of 2025, I was in Lincoln for work again. You better believe I stopped at Famous Dave's for dinner. I got in kind of late. The hours of operation were different for winter, so I got in not too terribly long before closing. An order waitress was tending to me and one other table. I was by myself this time, but I knew what I wanted: 3-meat platter. It was outstanding. On top of that, even though I was there right until closing, I wasn't rushed. The waitress had other things to do and checked on me the right amount of times. I was sad it was time to go because I knew I wouldn't be able to eat at Famous Dave's again for quite a while. And I haven't been back to Lincoln since. Top to bottom, I love this place. The ambiance is good, it is clean, plenty of seating, food is downright outstanding, the service is excellent. I don't have a reason yet to complain. If I am in the area again, you bet that I'll swing by for food. It is that good. read more

We were seated after waiting awhile. What I liked was that even though the hostess was busy, a lady walking past told us that we would get attended to; and she promptly brought us to a table. We had waters brought to us and she took our orders for our drinks. I ordered a peach sangria, and my hubby ordered a modelo. When there was a delay, they informed us promptly. Service was great. Then we ordered our meal to share we got two meats two sides and a corn muffin. They even checked to see if we wanted to double up the corn muffins. Our food came and was delicious!! Brisket was tender and pork ribs were delicious. We ordered beans as well as chips. Even the hubs ate the corn muffi and actually asked for more! This is one of the best bbq I've ever had. Food was delicious. We then got a banana pudding. Again, I loved it. It had some biscuits, banana cream and bananas on it together with whipped cream. It's such a huge portion both hubs and I couldn't finish it. Also I loved the decorations Feels homey and like in a cabin. We will definitely be back. I ate here on 4/8/26 with a few other people. Here are my comments: - My baby back ribs were chewy and somewhat tough (not "fall off the bone", as I prefer and expect with ribs). I ate a couple, then took the other uneaten rib bones home, which I'll heat in the oven to make the meat on them tender (and thus more eatable). - The corn bread muffin was excellent (moist and tasty). - The fries are potato wedges, not really fries, in my opinion. If you like potato wedges, they are okay. - The mac and cheese was tasty, but it could have been served warmer. - The onion straws appetizer was very tasty, but also very greasy. - The Maker's on the rocks I ordered was a lot of ice and very little whiskey. - The beer was cold. - Service was good. - Atmosphere was good. - Parking was good. - The prices were a little on the high side, but everything today is I guess. read more

I have to say I've always enjoyed Famous Daves at home, so was excited to visit this location when out here for work. The bbq is good and consistent at each location, this one is no different. The burnt tips, really good!! I always get these as they are super yummy. The sauce is good, the smoke flavor on the meat is nice. The brisket is really good, it doesn't fall apart unless you are lucky enough to get more fatty ends, tho it's still super yummy. Definitely worth the visit. read more

Hugely disappointed...came here for my husband's birthday celebration. I order the Famous Dave's salad for $15.50. My salad was the size of a dinner salad with ice berg lettuce from a 2.88 bag of lettuce with few pieces of brisket. No cheese, no croutons, just lettuce and brisket. Decided to order ribs, sides and dessert "to go" for our Father's Day dinner. Total bill was almost $140. The ribs were like leather! Dry, chewy, tough -- like jerky. I've made my last visit to Famous Dave's Restaurant in Lincoln for quite awhile. Tonight we waited an hour for our food, we're charged top dollar, and provided subpar quality product. I ordered burnt ends that were fatty, tough, and generally poorly prepared. When I brought this to the attention of the manager, she scolded me for not sending the food back at the start of the meal! And what then? Wait another hour for a replacement? At my request (she didn't volunteer) she agreed to discount my order but cautioned me she would do this "only this time" and continued to lecture me on returning the food early. Popped in for some carry out BBQ, was greeted quickly and kindly. Gentlemen took me to the carry out section, showed me a menu and he and a nice young lady gave me recommendations. Food was okay, service was horrible. Our server was so rude and kept getting our drinks wrong ie: order a water and got a Diet Coke? My friend ordered a beer and she brought us a mojito? Also messed up all of our food orders and when we tried to correct her she got defensive and gave us attitude. If you want pick up this place is perpetually late. Called for pick up, they said 30 minutes which is fine. I got there in 30 minutes and I had to wait an additional 15 minutes. I love Famous Dave's. It is my favorite BBQ place. However, this was not my favorite location. The food was delicious like always and the restaurant was clean but the service was not up to par. I had to ask multiple times for a to-go box and ended up just having to ask another server. And we still didn't get a bag to put them in. My friend also asked our server what the difference was between regular ribs and rib tips and the server just stood there and stared at her and said nothing and never answered her. Super awkward and weird. I am hoping it is just a bad experience with one server and not the norm. We arrived just before it was getting busy on Saturday & were seated right away. Our server was so good & very quickly brought our food. Everything has gone up in price but still a good value for the quality of food. We always enjoy eating here. They keep it very clean. read more

Got some Dave's takeout tonight. Generally mediocre as usual, except for the 1 pound of pulled pork that contained 1/4 pound of gross fat as seen in the top half of the picture. Not sure why it's so difficult to adequately trim the fat off of their brisket or pork. It's sickening and at the price you pay per pound, it's a rip off! I've eaten at Famous Dave's for years but my last visit was disappointing. The brisket was cold and tasteless and the ribs were greasy and fatty. The best item in my meal was the muffin. It all started when we walked in...service, service, service. If that wasn't enough, and of course it wouldn't be enough, the food came out in glorious excess. I ended up taking home enough for 2 more meals! I went for the St. Louis (I think that's the name) ribs and added some Texas Pit spicier sauce. (DON'T QUOTE ME ON THE "TEXAS PIT" I might not have remembered correctly.) Then I added the garlic red skin mashed potatoes...a delight from heaven especially if you like garlic...suggestion: add melted butter! Then I was a good girl and ate my broccoli which I love, too...but not as much as those excellent ribs. They were done to perfection. Many restaurants first practically boil rib meat off the bone before "BBQ-ing". They go through quite a process. I was told a manager had to go through 6 or so weeks training where he/she learned all the secrets... My ribs were so good my tongue fell out of my mouth and then slapped my brains out. (That is not my line. I stole it from my brother, Werner Jay.) Gene ordered the ribs and 2 other BBQ meats, those mashed potatoes to die for and something else I forgot to snag off his plate. I can't remember what it was. Barb chickened out, literally. She chose roasted chicken. She can't handle the least spicy anything. But she was a happy camper with her chicken. If you haven't been and you love BBQ...get in your pickup and head for Famous Dave's! OK, you can also take the family car if you would prefer. Had not been in years so this is not a first time visit. Upon first entering we were very quickly greeted and seated which was nice however we were seated with no drink menu for ten min and no silverware still when our food arrived. Our food was out really fast , which they prolly smoke their meats earlier in the day and make large batches of sides so I wasn't too surprised. Our server was nice but not really on it, seemed kind of nervous. I did walk to the bar to retrieve silverware so we could eat our food. The drinks were ok , nothing too wild. They had a very basic beer list and very uninteresting wines ( I think just cheap Sutter Home, not good). The food was decent, nothing to write home about though and nothing that blew me away. Got the platter for two so we could try a lot of things. Anyhow, will return maybe again in another year. Not really craving it after this visit but it was ok. read more

As a Texan living in Nebraska, I sorely miss the amazing BBQ from back home. Be it Smitty's in Lockhart, Lockhart Smokehouse in Dallas or Micklethwait Meats in Austin, Texas BBQ is what I consider comfort food. So when one of my family members suggested we eat at Famous Dave's for dinner, I went in with an open mind. However, I can say without a doubt that Famous Dave's is one of the most disappointing "barbecue" meals that I've ever had. There was no delicious smokey flavor to the meat, the sides were from a bag/can at best, and the place reminded me of a Chuck E Cheese without the games to occupy the children. Loud families with louder children crowded the dining room and their caterwauling echoed throughout the log cabin-esque space. Astute diners ordered Budweiser and Michelob Ultra while chowing down on overpriced onion rings and other generic offerings that seem better suited to Chili's than a place specializing in BBQ. Famous Dave's is a generic chain restaurant masquerading as a BBQ establishment; they offer brisket and pulled pork along with ribs so they outdo Applebee's with two more BBQ items than just ribs. Skip this place and go to Phat Jack's or Parker's Smokehouse; Famous Dave's is just overpriced dreck served to unassuming folks who know no better. read more

A friend from work suggested hitting up Dave's and talked them up a good game. We stopped in and the place was fairly busy. I can say that the food was ok, but the portions were very small (I'm ok with that) but the price was not small. The service was friendly. I wasn't really full but did not feel like ordering dessert. I have always loved Famous Dave's especially sine I have been to the original Famous Dave's in Hayward Wisconsin. For a chain this location has great food! Staff is super friendly! And it is always clean!! The north woods atmosphere is great!! Burgers are to die for and if you have a group their trash can lid BBQ dinner is great, a little bit of something for everyone. I just wish they would bring back their chicken wild rice soup. This is a corporate location so they are great at supporting military and giving military discounts. We came here with my husbands recruiter before he went to boot camp. Overall I love Famous Dave's! Their food quality at this location is great and so is the staff!
